Another nerd here (gamer, sci-fi/fantasy reader), . Everyone feel free to add.

It's not how many times we fall that define us - it's how many times we get back up. You're back at it working the program, and that's what counts. We're all cheering for you!

Everybody was brand new sometime, and in my experience most of the guys and girls there are pretty supportive. The ones that might come across as tacturn at first might just be worried about looking like creepers or cheesey pick-up guys. Most of those places have resident trainers who can advise you on a good set of…

Hi, I'm James. I'm 47, 5'11", and currently about 209 pounds (down from a high of about 225). Target weight would be around 180. Would appreciate any support you can give.

Another nerd here. Add me if you want. I read a LOT of SciFi/Fantasy, and am into computer games (mostly TBS and RTS). Used to roleplay a bunch of Shadowrun, but the group fell apart.

Also new (or at least just getting back after long abscense). Let's team up and cheer each other on.

Also new (or at least just getting back after long abscense). Everybody is welcome to add me, and we'll all cheer each other on.

I'm also new, and would love getting some more friends for mutual encouragement and to hold me to account when I slack off. Everybody add me too!

Just getting started, but I think one change that might be making the most difference is cutting out soda. I was drinking like 2 liters a day, and now I'm just water all the time. After I kicked the caffeine addition (which sucked, but just for a couple days) I felt much better, my complexion has cleared up, and I feel…

If you have a job that keeps you active and on your feet all the time, you might not need one. But if you're like me and have a job sitting behind a desk all day, it's a helpful reminder for me to move more. It also helps keep you aware of how much good, continuous sleep your getting. I tend to get focused on things (work,…

Thanks for the advice.

Thanks, I'll look them up.

Soy I think this should have gone in a different section. If someone could tell me how to move this to the fitness section, or just how to delete the message, I'd appreciate it.

Good job on getting so close to your target weight. I still have about 30 pounds to go, but I'm cheering for you!

I'm new back to the forums too, and can use the motivation of being with a like-minded group. Please everyone feel free to add if you want.

People who try to tear you down aren't worth your time. You're doing great and making good progress - you should be proud of yourself.

I agree with everyone else who's said that you should find something that you enjoy. But one thing I'd add is that, if possible, you should find something that's also in some way social. Find a group that likes to walk together, or take dance classes with friends, or whatever. If you're with people you get along with the…

Same situation for me. Back on diet for about a month but first day back here. Friending now...

Welcome back, We're cheering you on!

Welcome Bugzillah (great name btw). Sounds like you're already making great progress toward your goals.
-
Welcome to the site and good luck with the program (and with school)!
-
Welcome back. Sorry for all the recent hardships, but I hope that means it's a good time for a fresh start!
-
Hey, just joining after a couple years away. If you haven't read them yet, would recommend adding the Patrick Rothfuss series (Wise Man's Fear, Name of the Wind, Slow Regard of Silent Things).
-
Hey, welcome back! I'm in the same situation - just back after a couple years hiatus. We can cheer each other on.
-
I'm the same - just came back after two years away. Welcome back!
-
Cheering for you! Sounds like you're headed in the right direction now. I'm just starting also, and hope that with a big network of friends here on the site it'll be easier to support each other and stay on track.
-
Great progress so far! Sounds like you're on the road to a whole lifestyle change, which is very impressive. You give people like me who are just starting out a great example to follow.
-
Welcome SammyKel! I'm just starting too! What are your goals? I'm shooting for about 35 pounds of weight loss and some general fitness improvements.
-
Welcome, I'm new too! Hope your goals get met and know that we're in your corner cheering!
