  • I'm just the opposite. I love cardio but the only weight training workout I have found I like is Body Pump. Added two classes a week last month.
  • I'll add you. I keep falling off the WFPB but it's my goal to do better this year!
  • I am considering the same thing. I used to get up early each morning to workout before going to work. Then I joined the gym. I can't go to the gym before work because I have to get my daughter off to school. So by the time I get off work it's often crowded or my daughter as some after-school activity (dance, Girl Scouts,…
  • I have a hard time with boots, too. Even before I started running 5 years ago. And ankle braclets -- they are never big enough. I have found some boots in regular stores at the mall though -- but yes I try on several pair just to find a pair that will fit. Western stores have a more limited selection if you want something…
  • My current fave is a peanutbutter, banana and granola wrap. I slice the bananas and sprinke w/lemon juice to prevent browning before putting them into the wrap. Sometimes I have it for breakfast, sometimes lunch. And if it's a day I know I am going to run after work, I bring it for a pre-workout snack.
  • I lost my first 30 lbs on WW. Then I hit a 7 month plateau -- I quit and it's slowing but surely coming on off. I think my body needed a change and I found that (new ideas, recipes) here.
  • I am NOT good with diets either! I don't like them and don't stick to them. However, I can do lifestyle change. Moving from flexitarian (which I have always been) to vegetarian was the easiest lifestyle change for me. Much easier even than I thought it would be. Currently I am moving toward veganism -- I eat vegan about…
  • So sorry for you loss! I'll do a run for Andy!
  • I actually have a lot more energy when I do workout. I sleep less but sleep better when I workout, too.
  • BodyPlex $29 per month with 2 yr contract. Childcare is no extra charge there.
  • I had a hairdresser tell me to get a deep conditoner by Matrix OR if I wanted something less expense to use the Aussie 3-min conditioner. I asked for my daughter and she says the Aussie is great -- and it's less than $3 a bottle.
  • I find I slow more when running outside, too, but when I look at the programs on my Iphone I realize that it is probably because I am 1) dealing w/the weather issues outside and 2) becuase I run faster outside than I do on the treadmill. Honestly a 10 min mile on the treadmill makes me feel like I'm dying. A 10 min mile…
  • I love vintage clothing and never find any to fit. When I got on my semi-annual camping trip with my BFF from high school I would like to not look at the pics of us together and think "OMG I am a beached whale!" (She's tiny -- I'd guess a size 3?, blonde, and tan). Because I want to have those 13.1 and 26.2 stickers on my…
  • I do both. When I run in the mornings before work it's at like 430-500 am so I run inside instead of out on the dark unlit streets (maybe if I lived in town I'd run outside but now out here in the country where I couldn't see a snake in the road! lol). Sometimes I run on the treadmill after work. But my weekends are…
  • Oxypro Elite - sold at GNC - works. I used it to get over a 6 month plateau. You can only take it for two months and then you have to take a month off.
  • I have that same issue. I have changed my workouts, varied the amt of calories I consume, been to the dr and had a complete physical (everything, including thyroid, is good). Doctor and I discussed my workouts and food choices and she couldn't find a reason either. Sadly, she just said "keep trying and eventually you will…
  • Cadences -- aka jodies -- that the military uses when they run will help. My hubby is retired military and he suggested it to me. I bought a cd of them and put it on my ipod. I find it does help.
  • I did the C25K -- twice. Once and loved it. Then had to have a D&C so after the recovery I started over w/the C25K. I highly recommend it. I'm what I consider "not athetic" yet I can do it! Go for it!
  • I do my workouts first thing -- becuase when I try to do them after work I find a million excuses not to. I have heard of people that put the alarm across the room so that they can't use the snooze. I don't do that -- but I do sleep in my workout clothes -- except for the socks and shoes, of course. So when I get up I am…
  • Is it battery operated? If so, try replacing the battery.
  • Having the same issue. I've tried everthing -- even went to the dr and had my thyroid checked. Currently at a 4 month plateau. :( Wish I could help. Patty, what is gingeng? Is it a pill form? I know there is ginseng tea but I'm not a tea drinker so that doesn't help me.
  • I usually have my coffee when I get up as usual. Then I eat peanut butter and banana or something w/some protein. Last week when I ran a 5K, I had an egg sandwich for breakfast. I don't eat a lot and I don't eat too close to starting time becuase it makes me sick to my stomach if it's to close to running time. However, in…
  • Never thought I'd be a runner either -- honestly never thought I would be good at anything athletic! -- but wanted to burn more calories and knew running would do it so I tried C25K. As of yesterday I have won 1st place in my age bracket twice, 3rd place once, and didn't place twice. One of my 1st place ones was my first…
  • Go to military.com and you can find workouts there to help you get read for basic training. You can find them by the specific branch.
  • Couch to 5K is great. Use that. Get new shoes. AND when you finish the Couch to 5K, check out military.com. They have different programs. I have been running 5Ks for a couple of years now and just started a 12 Weeks to !2 Miles program that I printed from military.com.
  • Yes, you can order your food to be prepared differently.
  • I have read (not sure if it's true but I have read it in a couple different books) that white starches cause bloating & weight gain in the belly. You might try switching to brown rice, whole wheat pastas and breads and see if that helps.
  • Make sure you are eating enough protein and two healthy oils a day. If y ou are cutting those too drastically, it will cause hairloss.
