  • I'm confused about the not drinking your calories. I agree that I can't give up the milk (and I use fat free) because I am post-bariatric and I need the protein. I don't drink lots of it, but have it atleast once per day. Other than that, my liquids are calorie free (I don't think water has calories). Hey Capt....any…
  • Hi everyone, I managed to up my fruits and veggies last week and completed all the exercise challenges. My current weight is 164.2. I'm working with a new trainer/dietician and that coupled with my fitbit is helping me know how much exercise or type of eating I need to do to be able to lose weight. I'm so stoked! Next…
  • Did the exercises for Monday/Tuesday. Where DO they find all these cool exercises. Hope everyone is having a great week. Linda

  • So...how long do you fast to reap the benefits? A day..2 days at a time???
  • Hiyeeeeeeeeeee Kimberlee.....you are truly an inpsiration to everyone who is struggling with weight. I didn't have a heart attack, but I couldn't walk so I knew something had to change. You are always out here inspiring all of us with the daily quotes, and we appreciate you so much. Just when I think things are going wrong…
  • I hate doing planks....there....I just thought I would say it! I haven't felt good all day. Went down to Lake Andrea to get in a workout on the bike and swimming, it was very breezy and cool so the thought of getting into the lake didn't sit well with me, my tummy was upset so I didn't feel like riding the bike, so I…
  • Hiyeeeeeeeeeee everybody! Mali thanks for providing info and keeping us motivated. I am able to wear size 14's now...except in jeans and that's a great motivation for working on my mid-section! Here's my input for the Wed/Thursday workouts: Wednesday 8/1 - 10 minute Total Body workout This workout is one that should only…
  • Team, I will have great difficulty meeting the weekly challenge of 100 oz of water/day. My stomach only holds 4 oz of fluid or food at a time and unfortunately physically I can not drink that much in a day. I work toward getting in the 48-64/day but 100 oz is an impossibility for me and I definitely wouldn't want to end up…
  • Hiyeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Less IS More teammies!!! :flowerforyou: I am really excited about the August challenge and look forward to sharing and hearing about the successes this month for our team. My name is Linda (lovingly known as "sarge" to my friends on MFP) and I'm a southern transplant living in the frozen tundra of…
  • :flowerforyou: My first triathlon is at the end of August. I need to be challenged working up to this. I'd like to be on a team. Thanks Linda "Sarge"

It's those little things in life that make a big difference! Hugz Linda
  • This is a cool thread! :flowerforyou: My goals for April are: * lose 10 lbs * Participate in my 2nd indoor triathlon * Make sure I'm getting atleast 7 hours sleep at night (so it means earlier to bed) * Don't let work interfere with my weight loss goals * Get more organized at home I hope everyone has a great Sunday!!!!…
  • What an incredible story and journey. I am so proud of you. You are definitely and inspiration to all of those who have excuses that they can't lose weight because . . . Keep up the great work!
  • Unjury is my favorite. I buy the unflavored and put it in different foods.
  • I've had bariatric surgery and struggle with eating enough. My dietician has told me exactly what you are saying.....when I'm working out hard, I need to eat more. This past week I have only lost a pound and I've had some hard workouts. I will be focusing on eating more this weekend and hopefully will see a difference.
  • I've had my second EGD and I'm able to eat a little better. I used to be a big bread eater...not so much anymore. The only bread items I really eat are pretzels and Special K crackers on occasion. I can eat rice but potatoes go down easier. I talked to the doctor today and told him sometimes I can only manage to eat 3-4…
  • You look absolutely amazing!!! I'm so proud of your accomplishment! Keep it up!
  • Welcome to group Armywife and Frogmama!! You are definitely in the right place for encouragement and support (and some shared experiences along the way). Armywife I agree with Kimmie. Maybe your band needs an adjustment of some sort. I had the RNY so I can't be a lot of help in the experience area. But I do know that WLS…
  • What a remarkable story of courage and perseverance! I am so proud of you and you are a true testament of "where there's a will there's a way!". You should be an inspiration to all of us! Great job!
  • Congratulations!!! You look amazing and hard work does pay off.
  • Hiyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Kim and welcome to our group! I'm so sorry for not writing sooner but sometimes I forget about checking the group site to see what's going on. I'm going to ask my friends to send you a 'friends' request.....there is a wonderful group of ladies that are on my list that are very uplifting and…
  • Hiyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Rebecca and welcome to the group! This is a great place to be for encouragement and support. I will send you a friend request so we can keep up with each other's progress. Congrats on having your surgery in 2007. Life sort of gets in the way sometimes, but with determination and a lot of hard…
  • Dawn, we're so glad you're here. My doctor told me before surgery that I needed to do everything I could do to lose as much weight as possible in the first 6-9 months. He said after that, the honeymoon was over, and it would be much slower. I am so proud that you are continuing the journey...never give up.....and you will…
  • Good morning Becky and welcome to our group. You are in the right place for encouragement and support. I had the RNY on 11/30/11 and didn't have the band (I wasn't a candidate). I hope that some of our "band" members out here will read your story and provide some advice with the band. Some of the things you are…
  • Hi Susie! Welcome to the group and congratulations on your life changing decision to have WLS. I had my RNY on 11/30/11 and as you can see have dropped 53 lbs thus far. It hasn't been an easy journey thus far but it is worthwhile and I wouldn't change a thing! My biggest issue is getting food down. Liquids are no problem…
  • Hi Ladies...I'm in Waukesha and this sounds like a great idea!!!:flowerforyou:
  • Helllooooooooooooo everybody!!!!! A special welcome and hello to Susan and Becky!!!!! We're so glad to have you part of this group. I had my RNY on 11/30/11 and it was the best decision of my life! Has it been a bed of roses??? heck no! I'm still having issues with eating, and McDonald's Strawberry Banana smoothies with my…
  • Good morning! I am not 21 or more months out (only almost 3 to be honest). But I know people that are 2+ years post-WLS. My doctor counseled me that the first 6 months are the honeymoon phase and to do everything that I can to get as much weight off as possible. That's the phase where you see the greatest amount of weight…
  • Well I have just added macaroni & cheese to the list of foods my pouch won't tolerate (in addition to eggs). 3 bites yesterday and up it came. I have had some pasta (WW meals) and tolerated those pretty well. The doctor says if something doesn't go down well, wait 2 weeks and try it again.
