  • My reply to Ahole neighbors would be "I can lose the weight, but you can't cure stupid." ;)...I wish I could agree with the advice to ignore them, I guess I am not as grown up as I thought lol
  • I wouldn't worry about it...I worked at a tattoo shop for a few years (receptionist/piercer), had multiple piercings and would workout the next day. Just take a shower afterwards and use some saline spray on the area. Don't go rolling around in the mud or anything, and leave it the heck alone, the more you touch it/mess…
  • Well my intro to fitness was Basic training, and it is pretty much made up of bodyweight work and running. I am a HUGE fan of pushups, and have recently started being able to do full bw pullups. And I love taking the kids to the park, always turns into an extra workout for me ;). Took them to the school park for a bit…
  • Dude...seriously??? Just take a chainsaw to one of your limbs...ought to do the trick. If your doctor approved of this, time to find another doctor. You could inflict serious damage onto your body for a suit???
  • First of all...YAY for hubby coming back soon!!! :)...mine just left for his 5th deployment. Second of all, your legs look very good and proportionate to your upperbody. I had decent legs, but what has taken them to the next level, at least that's what I take from all the compliments :), is heavily weighted squats,…
  • Honestly I never really had much of a booty before incorporating heavily weighted squats and deadlifts into my leg day. Now I have to get jeans that fit my booty/thighs and get them taken in at the waist :) not to bad a problem to have :D
  • Eh i don't know about tea, but i do know that coffee is a diurhetic (sp) so I believe it is going to make you lose water, so I don't thik that should count towards your water for the day...And soda is just crap...I dont care if it is diet or not, so it shouldn't count towards a water intake either. But that is just my…
  • Love me some weighted twists on a decline bench, hanging leg lifts, plank. side plank, knee-to-elbows (have discovered these recently and i feel it like crazy), also ab roller, but you have to be careful not to go to far and put strain on the lower back, at least thats been my experience. I don't do a whole lot of abwork…
  • OMG!!! I love this post!! Although I only have 2 boys, 11 and 7. I believe my highest weight was between 230 and 240. And let me tell you on 5'3" that is not a good look. Now when I am out and about running errands, people comment about how I look so good that I can't possibly have kids. I take it as a bit of a left handed…
  • I quit cold turkey about 3 yrs ago I had one every once in a while after that. But I haven't had one in well over a year now. I just figured how much money was being puffed into smoke and put it down and started working out :) Now a good sweat session is my drug of choice :D
  • Water weight loss is short term, it only lasts until you rehydrate. Please don't waste your money on these. An articlie of clothing isn't going to cause you to lose weight. There is no quick trick. Put in some hard work (exercise) and show some discipline (healthy eating)
  • I agree with everyone else, you have to fuel your body!!! Also it sounds as though your losing buddy has more to lose than you do. With significantly overweight people, I believe they lose faster because they have more to lose. I know my body has slowed in weight loss now that i am 10 pounds shy of my goal, than when I was…
  • It helps to workout through the soreness, of course that means just sore, if you have pulled something or have truly injured yourself then you should rest. That being said, I don't feel like I've done enough if I'm not sore after a workout. I know that isn't true, but what can I say??? Maybe I'm a bit of a masochist lol
  • People who don't support you are toxic, and life is to damn short to have those kind of people in your life. Kick em to the curb girl.
  • I think you should slowly warm up first and then get a good stretch session (focusing on the calves especially) in before you take off for a jog. Also, you might want to reevaluate your footstrike. My introduction to fitness was in basic training and the Drill Sergeants told us to run, striking with our heel first. Well, I…
  • I used to be in the Army and also have worked for the Army as a civilian, and am now married to a man in the Army. As for losing weight, its simple math hun, calories in vs calories out. Now if you want to prepare yourself for Basic, thats a whole nother beast ;)
  • It doesn't matter how fast or far you can run, you are still doing laps around those who are still sitting on their butt on the couch. You may want to try walking with jogging intervals. That's what I started doing, pushing myself every time, until the walking intervals disappeared, and it became jogging with sprinting…
  • Yeah...it can be nice to have someone to go with. But it seems all the people i know either dont like the gym, or say they want to but are to flaky to actually follow through. And alas, my hubby wont go either. I always get so jealous when i see other couples there :( Oh well...I would suggest if you go at a certain time…
  • My first set is usually moderately heavy (between 5 and 8 reps) second set heavy (lucky if I can get 5 reps) and then the third I go a bit lighter than the first set and go until failure (usually around 10 or so) At least it is what I started doing recently and I like it so far. These numbers are from my recent 2nd sets…
  • Well if you can I don't see why not. When I have a sore throat i tend to cough alot, especially when I get to moving :) Especially if you are on antibiotics, you aren't contagious...I say go for it, but then again people tell me Im crazy for all the running I do :D have to be on my deathbed to skip a workout, or if the…
  • You have to rest and recover, because that is when your muscles repair and rebuild, that is when you actually get stronger. So rest days are crucial!! That being said, I have a hard time on rest days as well lol :)
  • Start now!!! Strong is sexy!!! Women do not put on as much muscle as the boys because guys produce much more testosterone. So lift as heavy as you can, with proper form of course :)
  • Well it is my leg day so I feel a bit inclined to jump in on this. Squats with heavy weight, also love me some goodmornings :) they are amazing for the hamstrings, which from what I have noticed acts like a butt lift :) and I also feel them in the lower back, lunges, step ups, body weight one legged squats. In between sets…
  • Love this post!! I absolutely love when i have to get new workout/running pants due to them sliding down :) And Im so jealous of all the girls with supportive hubbies who actually notice them :) sounds like ya got a good one girl!!
  • I like to do a 10-15 min warm up jog, then strength training, then cardio. And women don't gain muscle as fast or in the same quantity as the boys, at least not naturally. They have testosterone and we don't.
  • I absolutely love working on a decline bench when it comes to abs!!! try weighted situps on a decline, or twisting side to side (like where your hands touch the bench under you) with a weighted medicine ball while leaning as far back as you can. I was feeling the burn yesterday :D
  • I am going to go with full body weight pullups, just because I can't do them yet :(... I am getting closer though :) I told my hubby I was going to have a party when I am able to squeeze a few of those out :D
  • Its called the table pushback...abs are made in the kitchen. At least thats what I have always been told. Everyone has abs, you just have to shed the bodyfat for them to be visible. That being said, a mixture of strength training and cardio are great ways to burn fat :)
  • I sooo went through this when I started my fitness journey, not the widening part, but definitely an awkward stage. As I first lost weight in my boobs and booty, and I still had a gut lol. My hubby told me I had to quit losing weight and that is when I went into ultra-*kitten* mode and told him this was for me and not for…
