you sound like me. I was a dance major in college which kept me kinda fit, but I was never able to run. I ran 3 miles for the first time this summer. Add me if you like. Good luck to you! =)

do you have a college nearby? some let community members join their fitness facilities for reasonable prices.

you could log each part of your workout separately. for instance, X minutes at 3.5, X minutes at 4.5. the cardio will total your minutes together. before i got my hrm i logged my total minutes and adjusted calories based on what the treadmill said. now i do pretty much the same thing but adjust for what my hrm says. good…

Thanks for the advice. This was the first time using the watch, and from what I understand the chest strap sends my heart rate to the treadmill. I guess for a little while I will split the difference until the numbers get closer.
-
Wow! You can really see a difference. Congratulations to you!

Usually sweet peppers and romaine lettuce for dinner. Lunch today was romaine lettuce, grilled chicken, and strawberries. Yummm!

Don't follow the plan. Find something else that works for you. When I started, my calories were fairly high and I wasnt eating well at all. After I dropped some weight, my calories went down and for some reason I felt famished. But I read an article about foods that fill you up for very little calories. Now I am ending…

I'm doing this on the treadmill. I walk at 3.5 and jog at 5.2. I have been doing my own version for a while so when I did all 8 runs today I didn't feel like I was going to pass out. I think they mean by going as slow as possible is that while we are just starting, we shouldn't try to sprint out of the gate, just get…

I did week one day 2 today and I'm liking it. Feel free to add me for some support!

I like sweets too. But tracking my food has helped me convince myself that the sweets aren't worth it. Now that doesn't mean I have sworn off chocolate, but when my entire dinner is about 350 calories the 200+ I waste on a Hershey's bar just isn't worth it to me. I have learned that a couple of Hershey's kisses can satisfy…

The tv facing the treadmill I like doesn't have closed captioning anymore so I can't listen to my iPod and read what is happening in the murder dramas.

Eating water dense foods (lettuce, bell or sweet peppers, strawberries, canteloupe, snow peas). They fill you up and don't have a lot of calories.
-
Honey and frozen berries. So good!
-
Wow, did they just put the whole salt shaker in your sandwich??? Love it when you go out and think you are being good (ok, at least decent).
-
Oatmeal with fruit like apples and strawberries
-
Small sweet peppers dipped in hoummus is delicious (lots of vitamin c too).
-
I loooove rice with sugar snap peas. You can get the kind of rice to cook in the microwave and the frozen snow peas that steam in the microwave. Add precooked chicken for some protein.

There is this stuff called Butt Glue that dancers and gymnasts use to keep their leotards in place. This might work to keep your shorts in place too.

I bring healthy choice meals for lunch at work. No its not me packing a lunch, but it's not take out or cafeteria food either. Or make extra of whatever you have for dinner, pack it before you you even eat dinner, put it in the fridge in a cooler bag with some snacks and you are already good to go for the morning.

Nonfat Greek yogurt with frozen berries and maybe some honey.

Green tea with ginseng and honey. AriZona makes one. Good hot or cold. They make a diet version too.
