what do you do with all the stumps?

Since I really enjoy eating .. a lot .. I've found that what works best for me is that I allow myself cheat days when I want them and I just make myself work harder to absorb them (more running, lifting etc.). I don't deny myself what I want, I just make myself earn it.
-
honestly they'll both work fine if you are eating right .. P90X will help keep your muscles more toned and reduce the mass lost from losing weight while Insanity will probably burn more calories allowing you to eat more. Either way you need to set your nutrition accordingly to lose weight properly. btw, P90X plus running…

I've been running for 3 years now and taking a week off does make a difference (more so earlier in your running "career"), especially if your body was working overtime to fight the sickness. The good news is that it will come back, just keep pickin them up and layin them down.
-
For me the simplest way to explain the difference ... how much I eat determines my body size, what I eat determines my body composition. Exercise helps both. Sorry OP, off topic a tad

What he said .. and MFP is definitely going to help if you do it right. <--- on the left is with P90X alone, from 190 to 165, on the right is 3 months after joining MFP, continuing P90X and picking up running @ 150.

something is off then .. if you're 5'7, eating this way and exercising I don't see how you could possibly gain 10 pounds .. I mean fluctauting a few here and there sure .. but 10??

1. If I prepare, a 10K should be doable by July, even if it's slow and ugly, right? Yep, with the right preparation anything is possible. You have a good plan, just stick with it. 2. There is a local race on June 1 (I'm actually using a training plan put out by this race). Would it be a good idea to run the 5K there, just…

Maybe they just don't think it's as important as you do? Maybe their goals and lifestyle are different than yours? Maybe they've prioritized what they want out of life and have decided that exercise is lower on the list and thus they are too busy with higher priority items to get it in all the time? On a fitness site sure…

So it sounds like your problem is more motivation than anything else. You have to really WANT to run longer in order to be able to do so. It sounds like you've already made up in your mind that 3 miles is it. If you do want to run more then you have to first change your mindset. Finding a partner is great, as is setting…

Propel Zero packets work for me ... 0 calories, one pack per 16.9 ounce water bottle, works great to get rid of the bland.

forget I can't, say I presently struggle with .. and if you keep that mindset, someone who's dream it was to do 2 or 3 can turn it into 20 or more. -- Tony H Seriously just try and do one more than you did the last time, start shallow and go deeper when you start feeling stronger.

There are a few things that worked for me, well more than a few but here are some suggestions (not including the "slow down" suggestion as it has already been hammered in I think): * Give your body enough rest to recover and fuel to feed the exercise .. in other words get enough food and sleep. * Set small manageable…

Congrats! Make sure you give yourself ample training time before jumping to the Half .. 13.1 miles is a long way :)

Just ran 9 miles so that I wouldn't have to worry about eating over ... work out more to eat more baby!

Marrrrge .. You being a cop makes you the man! Which makes me the woman ... And I have no interest in that, besides occasionally wearing the underwear, which, as we discussed, is strictly a comfort thing.

I don't find that I run slower but I definitely feel heavier (probably all the extra layers). Breathing is easier than running in the thicker summer air so it kind of evens out. As for the cold ... maybe a hot shower? I'm always sweating like a pig after I'm done so staying warm is not an issue.
