  • All squares are now complete. Still have a few ends to weave in but I've been doing them as I go so don't have many left. I'll start assembly next weekend.
  • Thank you everyone. I found it at Walmart in our tiny organic section with the red mill supplies. Looking forward to trying it.
  • Where in the grocery store do you find Quinoa? I've looked and looked and can't find it. I've tried by the rice and pasta, no joy.
  • Going to be about 9'X9' so big enough for 2 on a king sized bed. My son will love it. It will be the first Mario thing I've been able to get him that he didn't already have. I'm pretty sure he won't get one from anyone else either.
  • I'm going to use a slip stich to join the squares as this should make the blanket reversible. I'm going to use black so the reverse of the blanket will have the black stiches look like the black spaces between pixels. If you look real close to anything pixelated you can see each individual square. Using the black in this…
  • Couldn't get the copy and paste to work so here's the link to the pattern I'm using. There are 14 pages of comments. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=314101.30
  • Thanks everyone. Glad to know I'm not the only one.
  • I'm trying to figure out how to get a handle on things. I have a lot going on right now and I get sidetracked too easily and it's hard to finish anything. I have a brother who was diagnosised when he was in elementary school. I also have 2 sons who were diagnosis, one seems to have outgrown it or has learned to make it…
  • Gotta save these
  • I go visit my DD and her family every Christmas. While there I go with them to all their traditional family gatherings. Her new family is black and we are white. They have very different eating habits than I do. They always want to make sure I get enough to eat. Enough to eat for me is much less than it used to be. When…
  • He's in the position he's in now because he wanted to be a donor. He was gone by the time emergency help arrived. They revived him enough to get him to the hospital. Their main goal was to save donor parts. He died 3x's that day. He managed to after 2 weeks get to where he was breathing on his own, but that is all he does…
  • Thanks, but unfortunately he never will. He will have been in this coma/vegitative state for 12 years in May. His friend was playing with a loaded pistol and shot him on the night before he was to graduate high school. There are some things happening to him now that leads me to believe at some point this year we will be…
  • I'm single again with 6 kids. 5 of my kids all have significant others, including children still at home. My other son is in a coma in a nursing home so he doesn't know he's alone. I'm the only one in the family who is alone. I get really lonely especially this time of year. My work schedule (overnights) makes it hard to…
  • I used to work as a cook in a nursing home. We used the liquid eggs for scrambled eggs and anything that would need to use beaten eggs. The eggs we got were real whole eggs in cartons, not artificial eggs. When you're making scrambled eggs for 80 people this was much faster. They tasted just like the eggs you shell,…

  • I really need to get my daughter hooked up on here when i get back home. Your story and pictures would be a real inspiration to her, she's about your size and gets so frustrated. Either way, you are an inspiration to us all. Thanks for sharing.
  • Thanks for posting this. I'm always looking for new ways to eat my beloved oatmeal.
  • I have 3 suggestions for you. 1. Pack up 2. Leave 3. Never look back
  • My daughter and her family got me a ipod nano and they loaded it with a bunch of cool workout music. Just ordered a total gym as a gift to myself, should get to my house shortly after I get home.
  • All the time. Right now I'm not hungry, ever. I do force myself to eat as I know I have to eat. I've just been eating much less than I used to. I start eating and after eating about 1/2 of my small meal, I can't eat anymore. No I'm not anorexic or anything like that, I'm just going through a not hungry phase at the moment.…
  • I do, but my last baby is going to be 25 on the 21st. :blushing:
  • I feel so blessed to be in the company of so many people who are as emotional as me. I remember reading a book one time and in the story there were 5 kids who's parents both died. The story was set in pioneer times when the older children aged 17 and 15 took over the raising of the younger siblings. Every night at supper…
  • Just for everyone's information. There is only 3/16" difference between shoe 1/2 sizes for length. That's not even 1/4" so it doesn't really take that much of a difference to make you need the next higher or lower shoe size. Just in case anyone was wondering.
  • I have a whole collection of movies guaranteed to make me cry no matter how many times I watch them. I think that is a nice thing us women have. If we need to cry and don't want to have to explain, we can put in one of these movies and anyone who comes by blames it on the movie. We can work through whatever and get…
  • I had a boss who used to always bring donuts and rolls for our weekly meetings. I never took any and he felt bad because everyone was eating in front of me. I told him not to sweat it, but I don't care much for donuts. He asked what I would rather have. I told him a piece of fruit would be nice. The next meeting in…
  • I'm small boned too. I am 54 years old and 5'4" now, but used to be 5'6". My wedding ring was a 4 1/4 to get over my knuckle, but it would always roll as it was too big for my finger. Since I've started working as a welder and work with my hands doing some heavy stuff my fingers have gotten a bit bigger and I now wear a 6…
  • Not sure I can give you any number help, but I was nursing my 2nd while pregnant with my 3rd. My dr told me to wean the 1 yr old a month before the next one was born. She was shocked that I was still nursing. One nice thing about nursing the first while pregnant, didn't have to start all over with sore nipples. :blushing:…
  • I was on a swim team a very long time ago too, about 40 years ago. I prefer lap swimming to just playing in the water, unless I was working on teaching my kids or grandkids how to swim. I just get in and swim. I try to keep moving. I get winded, still getting back into swimming, so stop every few laps or so. Sometimes so I…
