I have never heard of "leaky gut." Interesting. I am sure that isn't the cause of all food allergies, though. I have never consumed even one tiny amount of fish or shellfish (I've been a vegetarian my entire life), but have anaphylactic reactions to both groups of foods. I have certainly been AROUND fish and shellfish,…

I've emailed two of my doctors. They aren't all that concerned and asked me to please take daily Vitamin D instead of the once-per-week dose to see if that helps.
-
I too have low Vitamin D levels, but the 50,000 IU/week I am taking now is causing me to GAIN huge amounts of weight (18 pounds in three weeks) instead of lose weight. This is a very unusual side-effect to the supplement (most people lose weight), but it is what has happened to me. Within 48 hours of taking the supplement,…

Cool! Based on that, I am probably 20% body fat?
-
Thanks! :) I am large-framed (at least according to elbow breadth and hip/pelvis measurements), so maybe that is a good thing? It would hopefully mean that my body fat is lower? I hope. If I recall correctly, my wrist circum. is 6.75" and my elbow breadth is just a hair under around 2.75". My entire family, except my…

Azdak, I'm just curious about that 32% you quoted. :) I know I need to get a REAL body fat analysis done, but do you think there is any way the calculation I got on the online calculator is correct? It calculated my body fat at just over 37%. :noway: I am 5'8", weigh 130 pounds, and have measurements of 36-25-36. I think I…

I just use vegetable broth.
-
WOW! That's amazing! Great work!

I used an online calculator and it said my body fat is 37%. :( I cannot imagine that is true. I am 5'8", 130 pounds, and am 36"- 25"- 36". It seems that 37% is really high.

I think pear? I am extraordinarily heavy in the hips and thighs. My measurements are 34-24-36, so I think pear?

Thanks! My BMI is currently 19.8, but I am all flab, no muscle. :o The only regular exercise I do is walking, Pilates (I do use body bands, weighted balls, and hand weights while doing Pilates), and biking/spinning (haven't done this in a while, but need to get back to it!). I just think I look fat. Maybe I need to tone…

I wore then when I was younger (25 and under?) and about a size 2-4, but I had completely flat abs then. :o I am now a size 2-4 again (possibly a 6 in some clothing), but I wouldn't even begin to consider a bikini. I think I am WAY too fat/flabby to wear one. I also think I'm too old. :o I know people older than me totally…

:cry:Three more days and still no response.

I'm only technically feeding myself, but I do a tremendous amount of baking for others and also cook two meals per week for others. I generally spend about $50/week on groceries.
-
Three days, no responses? :( Please? I need opinions from more than just myself and my dietician. :)

((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) You also said you were happiest at 110 pounds? (((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) I have an eating disorder. I've had it practically my entire life and have struggled significantly at times. What you have written here worries me. A LOT. You said all you care about is losing weight (or at least…

I've gotten that "Did it fit?" one, too. :( Perhaps that is because I have no clue what size I wear, though? I am a 34-24-36, which apparently means I am a size 0-2 at some stores, a 4-6 at others, an 8 at others, and a 12 in pattern sizes (so anything I make for myself). Size 0-12? Seriously? I wish I could get my hips…

This would be not just vegans, but ANY vegetarian. Or even if you aren't a vegetarian, but are allergic. :)

I am your height, approximately your weight, and am also recovering from anorexia for the third time in my life. I completely understand where you are coming from. Completely. ((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))) That being said... You need to see a dietician and a therapist who both specialize in treatment of eating…

Up until about six weeks ago, I was drinking 4-6 diet sodas per day, which I am sure had to have been problematic in some way other than to my wallet. I have slowly decreased my consumption over the past six weeks and am now drinking one or two diet sodas per week. :) I have started to TRULY love water.

*Shudder* There is no such thing as "looking anorexic." People with anorexia nervosa come in all shapes and sizes. You CANNOT tell by looking at someone if he/she has anorexia or not. You also cannot tell by looking at that person how healthy or unhealthy he/she is. Many of the many, many deaths due to anorexia are people…

I'm almost always hot, even though I am considered underweight (current BMI of 18.2). It seems like I am either hot and sweating profusely or freezing. There is no gray area.

Two pounds a week is the most you should lose.
-
I get mine at at Target. :)

I don't see that anyone else answered the question above. It is pronounced Keen-Wah. :) I just had quinoa with black beans, corn, tomatoes, and jalapenos for dinner. It was yummy. :)

I am only in my early-mid thirties, but I have bad knees. Mine have been surgically repaired several times and still give me issues. In addition, I have osetopenia (first stage of osteoporosis), which gives me additional problems. I walk. A lot. I got fitted for correctly-fitting shoes and I walk. Ironically, the more I…

There's no way to tell right now. Sorry. :) I am 5'8" and weigh 127 pounds. I am a size 4-6. When I was 5'9" (yes, I have shrunk!) and 120 pounds, I was still a size 4-6. My friend is 5'4" and 135 pounds and she is a size 2. Another friend is 5'10" and 145 pounds and is a size 4. Another friend is 5'3" and 115 pounds and…

I just went for a 1.5 mile walk, but I am sure that by the end of the day, I'll have in A LOT more miles (I do wear my pedometer all day, so I can track it. :)).
