  • I fixed this by altering the permissions in samsung health so that third party exercise data cannot be used by samsung health from the mfp app. So now my step count goes from samsung to mfp but nothing goes the other way and nothing is duplicated. Hope that helps!
  • Try setting it to the activity level you are without the exercise - if you're on your feet a lot then either lightly active or active - you'll have to make a judgement call on how active you really are, then log your exercise when you do it and eat back those calories. This way you'll get to eat more on workout days. Hope…
  • Though if you've put yourself as active because of the exercise that you do then you can't add those calories too as you'd be eating them twice. What have you set your weight loss goal as? And how much do you want to lose? If you don't have much to lose and you've set it at 2lb a week this could be why your calorie goal is…
  • My gall bladder is gone too. I'm able to eat all those things on your list with no problems, maybe I'm just lucky. After the op was just advised low fat and everything in moderation. Working well so far! Not sure why you would have been told to avoid those specific food items, especially the tomatoes, as all that would…
  • I use my Wii fit quite regularly and find that I rarely build up a huge sweat but it does provide variety plus it tells me off if I don't do enough or gain weight which helps with motivation! The exercises I enjoy most are step plus, boxing and hoola hoops. The yoga stuff is also good. Personally I am rubbish at the…

  • 2lb a week is brilliant! Surely what you want is something you can sustain so that you keep it up without starving yourself. If its working then why change it. I bet your friend is jealous.
  • olive oil cocunut oil hemp oil Personally I love the flavour of hemp oil
  • Try spinach, kale, watercress, nuts, apricots, prunes, raisins. Although if you're feeling that unwell it might be an idea to see a doctor?
  • I'm sorry but on what planet does drinking bleach seem like something that would benefit your health? I mean seriously! Sorry if that seems a little judgmental. Actually who am I kidding. Worst idea ever!
  • I have used slim fast for breakfast for a while with none of the side effects others have mentioned. They work for me as easy to prepare - I am sooo rubbish in he mornings! Also I like the taste and they do actually keep me full until lunch unless I have a big morning workout. So if you find them helpful for you then go…
  • Try high fibre foods too, they really fill me up
  • If you keep your activity level as sedentary then you could log all your walking as cardiovascular exercise. Or you could increase your activity level and not add the walking separately. Whichever's easiest for you but don't increase your activity level and log it as well cos then it'll be counted twice. Hope that helps!…
  • If you've set to lose 2lb a week then 2610 could be your maintenance and 1610 your calorie goal giving you a deficit of 1000 a daywhich works out as 2lb/week. Not sure how to make sense of the other numbers though. Hope that helps. Good luck.

  • Hi. Just wanted to let you know you are not alone with this. I spent most of my late teens and early twenties in an insane cycle of binging and starvation (never purged though). I would become obessed with each new diet e.g. low carb and take it to the extreme by literally cutting out all carbs and making myself ill and…
  • I use my Wii Fit but guess that would be a pretty expensive way of getting some scales...!
  • Obviously I don't know your exact situation but diuretics are usually used for oedema (sorry that's how it's spelt in UK lol!) caused by heart or kidney failure as those organs aren't working properly and fluid builds up. If you don't have these problems then the swelling is likely from a different physiological process…

  • The way I understand it that's fine as long you don't take the iron supplement at the same time as the wholegrains. Plus wholegrains are really good for you!
  • Personally I do use calcium and iron supplements as have a history of anaemia and have not been allowed to give blood either. I usually check how much I've managed on MFP then take whichever supplement is needed to correct any deficit. Although you shouldn't take calcium and iron supplements together as calcium can hinder…
  • With regards to fibre then it can be good for you to increase amounts slightly e.g. to 35-50g/day as diets low in fibre are associated with increased risk of bowel cancer. Also fibre is harder to digest so hangs around in the stomach for longer making you feel full. Downsides can be constipation and flatulence though!
