I noticed that you have your weight loss goal set at 5lbs. I do not think you will notice any difference if you lose 5 lbs by doing cardio. If your goals are to get more fit you need to incorporate weight training or interval training as well as cardio if it's something you enjoy. You won't notice a change in the way your…

If you haven't eaten 14,000 cals over your normal diet, you have NOT “gained” a single pound (and no, you did not gain muscle). You are holding onto water weight which will fluctuate anywhere from 1-5 pounds easily, especially if you are new to working out. Always remember, it takes an ADDED 3500 cals to GAIN a pound just…

It's totally possible and I'm proof. I don't have pictures to post yet because right now I'm deployed and don't have a full length mirror anywhere -- very sad face because I would love to see my progress. But anyway, in the last two months I have went from 159.7 to 147.8 (started MFP on Mar 6) so this was about 12 lbs in 8…

I never understood that... how someone feels that it's ok to talk poorly or negativly criticize someone that they feel is already at their goal weight or very much in shape, but heaven forbid you say that about someone who needs to lose weight. We don't know everyone's story and how they got to where they are, everyone is…

^^^^ This You have to allow for rest days, they are just as important as the work out. They are hard for me too tho, and sometimes I feel guilty, but I've had to get over that feeling because I realized that it's just not true. Giving myself a time to rest is just as important as kicking butt in the gym.

Insanity was one of the most amazing workouts I've ever come across and def worth the money. I lost about 12 lbs in 7 weeks doing the program and noticed AMAZING results in my abs and legs (my problem areas). I had been stuck for about a month when I started the program and 3 days into the workouts the weight just started…

How did they check for that... Its tought to get our docs to do anything unless it's been happening for a LONGGGGGG time... that's the only problem I see with trying to get a doctor to look into it.

I went when it first happened, and being in the military I was given the standard - motrin and told to use heat. So I do, streaching, heat pad and take the motrin. I'm sure that's my best course of action, but I guess I'm wondering how long people usually take away from the gym... I obviously didnt' wait long enough. But…

I usually run about 1.5 to 2 miles when I run, but I would never concider myself a avid runner (i just don't enjoy it all that much, i'd rather do a hard cardio aerobic/insanity session any day!) But just this past weekend I decided to give a 5K a try, just for fun haha. I came in right at 30 minutes and set my goal for a…

You're doing it right then :-) (ok totally kidding! but not really) It's normaly to have those type of symptoms after over exerting yourself. It will eventually go away, but the key is to not push yourself TOO far i.e to the point of getting sick. Your body is telling you that you are working out really hard, and maybe a…

^^^ this Don't set yourself up for failure before you even start. When people first start working out, it a change to your routine, you are adding a part of your day that you normally didn't have. If you set it up to where you "only do your work out at such and such a time" if you miss that, you are more likely to get…

I LOVE being super tall with an extra high heel :-D I'm 5'8" and the taller the shoe the better IMO. I think that most girls are anywhere from 5'2'-5'6" (pretty sure that's avg hiegh last time I checked) and I like having something about me that isn't average :-) I say rock those heels if they make you feel good and who…

^^^ This... you HAVE to have a rest day... not giving your body a chance to recover is why you are weaker. Your body has to recover from the previous workout and grow (or over compensate) to prepare for the next workout. Rest is the key %100... diet should compensate for the days you aren't burning extra calories in the…

I am with you on this one! I've never enjoyed to run and especially the idea of running around a track (over and over and over)! I started the Insanity workout from beach body and I really didn't run at all while I've been doing the workouts. They were intense enough that I just didn't even have the energy to add a run in…

I've completed P90X and moved onto Insanity. I have to say, Insanity is something that I've become completely addicted to. At the end of week 7 I tweeked my back pretty bad (combination of working out too often, and a REALLY TERRIBLE mattress that I get to sleep on while deployed) so I had to take a week off and just stick…

Sounds similar to what happened to my lil pup... docs assumed she ate something that made her pretty sick, but after it passed through her system, she was fine in about 2-3 days... but it was sure a scare!

Someone who weighs 160 lbs may burn 584 calories in an hour when jogging 5 mph, while a person weighing 240 lbs could burn 872 in the same amount of time. Walking at 3.5 mph might burn 277 calories per hour if you weigh 160 lbs or 346 calories if you weigh 200 lbs. That's why.... Read more:…

I've really enjoyed the p90x workouts but I feel as if its lacking a tad bit on intense cardio. If that is one of you goals I suggest modifying it and replacing some days with insanity for an all around great cardio/weight training routine. Good luck!

I LOVE to weigh myself everyday because it's not a bad thing. I track it using this website and I really enjoy it :-) http://www.fourmilab.ch/hackdiet/online/hdo.html

@Hyde1977 - Great Idea, I never thought about making it it's own catagory! I'm going to do that myself :-D

The only drink I do not log is something with 0 Cals... I know I'm not accounting for sodium but if it has 0 cal, 0 sugar and 0 protein, I figure it's a free-be, just like water, but anything with calories I count ESPECIALLY drinks. One of the quickest ways to ruin a good day is to load up on sugery drinks and not realize…

I LOVE the retro look that is in right now and Modcloth.com has some of the cutest I've seen around. I'm 5'8" and 150lbs and I carry most of my weight around my thighs and butt and the bathing beauty swimsuit they sell was SUPER flattering and VERY cute! I got one in green and I figure if Marylin Monroe can rock it, it has…

Hello Everyone! This is the first time that I will be going from working out once a week to two a days but right now I'm currently deployed and really have nothing better to do with my time, so I figured, WHY NOT! MFP Name - Jailee813 My Plan: I'm on week 3 of Insanity and I LOVE it but I'm interested in getting a weight…

Thanks so much! It's always a good day to get something in the mail... I sent you a message with my address!

I would kill for an Avocado right now, but alas, I'm without due to my location. Thanks for the feedback, and yes, it was more of a question because I'm not focusing on anything really other than staying under my calorie goals, don't have any health issues to worry about thank god, but it was something I notcied so I…
