  • Haha I wore mine yesterday cause I went right after work and left with nasty blisters.
  • Depends what I am doing. I burn up to 800 at kickboxing classes, 4-500 at Zumba. Typically at the gym I do free weight/strength training so I don't count those calories because its probably about 75-100 but then I do 30 mins of interval training(3.5/7 at 3 incline) and burn about 250.
  • That's a good point. I do like arms so maybe that should be closer to end of the week. Maybe on Wednesday so I am not sore for kickboxing and then legs/abs on Thursday because its the easiest for me. Thank you!
  • I'd say its normal to feel sore if you are new to an exercise program. You know your body best but at the same time don't be afraid to push yourself. Be smart about it and maybe take it down a notch to see what type of differences you feel. It's always going to be give and take at the beginning. Also, make sure you are…
  • I pay $27/month for 2 different locations. The place is clean, convenient(500 feet from my apartment) and affordable with a plethora of equipment. I switched from the Y which was $40/month.
  • Not generalizing. If I has said all men, then yes maybe a generalization, however not once has a woman offered me lifting advice. I do like the post that mentioned how would I react if a woman said the same thing. I'd say thank you unless it was a condescending tone. So I guess tone/body language is everything here.
  • Yea you're probably right ndj1979. I'll just put my best resting *kitten* face on, play Taylor Swift in repeat and keep using up the valuable oxygen in the weight area. see ya there :p
  • Cool a variety of responses! It doesn't bother me so much that I would change anything about my routine but I can't tell if they have motives or are just genuinely offering advice. Either way doesn't matter. I can hold my own and maybe will try offering them some advice haha. My thought is that if they are so free to offer…
  • I finished C25k entirely using a treadmill. Should work just fine.
  • I think muffins are the worst offenders. I used to love muffins in the morning but now I would much rather eat those calories later in the day. Plus when I eat something like that I am usually starving 1-2 hours later so it sets my whole day up for failure. I used to eat a bagel toasted with cream cheese every morning but…
  • Thanks everyone! I will log only what I eat...quite possible it won't make any difference but accuracy is key!
  • Yes agreed! I try to be as accurate as possible for my own learning purposes even though it may not always be necessary but, hey, to each their own.
  • When I buy new bras I save the old ones for exercise. I always wear a regular bra with straps that cross in the back and then I wear a cheap sports bra from TJ Maxx over it. Works well for me. I'm a 34DDD.
  • I don't see anything wrong with that....'d highly recommend you get a good scale and weigh instead of guessing or using measuring cups for solids.! Stick with it as others have said 3 weeks is too short a time to really see steady progress and results. Good luck!
  • You look amazing and I loved reading your story!! Very motivational and I completely agree with you!! Great job woman!!!!
  • Hmm I'n not sure but it has to be the food. I would spend the next 2-3 weeks extremely focused on your food intake and see if there are any errors that come up. You do not NEED to exercise to lose weight. Are you over estimating your burns? Do you use a HRM? Maybe your BMR and TDEE are not calculated correctly? I'm 5'8,…
  • 5'7 Starting(on MFP): Weight 186 Chest:40.5 Waist 31.5 Hips: 43 Current: Weight: 176 Chest: 39 (34DDD takes up a lot of that space though haha) Waist: 29 Hips: 40 I pull taut but not so much that it indents my skin at all and I can still twist it around easily.
  • I didn't do any calculations based on your numbers but seems very reasonable to me and I do think you can do it in one year. Thats roughly 1.5lbs/week. You may lose less some weeks but you may lose more some weeks. If your dedicated and want to make it happen I'm sure you can do it!! Sounds like you are well on your way…
  • I agree with above poster. I was only successful on WW if I ate low-no carb which is not sustainable for me. I definitely lost weight but not consistently and while WW has improved in the past few years I feel it is still missing a lot. I have been way more successful on MFP. And, of course, the added bonus is that MFP is…
  • hahahahah the 2 answers above are absolutely perfect
  • Lots of great info here so I am posting so I can find it again! I am still far from maintenance but I am getting married in September and was told my dress(which I purchased 6 months and 20lbs ago) can only be altered so much so starting in June when I have my first true fitting I will have to maintain until after the…
  • It doesn't look like you track protein so hard to say without seeing the numbers but it seems like you should get more protein. That gives me the shakes and weak feeling when I don't get enough. Does it happen randomly or during a specific time of day? I get that feeling if I don't eat before I workout. I usually have a…
  • Yes 100% agree with poster above. You have to weigh your food. Of course its possible to lose weight without weighing but much easier when you do. You do not have to exercise to lose weight, but it is obviously beneficial to you. I started weighing my food and now I think I might be losing a bit too fast so I think I am…
  • Feel free to add me as well. I am still a ways from my goal but have finally seemed to work out the correct formula this time around. I have done this before as well and switched back and forth between MFP and WW. A few things that I have done differently this time around... 1. Log everything, everyday. If I am not sure…
  • Weigh your food!!!! Everything changed for me when I started weighing. I have been losing successfully and steadily since then. If you are really in it to win it the cost for a food scale(which isn't much anyway) is totally worth it!
  • I do burpees, jumping jacks, power jacks, squats, lunges, ab work(v-sits, cruncy frogs, waverunners, sit ups with medicine ball etc), planks, iron cross, high jumps, push ups, reverse push ups, mountain climbers, air punches, calf raises etc. If I work out for 30 mins I usually do 30-60 second intervals of each thing. For…
  • oh my gosh pretty much everything here. I definitely had a skewed vision of portion sizes-especially with pasta and ice cream. Now I am weighing everything and I still am shocked by how small my new servings are. BUT the best part is I am not hungry eating those servings. : ) The things I stay away from now are enormous…
  • I weigh myself like 3-4 times a day haha. Not obsessive about it more just curious about daily fluctuations. I know its not a measure of fat loss but just normal daily changes. Like everyone else I retain water when I eat a lot of sodium dense foods and also when i drink alcohol. Last night we went to a mexican restaurant…
