  • When I was younger my parents sent me to Camp Shane. It is a weight loss camp for children up to age 18. They have an adult version called "Shane Diet and Fitness Resorts" and while I have never been to it, I've only heard good things. =]
  • Hey my fellow Irises! =] So, I'm still stuck between 266 and 268, but I've managed to kick my butt into very steady exercise. I know for me, especially, exercise is beyond important...My body doesn't respond as well to just calorie reduction... Anyway, I'm hoping to be in the 240s by my wedding. Smaller would be ideal, but…
  • Hey! I am definitely looking forward this new challenge. =] I've been hovering between 266 and 268 which I am not happy about, but I figured it is what it is at the moment. I can work harder...I will work harder! I would like to be at 250 by the end of the challenge, so around 16lbs. I would also like to lose some inches…

  • I go shopping at the beginning of the week, so in general my meals are planned out... But as for logging I'll log breakfast and lunch and snack in the morning to see how much I have available for dinner. My fiance tends to cook and while we generally have an idea of what we are eating, sometimes a wrench gets thrown into…

  • That's awesome! My soon to be hubby messaged me on OKCupid.com in November 2009. We actually first met each other on December 12, 2009. Started dating on January 9, 2010. And, we will be married on December 20, 2013. =]
  • I'm changing mine. I think if I had been published already, I wouldn't do it, but right now all that I have to worry about it teaching (goodbye ratemyprofessor.com under my current name!) and my degrees. =] kudeviz=>groff
  • Every pound I use I put 10 dollars in a jar.... But, I have rewards such as photo shoot, cyber goth outfit, new hair color, horse back riding lessons again, a new piercing, and the like. =]
  • I go to Chipotle! =] I get a bowl with brown rice, chicken, hot salsa, and sour cream (yes, I love sour cream so I get it regardless..so no cheese).
  • Way to go Team Iris! =] You ladies are awesome! And, with that, I must apologize for my dismal showing. Between my dad being in the hospital for what we thought was a heart attack and cake tasting (oh but it was so good) and my grandma's birthday party and valentine's day, I did horrendously. I'm hoping a chunk of it was…
  • I have to agree with everyone here. This is highly frustrating and I get way too emotional over this whole process. To make it worse, while I have lost 8lbs, it still doesn't bring to to where I was when I first started attempting to lose weight around my sister's wedding last year (I fell off that wagon hard). So I saw a…
  • Mm, my girls will get to pick out their own dresses but they will be in long black gowns. =] And we're making white stoles for them because I insist on getting married outside in December (in my defense though, it is South Carolina..not that cold! ~shifty eyes~) And all of the dresses sound beautiful. =]
  • My February goal is to have a loss each week. Also, to exercise at least three times a week. Sometimes I have not been all that great at getting to those three times.
  • Destanie, I'm sorry that you are having issues! I'm glad your mom and grandma are helping. My mom has been a huge help and it's great because I'm so busy. I'm sure you'll find a beautiful venue for your wedding. I wouldn't worry! And Jill, I am having similar problems with my future mother in law. I hope things smooth out…
  • I'm in Clemson, SC currently. =]
  • I'm 5'3 and 270lbs and I chose 150 because in undergrad I managed to get there and even though I was still technically "overweight," I felt good in the size 12/14. As I get closer to that mark, however, I plan on re-evaluating! =]
  • When I met my fiance a bit over three years ago I was about 20lbs smaller than I am now, which is still a lot bigger than I was before! And, I am the biggest girl he has ever dated seriously/dated at all. I'm lucky enough that he loves me now (+20lbs from our original meeting), but he does support me 100% and he is also…
  • I have used then Biggest Loser for the Wii which was okay....but I love the Zumba for the Kinect. I work up a sweat, and while it isn't as amazing as an actual class, but when wearing my HRM I burn at between 500 and 800 calories. =]
  • When I graduated I had to get a bigger size. Try speaking to the company you got it from. For me I went to the campus bookstore and they had larger sizes on hand. Try asking! If that doesn't work--spanx are good too. =] And congrats on graduating!!
  • I love potato bars! We are thinking of maybe doing a mashed potato bar. =] We aren't locked in yet; in fact I have an appointment with the caterer we used for my sister's wedding on Friday. But, I'm thinking of some ethnic food like Thai Curry or Indian Tikka Masala and pastas and meats (my fiance is Italian. xD)
  • Congrats! That's awesome!
  • I'm not cutting out anything completely, but I am cutting back on things such as cheese, cream sauces (I have a habit of getting those when I go out to eat), and portion size. I've tried cutting things out completely and I end up breaking horribly. xD
  • Haha, I love this. xD I remember the old two step too. =^.^= Good fun. Good fun.
  • This week starts teaching again-I teach at the local community college-so eating and exercise is all screwed up. But, this week I plan on doing Curves and Zumba tomorrow, Wednesday I'll do Curves, Thursday I'll do Curves, Friday I'll do Zumba, Saturday I'll do Zumba, and Sunday I'll walk. How about the rest of you? And how…
  • I definitely go by clothes. Last year I had started exercising and strength training and while I didn't lose weight I went from a 24 to a 22 in Lane Bryant pants. Also, as other said, the scale fluctuates wildly, so while I do look at that, clothes offer me more substantial pleasure.; =]
  • Thanks for the ticker! I usually lose weight slowly, so I can feel your pain. This week I managed a lovely number, but generally I lose between .5 and 1.5lbs. I try to focus on the small things, as was previously mentioned by Destanie. I focus on how my clothes fit. I also try to focus on the things I am doing well, such…
  • Hello ladies! Congrats to all the beautiful brides! I'm a 2013 bride as well--December 20th. =] While there is no way I will get to my eventual goal (at least not healthily) I still think it is possible to lose a good 40-50lbs before my wedding. Good luck to everyone!
  • -Sticking to the MFP calorie goal for me. Or as close to it as possible. I set it for 2lbs a week so hopefully even if I go a bit over some days, I'm still okay. -Work out five days a week. I have a Curves membership so between that and my Zumba game, I think I can swing it. -Weigh and measure food! This is a tough one for…
  • It's Sunday because I joined the Brides Fitness Challenge. Normally though I like to weigh on Fridays when I get up because I don't teach on that day so I can take my time, strip to bra and panties and face the scale. xD.
