You have my same thoughts exactly! Congrats on being 28 weeks! I am only 14weeks2days pregnant and want to up my protein to 80-100 grams a day to avoid preeclampsia. How high of protein are you trying to maintain?
-
Hi there and congrats to all the ladies with their pregnancies. I walk 3.5 miles daily to work Monday-Friday for my current exercise. Swimming and light yoga are also highly recommended as good exercises through-out pregnancy. I am currently 14weeks2days pregnant. When is everyone else due?

Figures how I move from Pennsylvania then see this post, haha! Good find. There is a HUGE vegan movement in the part of Oregon I live in...eeks!!
-
I'm doing very low carb at the moment and aiming for 1400ish calories a day. Congrats on recognizing your issues with carbs and doing something about it!
-
My goal is 1300 cals and I'll be doing my food diary almost everyday starting tomorrow so feel free to add me!
-
2015 will be our year then!
-
It takes guts to admit some defeat and get back on the horse. Feel free to add me as I know what it is like to lose 100+ lbs :-)
-
Wow, that takes work to go over such a high limit. Do try to make a point of keeping your fat at your 85% limit twice a week though.
-
Hey gary and activefatgirl (love your name BTW!). Feel free to add me and enjoy this wonderful website!
-
I'll check out your diary so I can make specific recommendations. Without looking i would suggest trying lower carb, lower sugar, healthy fats like olive/coconut oil, and eating 1200-1400 a day. I personally lost more eating 1300-1400 than I did with 1200.

Yes, we have some Amish who come up to Allentown from Lancaster county with product at the Farmer's market. My mother in law will purchase eggs and meat from a specific farmer so I should inquire about the milk and butter. Thank you for your comment!

Low carb, high fat, moderate protein made me drop some weight quickly and safely. Definitely look into paleo/keto/primal eating!
-
Times I kept to strict Paleo and fell into ketosis, I lost as much as 13 lbs in a week even when I was not obese...talk about fast! Sadly I lost most of my weight doing the vegan/vegetarian thing back in the day which was far too much sugar. Of doing just 2 weeks of Paleo, I have seen a drop in my A1C. Will kepp you posted…
-
Such an awesome story. Do you do low carb? I've been doing low sugar and low carb. If not, how did you get it lowered? The last time I had my A1C checked I was 5.7 so hoping I can get it down like you did!
-
What a wonderful transition. Good luck getting to where you want to be.
-
Sounds delicious. I will definitely check out the website you posted. Thank you!

yep, already bought a nutbag, but in the case of making my own almond milk, I was wondering what almonds people use. I buy raw, unsalted almonds currently from several different grocery stores-usually just the store brand though.
-
Yes, I plan on making my OWN yogurt, OWN almond milk, AND OWN butter, but you need to start out with cultures and other materials in order to get your first patch so I HAVE to buy SOMETHING in order to start them. Sounds like organic valley and kerrygold is what I am hearing so far.
-
No way-I LOVE my pecans/walnuts/almonds! I have fruit 1-2 a week if even that. only dairy item I miss is yogurt so far.
-
Awesome, good for you! I've lost quite a bit of weight cutting out lots of processed foods and am doing Whole30 for February. After Feb, I plan on adding in some grass-fed quality butter to cook with, bulletproof coffee, and possibly some full fat yogurt. I will send you a friend request pronto!
-
Hey CC, I am going to send you a friend request. Just started my Whole30 today.
-
To the individual above my first post: 100 lbs down from 180 lbs?? This does not sound healthy.
-
I wish everyone on here the best of luck. Losing and keeping it mostly off is not easy... the past 10-20 lbs has been a struggle, but if I can manage then plenty of you guys can as well!
-
Why thank you for the compliment. I suppose someone's range is just very specific to the individual. Thank you for your thoughts!
-
I respect your honesty. Time to get started on your weight loss journey then! there is plenty of support on this site for you to come up with a food plan and exercise routine you feel comfortable about and can stick with!
-
Beautiful job. What was your highest BMI? have you had issues with any loose skin?
-
Have you tried lowering your carb amount and increasing your healthy fats such as olive oil/coconut oil?
-
Ohhh good to know. Some of the store brand info on the MFP database is completely off as well. Also, I have some chobani in a larger tub so I weigh mine out and adjust what the container says in relation to the portion I measured out.
-
Hey there. Welcome to the site. I believe this site help me more than any nutritionist, Doctor, and self help group EVER could. At the end of the day, you have to take responsibility for your own exercise and food choices which MFP helps making you see. Good luck and feel free to add me. :-)

Yay! I really admire your photos. People are too quick to post only super flattering photos full of fake poses, but yours were real. I hope you achieve the rest of your weight loss in 2014!
