  • Potatoes are probably one of the best calorie > carb ratio you can get right next to rice and is one of my staples for my daily meals. I'd just ditch the bread in favor of a healthy fatty food. My preference is avocado.
  • Get one. I can't stress this enough. If you want to properly record your food you're going to need one. I picked one up at Target for $20 I think. Great investment.
  • I'll go ahead and say I think OP meant going over your cal limit by a few/few hundred cals to hit a certain amount of P/F/C...not eating 3k+ cals as long as you met your macro percentages.
  • None, unless you're looking to gain you should be getting your protein intake from foods. Reason being is that protein shakes go through you quickly, leaving you hungry not too long after. Protein powder is a supplement. It's meant to supplement you're daily intake and assist with hitting certain macros. When I bulked I…
  • Once a week, usually every Saturday or Sunday, whichever I feel like. I eat what ever I want, but its within my caloric range. I tried going 2-3 weeks at a time and I just burnt out.
  • ^ But if you're say 200 pounds Now and want to lose 20 pounds. You need to figure your req's for what you want to weight, not what you weight now. MFP doesn't properly scale protein needs for active people.
  • I second the Polar FT4. I have one. It has settings for your Height/Weight/Age and tracks Calorie Burn far more accurately than most equipment.
  • No Cassie, we were literally laying down. The "push-ups" only were from the stomach up. From the waist to feet were prone on the ground. ~edit~ Cassie they're called prone push-ups. They also help work out the lower back. Alternatively, OP, you could do something like this where there is far less stress on joints:…
  • you aren't gonna lose muscle on a 10 minute jog. when you start doing foolish things like running for 2+ hours is where it starts affecting muscle gain negatively For me, it's a 10 minute warm up on the treadmill then stretching, do my lifts, and then 10-20 minutes of treadmill, usually 3mph at half the max incline of the…
  • Inverted row is a back exercise kitty. mainly rear delts and lats, anything in the upper back area.
  • We used to do these weird push ups in the Army where you just lay down on your stomach and did push ups that way. t was so long ago I forgot what we called them. This way you aren't putting a substantial amount of weight on your joints. I may be wrong but a normal push up uses only ~50-60% of your body weight (I may be…
  • Pantera and Lamb of God dominate my ipod. Other stuff thrown in there as well.
  • Whiskey or Brandy for me, no ice, no mixers.
  • :D I love me some Ruination.
  • Sometimes its not fun...at all. I need 5-6k kcals on weekdays due to my job. Try eating a healthy amount of food to equate up to that many calories. I'm almost always short by 1500-1800 on top of my normal 500 deficit due to the sole fact that I'd have to eat every 1.5 hours on the button. I just can't consume that much…
  • I drink my Metaxa and I log it, however much I have, which isn't much (1-2 ounces) With needing 5000-6000 calories on weekdays, it doesn't really affect me too much.
  • I have this same issue as well. I'm up ~1330 and go to work at night, I get home ~0430-0500, and in bed by 0700-0730. From the time I wake up to the time I go to bed is when I set my "Day" at. So even if its Wednesday morning @0600 and I'm eating before bed, I still count that as Tuesday.
  • Theres this one guy at the gym I go to. He loads up a squat rack for his curls, does a set and walks away. I stroll along, seeing noone there, intending to do deadlifts and he comes hollaring from the other side of the gym. I can deal with people sitting on a machine taking a rest between sets, but if you use a machine or…
  • I work at UPS so I burn up to 3k extra calories just from work & lifting. So with that said: Water + syntha 6 on the weekends to keep the calorie intake low, I like to do 2 maybe 3 shakes. Skim milk + syntha 6 on the weekdays for the extra calcium and cals with the same 2-3 shakes. If I add rolled oats to the mix, I make…
