Thank you all for your thoughtful responses. My endocrinologist had me on the diet I mentioned. Apparently it's a common diet for diabetics? I'm not sure. It really did work for weight loss when paired with my meds (which I haven't been taking), and I felt better. Could have been a placebo affect but it did work. I do eat…

Our daughter (15 months) just eats whatever we eat. Is that not feasible for you? Pastas with veggies, tacos, stews and chili, seared chicken with roasted veggies.

Up 1.5 :(

I'm quite a bit post-partum (15 months) but I still have 70 pounds to lose to be a healthy weight. Pre-pregnancy I was 205 - after two back-to-back miscarriages (starting at 160 pounds). I lost about 18 pounds while pregnant, then slowly gained it back during the third trimester. After giving birth I stuck to my thyroid…

I agree, coming of Effexor is the worst! I had no control over my emotions and went totally psychotic for awhile. Luckily all is well and it's been almost a decade since I had to take anything for depression. Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Yes, I recommend doing a search as there are some previous topics regarding various types of hypothyroidism. I personally have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and as a result my doctor put me on an extremely strict diet. Different people do well with different diets. My doctor said a lot of people with hypothyroidism are also…

Some fruit and some wine. Thank God for wine.

Hi all, my endocrinologist just diagnosed me with Hashimoto's. It's amazing to think that my body is attacking itself and causing hypothyroidism. He also gave me a very restrictive diet. Basically all I am allowed to eat is fruit, most veggies (no dark leafy greens) and lean protein (no fish). I'm supposed to avoid all…

I want the Garmin Swim, but it doesn't work with the HRM. I'm leaning towards getting a Polar FT4 for swims and logging cals burned manually into BodyMedia.

To fit into my favorite jeans again. I miss them so.

I know the pain, I've gained a lot of weight in the past year. It's amazing how easy it is to gain, and how difficult to lose. What's important is not popping pills, but improving your diet and getting active, and then keeping it up for the rest of your life. Good luck! (from a 5', 178 pound lady - so similar long journey…

Yup, having the same problem. Didn't sync last night, but synced this morning.

Crocheting a baby blanket for my sister-in-law (she's expecting). Slippers for my mother-in-law.

When I have a gym membership it includes: 20 minute cardio warmup, 40 minutes weights, 1 hour cardio (swimming). Yeah, I had a gym addiction when I was younger. But always weights before cardio (after a warmup), you don't want to have fatigued muscles when lifting.

I admit it, I teared up. I am so happy for you, you must be incredibly proud of this transformation. You look amazing!

For me it's been the reverse. I was so petite and cute for so long, it's hard to get used to people not opening doors for you, or giving up seats, or turning their heads to watch you walk. Very strange being ignored, and it feels awful. Get used to the attention, honey, it'll only get worse as you get smaller :)

Ahahaha, that's awesome. The things our bodies do when we're young. OP: I'm 5' tall. I had your same problem when I was in my twenties, so I ate ultra low cals (600-800) and successfully lost weight. All of it, all the way down to 109. And then my body rebelled and has been steadily gaining weight ever since. I now know my…

I seem to remember still having thigh rub at 109 pounds, my lightest as an adult :( I've used baby powder, but it doesn't really work with the five or so miles I walk everyday. If I wear skirts, I wear compression shorts underneath.

Last year my goal was to lose weight to get pregnant. I successfully lost a bit over 20 pounds, then gained it all back about a month later. How I wish we had tried to get pregnant then, because I am now 20 pounds heavier than when I started losing weight to begin with. That said, I did get pregnant a few months ago, and…

These look delicious. I'll nix the bacon and breading and throw them on the grill. I bet they'll be incredible!

Imagine if you were in his shoes. If my husband ever said anything like that to me I would be livid and justifiably hurt. Instead of harping on him about his diet and drinking (which you cannot change, by the way. People don't change for others, only themselves in the long run), why don't you encourage doing activities…

Awesome job so far, you are looking amazing!

peanut butter laughing cow wedge avocado & over easy egg I eat them almost every day for breakfast. Yum.

Just try to eat more whole, unprocessed foods that aren't pre-packaged, and fewer pre-made items. Apples, whole grains like quinoa, roasted veggies, etc. I'm 5' too, so I understand the struggle. I used to eat very little and it takes time getting used to eating more calories. But work out, lift heavy things, and try to…

111. I've been as low as 109, and I love the way I look at that weight. Everything looks good on me. Unfortunately, after years of yo-yoing this is a hard (and probably long) journey for me. Would love more five footer friends!

I love swimming, and the MFP estimates are probably not going to be very accurate. People vary in what they consider moderate/leisurely/fast. Definitely use your HRM next time and of course work on perfecting your stroke and getting faster. Breaststroke done right is excellent for toning your arms, abs and thighs. I think…

5' right here! And on a very long weight-loss journey. I could definitely use motivation!

I would love to. I will certainly try!
