  • I can relate to this as well... I'm back here after losing about 60 pounds five years ago - only to eventually gain most of it back. I'm now trying again, really just to become healthy as opposed to doing it to look better. I have all your struggles for sure. Feel free to add me as a friend!
  • Going to the doctor and getting weighed... being mortified at being over 200 lbs. I didn't have a scale at home; I knew I was overweight but didn't quite grasp just how much. The funny thing is my doctor really never said anything about my weight, go figure. It was just the stupid number on the scale that hit me hard.
  • I think if you work your way down to it, it's ok. What I mean by that is, for example, I started MFP at 1550 calories. Now I've just dropped to 1230, and while I know it's gonna be tough, it's also doable, especially if I work out, eat a lot of protein, and drink a lot of water. But I also don't stress too much when I go…
  • I just got rid of my one pair of size 16 and several pairs of size 14s. I've been out of them for 5 months and am not planning on going back, so while I was doing a little closet cleaning, out they went. My size 12s have now also been too big for a few months... but for some reason, I'm hanging onto them... insecurity…
  • Missed posting yesterday, 71 minutes. Today, 31 minutes - believe me, I'd love to blow off studying and chores and do some more, but it's not in the cards. 16:10 for the month.
  • I'm confused about why consuming a lot of fiber would stop your bowels from moving... wouldn't it have the opposite effect? (Although I seem to be having similar issues myself, and consume plenty of fiber, so what do I know?)
  • Just stayed on track and waited it out! Might have been excess water weight the time I gained...
  • I missed a few days... 10 minutes on 9/20 100 minutes on 9/21 (29 minutes C25K) 100 minutes on 9/23 (29 minutes C25K) 14:28 for the month.

  • Done with 15 minutes to spare. :)
  • Super easy and delish, but not super healthy - heat oven to 475 F, melt 4 tbsp butter (for 2-3 lb salmon fillet) in a roasting pan while oven is preheating. Place salmon in butter, flesh side down, roast for about 5 minutes, then turn and roast 3-6 minutes more. When salmon is done, sprinkle with salt & pepper to taste.…
  • Aww... can I be a crazy cat person without a cat? Had an awesome cat for 17 years who ran away 6 years ago, most likely to me moving somewhere with dogs. :( The only possible upside to that story is I didn't have to suffer through her dying. Please don't hate me for being a bad cat owner.
  • Yeah... my arms could use some work - I'm skeptical about my ability to do 50 before midnight, but I'll give it my best shot!!
  • Checking back in to report that happily my weight loss is back on track... 3 lbs down from last week. Hooray!
  • bump so I can read the full article later!
  • 37 minutes today, 10:58 for the month. <-- this is what I saw when I walked a teeny bit farther on my lunch walk today. A lot of San Francisco!
  • A whopping 13 minutes yesterday, so I didn't even bother to post. Today, 53 minutes, 31 minutes of which was C25K week 2 day 3. 10:21 for the month.
  • I love my ginger son! Wondering if his hair will change as he gets older though. His dad had red hair when he was little, now it's very dark brown.
  • It seems like it is double counting... that's why I leave my activity level at sedentary and log my exercise. If I bumped my activity level I guess I'd stop logging exercise. However... on week 2, I'm still only burning about 140 calories each time (per my treadmill - I go slow with no incline). I don't think that would…
  • Ditto to the Cheerios. I just wish I could get my kid to eat them again. He used to, but once he tried the sugary cereals there was no going back. I settle for Honey Nut Cheerios for him these days.
  • Hmm, maybe there is a trend here. For seven months, as long as I've been disciplined, I've been losing steadily. Last week I was quite good, and gained 0.5 lb. I wonder now if it is at all related to starting C25K. I just did week 2 day 2 today - I didn't really think this was long enough to build up any more muscle mass…
  • I am pretty sure I'm going to have to repeat week 2 as well. Day 1 was hard, and I did day 2 today, and it was even harder. And that's going 3.1 mph. I'm pondering whether it would be better to repeat week 2 or just take a shot at week 3. I'm leaning toward repeating week 2, so I don't get discouraged and quit, since week…
  • Very recently (like in the past week) I've become obsessed with kale chips. They are SO good. They're a little high in sodium, but otherwise seem pretty healthy. Also, I never ate Greek yogurt once before I got on MFP, and now I eat it regularly.
  • 62 minutes today - 30 was C25K week 2 day 2. 9:15 for the month. I'm wondering if I can kick it up a few notches and get to 24 hours walked by the end of September. Maybe I'll start doing longer treadmill sessions...

  • 46 minutes today - 29 of which was C25K, week 2, day 1. Week 2 feels like it's gonna kick my butt. 8:13 for the month.
  • I've been feeling pretty chatty lately, so feel free to add me.
  • I try to bring fruits & veggies in - like cut up apples, carrots, blueberries. And definitely a bottle of water - you can buy it there of course, but it's a lot cheaper to sneak it in. And I am a cheapskate. Edit: I try to bring those snacks, but truth be told, when I go with my family and they get popcorn and candy... I…
  • Thanks for that advice! I googled Nike outlet and it looks like there is one not too far from me, so maybe I can swing by there soon.
