  • He doesn't do that anymore. He admitted that it was horribly unhealthy and he was just eating high-calorie low-nutrient foods. He even admitted in another interview that the 12,000 calorie diet was more of a publicity myth than reality. http://news.menshealth.com/michael-phelps-diet/2012/08/01/
  • Lonerider Brewing (Raleigh, NC). If you like dark beers, their Sweet Josie Brown is amazing.
  • I grew up and didn't adapt my eating habits. I am 23 now, but up until I was about 20 or 21 I could eat anything I wanted and never work out...and not gain a pound. I hit that normal curve in life where teenage girls turn into women and haven't been taught how to eat/act in a healthy manner. Now I have to lose some weight…
  • I don't know about ya'll, but I am a woman. I do not have a friend named "TOM", an "Aunt Flo", a "shark week" or any of the above any more than I have "lady bits" or a "vajayjay". I'm a woman. I MENSTRUATE. Thank you. PS: Please keep your concerns off of my hormonal cycles, because they're not yours nor are they even…
  • My family has worked in breweries for generations, beer is a family tradition I can simply not give up. I just have to account for it in my eating/exercise.
  • I started the Depo shot right before I started dieting and exercising seriously. I have lost about 10 lbs in 2.5 months. The first three months of the Depo shot are considered the WORST, after that your body adjusts to it. I had really really bad hormones, like a raging PMS, for the first part, but then it evened out. I…
  • I used vitamin E oil on mine and they have definitely faded, since they are just scars. I started using it when I scraped my shoulder open badly and had a bad scar, and now that scar is almost entirely gone!
  • Considering American women have a 25% chance of being raped in their lifetime, I'll stay on hormonal birth control to prevent pregnancy. I was using the abstinence method, and then it happened to me and I got an STD (thankfully not pregnant though). I don't mean to be mean or off topic, but this REALLY irks me when people…
  • I've lost 10 lbs since starting Depo by exercising regularly and not eating everything in sight.
  • I saute up whatever veggies I have on hand (usually onions, zucchini, mushrooms, and bell pepper) and then scramble 2 eggs into that and top with salsa. I also add some cheese if I'm feeling sassy.
  • I am also coming from the perspective of a person who only drinks unsweetened green tea and water, so for me that is a ton, especially when they are claiming it is "no added sugar" and the box clearly says the ingredients are "water, sugar, etc"
  • It gets me buzzing too, but just because of the sugar! I usually drink a lot of caffeine, too.
  • I work at starbucks and they are touting it as some totally "awesome" way to energize without the coffee taste. It is just the caffeine extracted from unroasted, green, coffee beans. The claim is that one grande "refresher" beverage has about 1/4 the caffeine of an espresso shot, which is a bit more than a soda. As far as…
  • I don't make a smoothie out of it (I think that's what you thought I meant), I mean that the fish oil is in a paste consistency that they describe as a smoothie. You put 2 tablespoons on a spoon and eat it. There is zero aftertaste, no "funky" taste at all.
  • Barleans fish oil "smoothie" in peach mango. It is soooo good that I have to resisting drinking the bottle!
  • I am that person. It is one of my self control issues that I finally realized I just can't have it in the house. Any sort of ice cream I will go through, and if it is a pint I can down it in under 30 minutes in one sitting. I know, it is both impressive and terrible.
  • polenta (store bought, not homemade sadly), topped with diced chicken breasts, onions, mushrooms, zucchini, goat cheese, and salsa.
  • Ah I wish I didn't have a vitamin D deficiency! No matter how much sun I get, my body will never be able to produce enough to natural have appropriate levels :(
  • Thank you for this! I just searched the website and found out that my local co-op is a carrier (in North Carolina)
  • My doctor says that unless you already have existing cholesterol problems, don't worry about your egg consumption. I love eggs, they have really helped along my weight loss by giving me a good protein that makes me feel full for a while! You can throw a ton of veggies into them to make them super-healthy. I also read a…
  • You just made my Anthropology degree squeal with delight.
  • People keep saying that it does, but I honestly think it is an excuse. I don't want to play the blame-game, but I did go research what was out there and it says that it doesn't technically cause you to gain/unable to lose weight, but it CAN increase your appetite and water-retention. That being said, I don't think there is…
  • I'm a goat cheese addict. I seriously put it on everything I can. I have been doing high-fiber toast with goat cheese and an over-easy egg on top for breakfast. Also polenta with goat cheese, avocado, and salsa. Oh, and goat cheese on my Morningstar Mushroom lovers burgers!
  • I've read on a few medical sites that the highest intake you should have is around 2,500mg per day. If you regularly go over that, you are at risk for hypercalcemia, where you can develop kidney stones and your organs may start to calcify.
  • False. The iced coffee is a basic coffee that is brewed double strength and then iced. There is NOTHING added until the customer asks. If a store is pre-adding sweetener, then you should report them to corporate. It is standard in the recipe to add it, but it is not premixed anymore than we premix milk with chocolate for a…
  • False. I work at Starbucks and they iced coffee and iced tea are not pre-sweetened. However, it is considered "standard" to add sweetener to the iced coffees and teas, although most baristas will ask if you want it or not. Just liked whipped cream on frappuccinos and mochas is considered to be standard, or like pickles on…
  • I take the vitafusion women's bone and metabolism support, which is similar I think (except mine are gummies...cause they're fun and I actually want to take them). I didn't even notice the "metabolism" part when I bought it, I just figured it was generic gummies. I don't think the vitafusion ones have caffeine though. I…
  • Talk to your doctor. I had the same issue but it turned out it wasn't the hunger waking me up, but other stress/physical issues.
  • My mom and I both have acid reflux. but mine is not quite as severe as hers or yours. We both take omeprazole for it and it works really well. It is expensive but it does not require a prescription.
  • Love it in smoothies.
