Pizza is ruined!

I had my first meat lover's pizza in a while last night. Blech. I can't believe I used to crave this stuff. It was so salty. And greasy.
It's amazing what changing my eating habits at the beginning of the year has done. My taste buds are much pickier now. Pizza is no longer a comfort food.
And in the end, I guess that's a good thing.
Has anybody else had a favorite food change for them?

No...I have pizza most every Friday evening along with movie night with my wife and kiddos...we have a favorite local pizzeria that uses very fresh, high quality ingredients...it's delicious...can't wait for tonight.22

Kebabs from the take away! Greasy, doughy, soggy and the chicken tastes funny. After a year eating fresh chicken and vegetables it's make my take out taste like mush!6

Not Pizza. Pizza can't be ruined for me...but I haven't really changed my eating habits as in what I eat...but I HAVE changed how much I eat.
Instead of four slices of pizza and gorging myself until I burst, I eat two slices and fill up with high volume, low calorie veggies for the rest of the meal.
Or instead of the entire bag of chips, I weigh out a portion, put it into a small dish, and eat it slowly.11 -
I can't say I've had any change in my appetite. I eat certain energy-dense foods much less often, but I still want and enjoy doughnuts, pizza, ice cream, and imperial stout.7

For me it's certain types of potato chips.1

I like the foods I've always liked, but I steer away from those I just compulsively binged on.5

The only way you can ruin pizza is by putting pineapple on it.
Yeah, I went there. Bite me.35 -

Good pizza and great wine together is still my version of heaven. But crappy Pizza Hut pizza...not even worth it now. I can't think of anything that's actually ruined for me - just things that are no longer worth the effort.8

My favorite pizza is pepperoni and PINEAPPLE, we could def never be friends....

This morning I mixed a batch of pizza dough from which my daughters will separate 6 individual dough balls. The recipe called for 14 grams of salt. 14/6 is 2.33333 in each of my pizzas. I treat it as an occasion to drink more water, but I'm not going to quit eating my thin crust Neapolitan pizza several times each week.4

Definitely not pizza! Although I do prefer the thinner crust now. Do yourself a favor and make your own - fresh dough, toppings of your choice - yummy! (Add me to the pro-pineapple club!)
Doughnuts are absolutely, positively not worth it to me anymore. Used to I'd grab one if someone brought them in to work just because they were there. Now I'm not even tempted. Pigs in a blanket, on the other hand...6 -

LMAO. I was going to post the exact same thing.7 -
When I was seriously restricting calories down at 1200 a day (before I figured out that way sucks) I ate some french fries after eating low fat/cal for 3 months and I got really sick.
They still tasted good, though. Just had me in the bathroom for hours.
I have pizza and beer every Friday. It's still the greatest. I do only eat a piece or two, though and I make my own. But none of that funny crap with cauliflower crust. I just make a bangin pizza.7 -
The thing that truly shocked me calorie-wise that I completely avoid now is Tim Hortons timbits. They're so light and fluffy, it didn't seem like a bad snack. To find out they are 60-80 calories EACH, and I used to eat a 10 pack myself as a snack between meals - I was floored.2

chips. i didn't eat that much before i lost the weight either ,but i can tell the difference now. When i started dieting, i bought a multipack of lots of mini bags of chips. I ate a few here and there but after a while i stopped. Recently i noticed they were close to expiration date so i decided to finish them. They were so freaking salty! I can't believe i hadn't noticed before.1

I'm scared of pizza after i logged it in one day.3

Hey get this, I started adding 10 grams of Chia seeds to my pizza. It works.3

Pizza and beer are my huge tempting things. If I know I'm getting pizza and beer in the evening, I'll just adjust my intake for breakfast and lunch and spend some extra time jogging. Typically, I do that anyway. I'd rather save my calories for a nice, healthy meal and a couple of evening beers than spread it out over the day. Dinner is social time and I'd rather save the good stuff for that meal. Daytime calories are just fuel to get me through. It helps with my will power knowing there's a "treat" at the end of my day.

Cheetos. I still have pizza once a week at our favorite pizza place, but can't eat a lot of it anymore. Sometimes it does taste greasier than pre-journey days. Now I do crave healthier foods (veggies and fruits) over chips and dip or Cheetos.1

I used to love KFC original recipe. Since getting used to not having it, the occasional "treat yo' self" kfc meal turns into "blow up yo' toilet." I can still enjoy some foods there, but original recipe is all but off the menu. Yeah, not even entirely off. :shame:11

Same. (Well, not the movie night bit, but regularly having pizza from a local Italian place, as well as a few other good local places or homemade, and still enjoying it.)
I ate a pretty whole-foods, homemade based diet, and I am kind of a foodie (I love trying new things when cooking, new local restaurants, different types of food) and ate lots if fish and vegetables and all that, and didn't really find that my diet was geared a lot toward any particular sort of food (not especially salty or sugary or whatever), so I haven't found that what I eat or what I like to eat has changed that much. (I do think, on average, that what you eat affects what you want to eat.)
The high cal things I love (like really good cheese among many others) are still things I love.2 -
Pasta sauce from a jar. Vile.
So much easier to make a large pot of bolognese and freeze a couple in batches. Even my children won't touch the ready-made stuff anymore and they're not always fans of my home-cooking.4 -
Nope, still love it even if greasy. I eat much less junk and fast food than I used to but my body still NEEDS crappy food and alcohol sometimes hehe.5

I would say chain pizza is ruined for me, but only because through this process I have found that I enjoy making my own more. So, pizza is still a winner in my house, but we changed the habit from delivery to making our own. It just tastes so much better.3
