Great work.

I can do 11 neutral grip pull-ups in good form. The first time I started it took about 3 months to get there. The second time (after a lay-off) it took about 2 months... I would do reps throughout the day.

The guys don't talk to the other guys in this section either - so I don't think this is an issue of gender. I notice that the women tend to have better form lifting in the "big boys" side of the gym anyway. I see men "squat" and they usually are doing a quarter of half squat - the women tend to perform an actual squat.

Nice work, congratulations.

OK, I'm curious - I mean in.

You can also try resistance bands they are not so expensive and you can strength train at home. There are tips and technique you can find on the internet if you choose to go this route.

I second the above - swimming is great - but there is a tendency to eat more than the calories burned after swimming compared to other cardiovascular exercise. So, keep your calories in check with your goals and you should be fine. Oh, and as someone else said it is somewhat easy to dawdle in the pool so make sure you are…

I see weird stuff in the gym almost every day - maybe not this weird. The thing that I find interesting is that most of the time it seems like the trainers are introducing this weird stuff. Today I saw someone lying down, face up, with both feet in a sling about four inches off the ground and the person was doing some kind…

Yeah, love handles - everything else seems to be in check (luckily).

I want to look good naked - and be fit. I find it helpful to have some goals - triathlons, running, cycling, strength, etc. to keep me motivated.
-
Dark brown, IMHO, is best.

I don't wear a shirt in the water but I would recommend something like the above vs. a standard cotton t-shirt. You may also try something like a triathlon suit. One of the advantages of swimming, as I understand it, is that your body isn't so visible when it is in the water anyway. But, yeah, I get that others might want…

I'm in agreement with the above - you may feel like you have some extra weight but you likely do not. I think you might want to focus on strength training - toning - and you will achieve a body with which you are satisfied. Best of luck.

This^^ I don't know if you are doing yoga to burn a lot of calories or for strength training - yoga might be better for strength and flexibility (I really am not entirely sure). But if you want to lose weight go into caloric deficit (within reason...).

I guess I do not experience runners high as early as most people - I usually feel something like runners high when I am in "good" condition after about mile 12.

Wow - I mean WOW! Congratulations on the hard work and the progress. The pictures and your story are inspirational. So, what does your family think of your incredible journey?
-
Great job, congratulations, your hard work paid off.
-
Wow great story, thanks for posting it (yes I read it). Congratulations on your success.
-
Congratulations - yes I can definitely see your positive progress.

I did - further down they aren't even close to scientific - they are completely anecdotal. Those numbers may be like this thread - but I am looking for something that at least has the semblance of validity. The numbers for "bodybuilding" are something like "do it because I said so." It isn't even an appeal to authority -…

Even on this site they suggest this: STRENGTH training -> 1.4 to 2g per KG bodyweight (about .6 / pound) Again, per KG - divide bodyweight in pounds by 2.2... It seems like this thread suggests much MUCH MUCH more protein than this article... I think the better measure may be to use lean body mass - I don't know how much…
-
I would love to see the peer-reviewed scientific articles that suggest protein requirements at the levels suggested in this thread. Any references?

My running shorts have a built in liner so when I lift I usually where nothing other than the shorts. When I run I sometimes wear a compression short (especially for longer mileage) or a jockstrap to eliminate the bounce...

Golly, I would consider "kim kardashian, beyonce, or nicki minaj" and Hendricks to be full-figured women (as well as Elizabeth Taylor). I suppose I do have a different definition of full-figured than, at least, some. The actress from Bridesmaids - I don't consider her full-figured... Someone asked if a size 4 hour-glass…

Of this, I am aware... Yes, I understand the effects caloric deficit, maintenance and surplus on weight... I am suggesting that my increased caloric intake is not enough to gain weight.
-
I would focus on the cardiovascular activities at this point (not to say strength training would not have its place but if you are obese it would probably be better to tackle that problem first...). As others have said, walking and running are good, swimming as well, you may also like biking. Be aware that often with…
