DANG Way to go!

WOW! So inspiring!

Keto works because it cuts out super high calorie dense foods like bread and sugar. Bread, french fries, candy...all stuff with a TON of calories that don't keep you full. Not to mention sugar is just generally not good for metabolism, but that's secondary. They get full on less calories is ultimately why it works.

Because they taste better.

I'm 6 lbs down and getting at it. Saw a picture of myself from 4 years ago when I was constantly working out and well....I'm going to get there again :)

Basically that's exactly what she's saying. Her argument even states that she eats these 'better calories' because with 150 calories she's full. And that's what people can't seem to understand....if you eat nothing but vegetables and chicken you're very likely to lose weight because they are not calorie dense. It's very…

I've done (and am currently doing) Keto which is low carb, high fat. Weight still boils down to CICO and I believe that 100%. However, what Keto (or others like it) do is cut out foods that are calorie dense. 200 calories of chicken/beef/pork/whatever is going to fill you up a lot more than 200 calories of…

I think most people on MFP know that a workout only gives you a little more breathing room on your calorie count for the day. Now, the general public thinks that if they work out they can eat pizza, wings, FF, burgers, etc for every meal and lose weight so the message to the general public is a good one. Weight loss = what…

Dang son :) Very well done.

Not directly to your question but related. I gave up caffeine completely about 3 years ago. Never had so much energy in my life. The main reason is caffeine prevents the adenosine in your cells from calming your body down. The problem is, your body burns energy at a faster rate and when the caffeine effect wears off,…

Ditto the avocados, can only stand them if they're in guac.

Is that in Colorado?

Mellow Mushroom might be my favorite pizza chain anywhere. The crust is almost good enough to eat on it's own then you add on some good fresh toppings....yum :)
-
I agree with others that the only thing that has changed is the value I place on it and the quality of pizza I want. I am not interested in Pizza Hut, etc because that's not worth the sacrifice. But you give me a really good pizza shop that will pile on fresh meat and veggies and has a delicious crust? Oh yeah. I'll…

<3 <3 <3 Nice work! I must say When I saw what you did there Pizza deserves an ode

Your progress is awesome! My fiance and I are two weeks into Keto. I've lost a couple lbs, but she hasn't lost much and she's getting a bit frustrated. I think we probably could do a better job with our eating. Most days we stay under 20 net carbs, but we've had a couple cheat days.

You cook or clean but shouldn't be both.
-
Honestly I read that and think..."What's my excuse for not working out? She's running a madhouse and still gets workouts in". You sounds like a badass :)

As others have said, do what works. We both work full time. She probably does 60/40 (she might say 70/30), but I also handle all the cars/lawn/etc. 99% of the time if she asks me to do something I jump up and do it. She makes a great home for us. Plus she can decorate, which I cannot.

1. Hit my calorie goal 2. Get a workout in over lunch 3. Encourage my girlfriend

This really resonates with me too. I work in IT and I have some friends that are SERIOUSLY decent guys. Would treat a woman awesome but especially with online dating will never get a 'shot' because they have physical (unchangeable) attributes that are less appealing. They try to improve themselves, but some things (height,…

I thought we talked about this, you're too tall for heels :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: As a guy who's dating, I would consider smart, successful, stable as HUGE positives. But it's not exclusively that. You would have to still look good and take care of yourself. Just like if you looked crazy hot but held a conversation…

Love the bolded part. Because what you are is often what you choose to be. In other words, when people say, "I just don't have time to work out" what they're really saying is "I spend my time doing things that I think are more important that I give my energy to". It's not a bad thing, per se, it's just prioritizing…
