Totally agree...had to completely write my Owner's Manual. Everyone is different. That's all there is to it! I have a friend who maintains 160 pounds eating about 3000-4000 calories a day. Guess what? I can't! I got over it and figured out what's best for me...lower on the carbs, a little more protein, but definitely some…

When I first started, my weight just wasn't budging. I was at about 1350 calories, not eating my exercise calories, etc. Honestly, I think it was just that I was SO unhealthy and because of overcarbing, it took awhile for my blood sugar, and the rest of my metabolic system to catch up and start showing results. Hang in…

Deena...I accepted your request...let's get this DONE. :D I was at about 165 before gaining 20 back after surgery (230...yikes...was my highest), and it is at that weight I was most comfortable. My lowest last year was 159, at which point everyone thought I was too skinny (even my 16 year old, who is brutally honest!). So…

I gained a bunch of weight back after surgery in December (and lack of exercise)...I'm 5'8", with 20 to lose, and I eat around 1600-1650 a day when I'm following a proper plan. Perhaps some accountability to another member will help me stay on track for good. I definitely keep my diary honest (this week's a nightmare thus…

I know exactly how you feel. I lost 70, and gained back 25. I feel like I'm wearing a fat suit, and my thighs are, indeed, fatter than when I was this weight before. I know that once the switch in my head is back to loving myself and wanting the best for myself, it'll happen again. It'll happen for you, too. (I had surgery…

Men lose faster as well...that's not fair, either, but it is what it is. They typically have more muscle mass, we have more fat, which makes it more difficult. You are doing GREAT!

I have found this is just part of the process. All the hard work, etc, gets a little overwhelming at times, and we find ourselves resenting having to work so hard. They key is to get right back to it as soon as you can. I did a two week stint of overeating that had me gain 11+ pounds in early July, and I'm still working to…

HA!! This...

Amazing! I started out 10 pounds more than you...I know how hard it is. Great job! Keep it up! Now you know you can do it...you proved it. :D

I started in early 2012, determined NOT to be fat and 50 (my 50th bday is coming up in a couple of months), after spending much of my adult life that way. I was losing SO slowly that I almost gave up many, many times. In the past, I would join Weight Watchers, and easily be down 14-15 pounds in the first 3-4 weeks. This…

I think this is the key right here...it's how it's perceived. Women, many of whom already feel badly about being overweight/obese, will perceive it as a negative, no matter how politically correct...or not...the comment is worded. Self esteem plays a big part in perception. When I was younger, my mother or father telling…

I saw this and thought "what an *kitten*". On a serious note...jealousy is driven by insecurity, in BOTH sexes. The more insecure the man/woman, the more jealous they are. Lots of experience over here. I am not a jealous person, but I had an ex who was insanely jealous, and never ever for a good reason.

 I'm in...I don't have a ton of friends, and half seem to have fallen off the face of the earth.

:D Awesome.

My side by side is my profile pic. :D

And that is how you WIN this...that feeling when you hit the milestones! Keep going! You're doing great. You'll be at your next milestone before you now it.

Definitely eat at least part of them back, but trial and error will tell you what's the right level.

I've found the weight loss process can be really complicated...stress, pms, too many carbs...all have me craving salty/crunchy or sweet things. I was a huge carb over-indulger in the old days. If you can, do something different from your routine to get your mind off of it. I do something relaxing...lavender bath, soothing…

Woohoo!!!! Congrats!!! :D It's not small..it's huge, because it makes you feel awesome, right?

You look incredible!! I lost about a half shoe size...

I have to be honest...I didn't read all the replies. Clean eating/drinking is better for you. It can affect different people in different ways, using artificial sweeteners, but it can't be called "healthy". When you get to the point where your eating is under control, and you've made some much healthier changes to your…

My "girls" were the first to leave! LOL. We can't choose where it comes from, but nevertheless, if we're overweight, it doesn't matter...we're getting healthier when we lose!!

Something else you can do is bulk up that salad at lunchtime...LOTS more greens, a lot more tomatoes...it won't significantly add to your calories, but definitely will to your nutrition, and will fill you up, too. I use a food scale to weigh the tomatoes, to keep me honest, but I'll eat 3-4 ounces on a salad (instead of…

I know what you mean...as others have said..if you measure the amounts you'd really typically eat, it's really high. I NEVER ate what the cereal box had as a "serving". I did treat myself to some cereal recently, and measured very carefully. OMG...there was NOTHING in the bowl!! Food scale...it's a MUST HAVE. I don't even…

I gained two and wasn't even out of my calorie range! Just eating at different times on weekends does it. Every weekend, just about.

There's science behind it..when your cells are depleted from restricting your intake, and you eat a ton of stuff, they suck it all in and bulk up (particularly if it's a lot of carbs). LIke someone else said...if you get back to it right away, it'll be gone in no time.

Well done!!! You look amazing!
