  • I like using cottage cheese and balsamic vinegar as my main flavor sources (even better if its a flavored balsamic, I have lemon at home) and then chicken and lots of veggies
  • The general consensus in the research seems to be 1.4-1.6 g per kg if you are active and/or in a caloric restriction

  • Getting my step goal on my fitbit :)
  • I love using steadymixes.com to get new workout mixes! They have all different genres and I can discover new music without using wifi which is nice
  • What I prefer to use is an average over time instead of a day-to-day fluctuation, because fitbit's calorie calculations are funny. They seem to assume that you will continue to be active until midnight, which is not true most of the time. So possibly try using the 7 day average on fitbit to set your calories, eat at that…
  • I was 150 after freshman year of college. Dropped to 130s and then in my most recent cut I got to 121, although I think with water regain I'm settling at 123-124. Planning to cut again in August to 115. Feel free to add me, I have an open diary :) you can also follow me on instagram if you want at…
  • Also anyone who is a client is in a special Facebook group. We had a great thread about flute bridges and butts yesterday!
  • Patrick has helped me break through the stubborn 130 lb mark that I could never drop below on my own. So far I've dropped about 12 lbs to 127, and still (hopefully) going strong! I tend to let weight loss drive me nuts and Patrick helps me stay in line.
  • These great strawberry protein muffins: http://ifoodreal.com/whole-wheat-strawberry-banana-protein-muffins/ Add a little sugar or honey though. 100 calories, 9 g protein per muffin. Not the highest on the protein side, but they are portable and don't need refrigeration, which is a huge plus for me.
  • I think you should see a doctor, especially if you have insurance/can afford it.
  • I talked to SideSteel (who I will be working with once I move in a month, which is awesome!) and he suggested I keep trucking, pay more attention to random snacks and weighing, eat more filling foods, and put my scale up on a shelf for a few days and ignore it. I'm also doing a refeed to TDEE whenever I feel like I need…
  • Update. Things are not going well. To summarize, fitbit estimates 2300 TDEE for me, so I worked my way up to eating 2300. Was ok for a week or two, and then suddenly gained 3 lbs overnight after memorial day. It has not gone away. I tried doing a cut to get the weight off, starting at 2000 calories for 2-3 weeks. Nothing…
  • I am no doctor, but this doesn't sound like a training issue to me. Untrained persons can paint their walls without problems, and walk more than 50 steps uphill. I would see a doctor, maybe a physical therapist or something related first. This sounds a bit like (and I'm no doctor!) chronic muscle compartment syndrome. Jen…
  • From what I've learned in class, if your stool really smells, that means the fat isn't being absorbed and it's too much for you to digest. I haven't smelled it in person (it will happen in the hospital soon enough I'm sure) but I'm told its an unmistakable terrible smell. It's called steatorrhea if you want to learn more.…
  • Should I stay at 2000 or bump back up to 2300? Am I stressing my body out more with the deficit?
  • I really am at a loss on what to do. Still 135, been at a deficit all week eating at 2000 calories, with no movement. I'm starting to be really frustrated, this water weight came on memorial day, which is forever ago.
  • Yeah, I had gone up to 2300, and was going to go higher but I gained 3 lbs of water overnight and it isn't going anywhere :( I think my fitbit underestimates my workout burns...
  • 2324 on average over the last 28 days. 2356 over the last 7 days.
  • Still at 135. Went out of town on the weekend, but have been eating 2000 calories this week (12% cut) but it's a no go. Not sure what to do at this point other than keep on trucking and hope it's stress?? I had a big exam Monday so I thought it would drop after that but no luck. Edit: Waist measurement still pretty much…
  • Don't go hungry, because then it's super hard to resist the chips. I'm not speaking from experience or anything....
  • There is very little (if any) evidence that you need more than 1g protein per pound of body weight. I just set my percent to reflect that, usually ends up being 20-25%
  • You go girl! Remember to take it slow and be patient with yourself, it's a long road :)
  • Good on you! Yeah, it was really scary at first, and I think that sometimes when you read people's post when they're done they have a hard time remembering the bumps in the road. I do have to say, there were many days where I felt "bigger" but I'd measure myself and I'd be the same. That really helped me, personally. Good…
  • Krause's Food & the Nutrition Care Process It's the biggest book I own haha. Also like $150 on Amazon if you want a copy
  • Thought I'd give you some advice from my nutrition text book. I'm assuming EBF is exclusive breast feeding? My book says you can lose up to 1lb/week, and that it takes .67calories to make a mL of breast milk. It suggests to not eat less than 1800 calories per day because milk production can decrease. This is possibly why…
  • So its been a week and my water weight still hasn't budged. Had a few low sodium days, a few days where I drank a ton of water, lost one of it but it came back. So I'm going to start a 13% cut since it's a nice round 2000 calories and see what happens. I was excited to up my calories more, but I don't want to just sit here…
  • That's pretty cool and good info! I lost 1 out of 3 pounds of water weight, not sure if it was the extra water or the shot. Will do the same today, but with wine because the shot was awful
  • So I should take a shot to get rid of some of this water? Here I've been drinking gallons of water all day, that sounds more enjoyable!
  • Sigh... That's what I thought. I hope it goes away soon because I weighed in at 135 again this morning. Maybe school and life stress is doing it? I have a huge exam Monday, hopefully after that will be better because I want to keep going!
  • Ok, so I think it would be good to look at my post "progress log" which is my account of my journey so far. I had a similar past. Started at 1500, went up to my cut level thinking that would help. It did nothing. So I've been doing a full reverse and am now at the end of it. This was really hard because I had a trip to…
