Thanks! I had a nice nap today which helps. I've got an arm brace I will wear tomorrow for the performance and the adreneline rush will probably help with the pain until after I'm done. I've got an ice pack I'll use between sets. It was nice bc I've been in remission for a long time with bearable pain, but with the stress…

Don't start off letting your MIL dictate how you conduct your life. Believe me. Dr Phil once said that each spouse handles their own family members: your husband talks to his mom.

Hope this works. Ive gone 12 miles so far. Hmm I made a ticker but can't figure out how to do anything with it...

Yes. I tried it when it first came out. I lost 7 lbs by the end if the month. I know I lost inches but don't remember how much. I liked the food and I even went on it another time. I succeed in more regimented diets and this one fulfilled that for me. Now I'm just following low-cal and it works for me, I've lost 17 lbs.

I was within a few ounces of goal #1 and 6 lbs to final goal last week. What happened? Christmas! It is all within my grasp I'm not giving up. I joined the Cupid challenge from Jan 2nd to Valentines Day I think I can make it happen in that time. 6 lbs from goal!

You already know how to lose weight if you've lost 70 lbs. I'm concerned about the 'I'm so sad' part. When you get counseling for whatever the problem is, your life will change for the better. If you cannot afford counseling, call your local crisis clinic, they are there to help you.

I just have to jump in here bc I see myself in your comments. It's funny that I didn't notice this before. I mean, I knew I did it but never brought it out into my conscious mind. I guess it's time to address my secret eating. I know why I started doing it (back in my teens) but why do I continue to do it? That anxious…

I only saw one day of your diary, but I would say eat more 'real' food. Snacks aren't satisfying and you'll want to go looking for more. For instance a nice chicken breast with a salad and cooked vegetables for dinner A good breakfast of oatmeal or healthy egg dish. It can be tricky fitting food into 1200 cals a day but…

Getting back to MFP after 2 month absence. I gained, of course but just a little. I am posting my December goal for accountability: Go on MFP each day and plan the day's food ahead. Of all the plans I've ever been on that is the most effective thing I can do. Especially during the holidays. Thanks for being here!

Great post, Dawn. Everyone who has dieted has had to sort through the sea of information to find the facts. Reading through fitness pal posts can add to the confusion if we don't have the facts. I just finished a class on nutrition and it only scratched the surface of how our body functions and what it needs. There are so…

The 1st step of the famous 12 step AA list is to 'admit you are powerless over alcohol and that your life has become unmanageable.' This is not just a statement for the alcoholic but for us, too. We are powerless over alcohol, too. Our lives have become unmanageable, too.

Only 6 over now! Getting closer...

This person always ate so unhealthy, I couldn't encourage them. Others would say 'good diary' and I would look and see cup of coffee bfst, diet bar. Lunch would be chips, dinner would be fries or whatever. So 600 cals. I wrote a few times with concern and then didn't want to encourage this lifestyle. Can they tell when you…

Great topic! My auto circuits take me to the sugar aisle at the grocery store on my way home from work. I 'reward' myself after a hard day. But all it does is trigger a sugar binge. So today, I won't get candy at the store. I'll think of this post and remember why I joined MFP originally. I've been on a plateau since May…

It's been 9 weeks for me. Don't want to think I'm going to eat 1200 cals on maintenance. When I eat 100-200 more, the scale goes up. I can't 'lift' for physical reasons, but I've been walking more and toning up. The scale just doesn't MOVE.

Hungry girl website has some great snack ideas. I portion out baggies ahead and just grab one. I know it's going to be 100 cals. One combo has mini marshmallows, reeces pieces and mini choc chips. This link has more than 30 ideas. http://www.hungry-girl.com/newsletters/raw/1045

Go up to SEARCH and look up 'A Binge is a Message' by Geneen Roth. She is a sensitive writer who has been through everything we have when it comes to eating. You can find her books in the library, I have read them all.
