  • Chew gum and find something to do to distract yourself.
  • Good job getting started! Even if you slip up, it's ok. You can always start again. Have fun at the gym. I bring peppy music to keep me going.
  • So, I'm up about 2 hours later than usual (I love late night tv on Fridays) and all of a sudden I'm hungry. I wandered around the kitchen looking for a decently healthy snack, but every time I picked something, I remembered that it won't actually satisfy me. My stomach will ache & I'll be disappointed in myself. SO now I'm…
  • TRUE!!! Go ahead and enjoy your accomplishments! With all of that hard work, it's so important to pat yourself on the back. Congrats! Don't forget how much your progress motivates others too! But, you can can still be like Forrest Gump when he ran for that touchdown then kept running. :noway:
  • I don't count coffee or tea as my water intake because it feels like I'm cutting corners. To me, it's like saying french fries and a baked potato are the same because they both come from the same vegetable. If I'm using that logic, I might as well add my coca-cola to my water intake.
  • I used to feel like that, too. Now when I work out (I prefer to do it after work), I feel relaxed, I sleep better than I have in forever, and I wake up 30-45 min before my alarm goes off in the morning refreshed. Just give it some time.
  • This thread is definitely what I need. My cut-off time is 9pm. This is gonna be tough...
  • I just ignore the feelings and get started working out anyway. I figure, if I start exercising and it REALLY stinks, I can stop. But usually, once I get started, I feel great.
  • Nicole did so awesome! i was so sad to see her leave after only 1 week back. I think Ron is just there to make sure Mike wins it all, but I think Mike is doing well enough that he's proving himself on his own. I was also proud of Tara in the Nascar competition, but she sure did get insecure when Nicole showed up. I think…
  • Thank goodness for this post! My feet have been going numb on the elliptical since I got new shoes a few months ago. It never used to happen to me. It's also happening to me on the StairMaster. I gotta get new shoes soon!
  • Donna Reed, Green Acres, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, the **** Van *kitten* Show: basically anything that was on Nick at Night. I think I was born 30 years too late.
  • I can't see anyone but the original 3 as the Stooges, but I'll likely give it a try.
  • I made it to my halfway point at my 3 month anniversary on this lifestyle change yesterday. It's such a great motivation to see so many people doing so well. Congrats everyone!
  • I like to put a slice of cucumber in my water. It tastes so refreshing!
  • Make sure you're doing this for yourself. You've done a great job already; does he praise you for that? Congrats on your amazing progress so far and take care of yourself along the way.

  • Totally funny post! I'm going to a party tonight and I think I'm gonna try #1 when I need to go to the bathroom, just for kicks.
  • I don't like sour cream, so I use it as a sour cream replacement. I use the fat free and it's great. Totally worth it!
  • my quads. My motivation to get healthy is
  • true (I'm ashamed to say!) you're having seafood for dinner

  • I've noticed a change, too. I sleep better and I wake up without feeling groggy. The list of foods I can't really eat because they makes me feel sick is growing.
  • Yeah, it does sound crazy, but it works. With 1500 calories left at the end of they day is a lot. The link that Banks posted explains it better than I can, but, essentially, your body doesn't have the fuel it needs to run. It's kinda like driving on an empty gas tank. Try eating most of those calories. I had to get…
  • I'm thinkin', if formaldehyde is supposed to "preserve" the body or something after we've passed, then what is it doing to us when we're alive? So, when we eat artificial sweeteners and they convert to formaldehyde, are we like walking mummies? I'm soo weirded out. Sorry, I can be pretty silly after I work out. The gym…

  • Eeww!!! I have to save my calories for regular soda/yogurt as well. Stuff like aspartame gives me headaches. But formaldehyde?! That's nasty!!!

  • From the info you've provided, it looks like you may not be taking in enough calories. Your body may be "freaking out" and going into starvation mode. Check this out: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/10589-for-those-confused-or-questioning-eating-your-exercise-calo The amount of calories burned (are they your…
  • I like to look at how loose my clothes are now. It's so exciting! I don't feel like an encased sausage in my clothes anymore!
  • I had to report for jury duty as well on Monday. I was excused (I worked for & still have contacts at the agency the victim is being treated at), but I understand the not drinking your normal amount of water. I was sooo thirsty! It's weird how things like this really disrupt our schedules/eating habits.
  • Baked salmon with dill weed, asparagus risotto and steamed asparagus on the side. Whoa, it's clear how much I seriously love asparagus!
  • Yea!!! Y'all will have so much fun! I grew up in Florida, so I've been more times than I can count; each time is great. You've got a great goal to keep you focused. If you plateau, don't let it get you down or frustrated, it happens. Just keep going and know that it's definitely worth it. You came to the right place. MFP…
