  • your story is so inspiring thank you for sharing it. I plan on taking 1 yr to do my wt loss thing. I am 10 lbs into a 50-60 lb total loss journey. 4 mo so far. Not a speedy wabbit but I have my difficulties. At least I know this 10 lb is staying off. Happy New Year:bigsmile:
  • yes yes! that is a big one, crackin my knuckles, done it since a teenager, it's my fidget thing. I think it's natural for us overeaters in the group to seek something oral or fidgetty as a substitute for whatever we're feeling, craving, etc.
  • your title tells me Ive got something in common with you. I have hated it all my life. Since I've been on mfp I have seen, heard, read and done. After 4 mo. I have something that works for me: First, don't look at it as forcing yourself. Just do it. Give yourself a couple weeks to start this habit. I guarantee no matter…
  • hi, these 2 have helped me a lot: skinnytaste.com and allrecipes.com, oh, yes and diabetic connect is great. happy clean eatin to ya. :drinker:
  • jewelry works I think notice what kind she wears or if none at all, a datebook for next yr would be nice :flowerforyou:
  • Hi, I just saw this. I'll be your friend. I too have hypothyroid condition. I take synthroid replacement medication. My wt loss has been quite slow but it is happening. I am about 110 days into mfp. I've lost 8 lbs, on the verge of 9. I would say from my exper. with the thyroid condition I just have to exercise harder and…
  • ok, I feel very blessed for this: I met my husband when I was 16. We went on our first date up to the mountains, talked and talked and walked, and I just loved everything about him. I guess when I really knew was when he said God had told him something and he wanted me to pray about it. I knew it was that we were going to…
  • absolutely not! I hope you haven't! I'm 55 and I know t's harder but I am post-menopausal and hypothyroid. I admit it is harder and I have to eat way less and exercise more than I ever thought but I'm losing....slowly. ya just gotta step it up on the exercise, at least that's what's working for me. I lost only 8 lbs in 90…
  • you can do it. just remember every day is a fresh new start and forget about the past you can do nothing but move forward. baby steps will get you there and before you know it you're a toddler and etc. lol

  • I sympathize. It is a battle, but it IS a battle that can be won. support I think is key. This site has been instrumental to my latest efforts and I am committed to making exercise and good nutrition my lifestyle. key word: LIFE. It will be a lifelong way of going about our daily routines. It must be a priority. If you're…
  • good for you, it's worth the brag when you accomplish the "impossible". go go go keep it up!
  • yanno, what I like to do? go in the bathroom and do a "primal scream". you scream as hard as you can only silently. it usually works for me. OR do some slow breathing, go on a break and walk it off
  • this is huge. the frther you get along the journey the more major the changes will be, I think. I'm just starting out. only 2 mo. in but I have had one little NSV: my wedding ring has gotten so loose I had to add an old band just to keep it from falling off. LOL thanks for sharing this.
  • I think you should call the police and file a missing person's report. It certainly is warranted. I will pray you hear from him soon.
  • I got a HRM at Big 5 on clearance and I have mixed feelings. today I tried to use it same way I did before and it didn't work. I don't recommend mine: Bowflex Heart Rate Monitor. I would say from my exper. with this one. try to find one that doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles. mine is too complicated.
  • this is a good link. ck'd it out. i'm a nurse and I heartily approve.
  • I agree with the others. camera adds 5 or 10 lbs I've heard. IT DOESN"T MATTER. You are what matters. Give yourself the kudos, the atta girls, the I'm doing it's. Look at how far you've come, not how far you have to go or what a stupid picture looks like. God made you and He doesn't make any junk!
  • to dumbblond, I know what you mean, but just do it! it will get easier. I have only lost 5 lbs but I feel soooooooooooo much better. more energy, cheerful even. (that's not my usual personality previously I'd say I was an eeyore melancholy). you can friend me if you need encouragement.
  • oh, yeah. you're definitely not the only one. I used to feel that way and had to force myself to do it, but something's changed in me in 2 mo. I feel bad (I mean sluggish and depressed) if I DON'T workout. It just takes time. Are you committed or.....?
  • Hi, I'm here. add me.
  • one word: inspiration. thank you so much reading your story gives me hope. I'm slowly workin' my way up in my exercises from 20 min. walk only at the beg. to now 30-40 min. hills walking,, a low impact workout, strength training and just started Curves which does Zumba twice a week. you are workin' it girl.
  • Being a nurse, I think yes. you can take an anti-inflammatory if that helps you usually for pain and I'd say give a couple days, then try again. If you hurt when you lift, don't do it while in pain. my 2 cents.
  • wow. I am amazed at your story. You have come SO FAR!!! you're my hero. I just started my journey (I think for real this time) 2 mo ago and lost 5 lbs so far. I think you should write a book, seriously that's some story to tell. are you quitting mfp though? cuz I'd like to "friend" you if I could and if not I will be sad…
  • awesome dude I have 50 lbs to lose and have both those conditions it's been 45 days only 4 lbs but 1 1/2" off my waist and blood sugar has been down lower than I ever had it since diagnosis. actually having hypoglycemic episodes occastionally. I hope I can whip it eventually too. you are a true inspiration
  • Hi honey. well, I gained 20 lbs but I was about 20 lbs overweight already. I've been told 30-35 lbs is healthy. You make up your own mind when the time comes. No worries.Be happy.
  • hi honey. I'm 55 but I sure don't feel like I've been on this earth that long! zest for life is great! what are you doing for food and exercise? I just got a Tony & the Folks video. It's for over 50 yr olds and did it today. pretty good low impact workout. I just added this to my walking routine. I have 50 lbs to lose…
