I am post menopause as well. I have utilized MyFitnessPal successfully in the past and off/on over the years. I am trying again and would love to connect with other women in the same phase of life. 26 days on track so far this time :)

Your body type can be a factor. I am short (5'2") and have a small build, I have to eat 1000 calories to lose weight. I do not lose weight if I eat 1200.

I ate under 1000 successfully a year or two ago and am just beginning to get back into it. Some things that helped me are: - to drink only water all day so there are no calories from drink - then if you have calories available at the end of the day, you can have a caloric drink - skip breakfast - focus on a small but…

Great :)

How old are you and do you have your own transportation? The nuts and beef jerky in your room to have as needed is a great suggestion.

I am 5'2" and currently 125. I have lost about 10 pounds and still have a few more to go. Basically I don't care how much I weigh, I just want a FLAT STOMACH which I do not have yet. I am thinking between 115 and 120 should be about right, but we will see. I was 92 pounds when I was 22 years old, am 44 now so NOT going to…

I am 5'2", my high weight was about 136; I am down to 125 now and need to go a little further.

that's great :)

WOW, wonderful

I was at about 137 pounds. I am 5'2" and 44 yo. I am down to 125. I feel like it is slower when you do not have as much to lose (or are close to your goal). I have to exercise regularly and eat less than the 1200 calories pretty often to see a drop. Mostly I try to skip breakfast which I know a lot of people don't agree…

It is nice to get outside on pretty days and walk, cycle, or jog - try starting the C25K program. A few DVD workouts are good for bad weather days or eary/late workouts if you aren't comfortable being outside before or after daylight. I have an elipitcal machine as well, which gives a little something different too.

Way to go!!

It is really hard to to ANYTHING when they are that age, so I know it is a challenge. I didn't really work out when my were that age, but now with work and dinner it is still hard to fit in time. The most I could do when they were little was as meglet175 suggested: go on long walks. when they think they are too big for the…

I just got one I ordered from Amazon, but haven't opened it yet. Thanks for the info, maybe that will motivate me to try it out. I have 30 day shred and it is OK, but not something I look forward to. I have been jogging outside in the a.m. and so use 30 day Shred if raining or something.

Have you tried flavored sparlking water?

I agree family meals are hard. We have a regular dinner (a.k.a. supper here in the south  ) almost every night and I eat the same food as the family, but just try to cut back portion sizes to stay within my calorie range. Many days it isn't hard to do, but sometimes its a major struggle....but you CAN do it!!!

Don't be surprised if you have to repeat some days or weeks on C25K if you can't complete the workout the first time. I started in May and finished last month or around then. I think a lot of people need to repeat sometimes. If you have a hard day, just keep at it the next. It is HARD if you have never ran before, but you…

My husband and I both come from long lines of commercial fisherman all of our family and anscestors eat fish, shrimp, crab, & oysters ALOT. Just like a farmer eats what he grows, its like "free" and yummy groceries. No one in our family history (and we have fishermen dating back to BEFORE 1900) has had any health…

I think everyone goes over some days, and you just try to plan what you eat better the next day and keep on keeping on. If I am in that situation and have the opportunity, I add another round of evercise to keep the overage as low as possible. For instance the other day my husband made homemade fried chicken, I would have…

That's wonderful!!

I started getting what I thought was acne on my chest, but now I think it was heat rash. I got it cleared up then started putting gold bond powder on the area BEFORE I exercise and it is keeping it from coming back.

Great! It is huge because all the little victories add up to big ones!

I vary back and forth by up to 3 pounds or so. Don't let it upset you, you are still making a difference.

I just completed the program, based on time not distance, and want to encourage you: YOU CAN DO IT! When I started I was wiped out after the programs in weeks 2 and 3, huffing and puffing. But now I can run (actually jog) for the whole 30 minutes; a big difference. I did have to repeat some days and weeks; if I couln't…

There is no way I could have my hair dry if I washed it in the morning. It is too thick. I pull it in a ponytail and either braid or bind all the way down so it is not hanging loose on my shoulders or back and it doesn't get sweaty.
