  • I've thought about doing it to help with my sugar addiction, not for weight loss. I am very close to my goal weight, which I have achieved through calorie counting and exercise. However, I still consume way too much sugar and it is extremely difficult for me to just "cut back". I've read the book and I think completing a…
  • I've never dealt with high blood pressure but my husband has been able to come off all his medications since losing weight. He had previously been on blood pressure meds for years (just like his entire family), and after the first 40ish lbs they cut his dosage in half. At his last appointment (after he had reached his goal…
  • We got back the family photos we had taken and I actually really like the way I look in them! Also, when my mom was showing them to her coworkers one of the guys said something to her about my "buff arms" haha. Today I had my son at the pool and one of the (young, attractive, female) lifeguards told me my leg muscles were…
  • I'll be the first to admit that I have a horrible sweet tooth! I have definitely thought about cutting back on my sugar and carbs to see if that helps me shed this last few pounds. cwolfman13- this is precisely why I'm wondering if I need to readjust my goal weight. I feel like I have a lot more muscle on me than I did the…
  • Since losing weight (I was at a point where 18's at "regular" stores were way too tight, now I'm an 8 or 10) I've loved shopping at LOFT. They may run slightly bigger, most of the clothes are fairly modest yet fashionable, and the fabrics are a nice quality.
  • I'm closer to 5'10" and my goal is 153, simply because that would put me at 100 lbs. lost. I've been fluctuating between 165-169 for quite a few weeks and can't seem to find the same motivation to push myself further because I'm actually fairly happy with the way I look (at least with clothes on-ha!).
  • I also understand the tall girl struggle. I'm 5'10" and have gone from 253 lbs. to 169 lbs. (a tight size 18 to a size 8 or 10 depending on the brand). I had lost a good 40 lbs. before anyone even really noticed.
  • Whenever I change my workout plan (in intensity, duration, or frequency) I hit a plateau for about two weeks. Your muscles retain water as a way to repair themselves, but it will release as your body becomes accustomed to the new exercise.
  • I've currently lost 32.4%... Wow. Crazy to think a third of my body is gone :#
  • Yep, I have one or two days a month that I go over because of a celebration/ holiday/ date night, but other than that I've stuck to my recommended calories for over 300 consecutive days and lost nearly 80 lbs. because of that. My starting weight was right about where yours was (I started at 253) and it did feel "easy" at…
  • I was just talking about something similar in another thread, but if you feel like you need to eat more, yet still want to lose weight, couldn't you increase your calories while still eating in a deficit? What are you set to lose now/ how many calories are you eating? Just today I switched my weekly from 1.5 lbs/ wk to 1…
  • Yep, I've gotten that response. I recently saw a bunch of my extended family, who I hadn't seen since before I started losing weight and I heard a lot of "you're at your goal, right? Don't lose any more!". I just give vague answers because the truth is no, I'm not at my goal. I'm not even considered a "healthy/ normal"…
  • Thank you- that's the chart I was looking for! Definitely not pregnant :) I'm thinking I'll up my intake and change my goal to 1 lb/ wk and see if that helps before consulting my doctor. I kind of knew that was the answer, but I just had the idea stuck in my head that I wanted to get to a "normal" weight before I did that.…
  • I'd love to hear more about the approach you took to reverse dieting to get to this point. I'm nearing maintenance, and once I've been able to maintain for a bit reverse dieting is definitely a goal for me. You said you've been doing it for five months- how many calories have you added back in from your original…
  • Mine says 165 (even though I weighed 253 last year when I renewed it- can't believe the employee didn't call me out on that). I'm currently at 175 so I'm getting close! Now if I could just get the picture changed :s
  • I don't know anything about the new program (I have previously lost- and regained- weight on other WW programs) but I have to take the opportunity to say this is why WW makes me angry. They have to constantly change their program in order to keep people paying, when losing weight is actually quite simple (not easy, just…
  • I'm projected to hit 80 lbs lost in about two weeks, which will make it almost exactly 10 months.
  • We mainly stick to veggie sides (rarely starches). Some of our favorites: Sautéed kale and shallots Roasted carrots Balsamic Brussel sprouts Whipped cauliflower Steamed broccoli with parmesan Steamed green beans with sautéed mushrooms
  • I've lost nearly 75, and I would say the second half has been more noticeable. The first 30-40, it seemed people barely noticed (comments were of the "have you lost weight?" variety). The past 30-40 is when other people have really started to comment and ask what I've been doing. I also feel so much better physically…
  • I hate it when people ask me how many pounds I've lost. I don't mind "have you lost weight?" But so many times its followed up with "how much have you lost?" I figure most of the time people are trying to do the math to figure out how much I weigh/ used to weigh. Also, "are you at your goal yet?" I don't know why this one…
  • This was hilarious, and I think anyone who has done C25K knows exactly how you feel! Keep it up, you're doing great! I had never run a more than a mile in my life before I started C25K, and now I'm consistently running 5k three times/ week and training for a 10k. It's amazing what we're capable of when we put our minds to…
  • Wow! This is extremely inspiring and encouraging. I find myself getting so bored in the weight room, but I feel like I "have" to do it if I want to achieve my end goal (aesthetically). I'll definitely be checking out some of the resources you've suggested.
  • I agree with everyone else who said just try to slow down and keep your breathing steady. I think the first time I ever did c25k was nearly two years ago and I wasn't able to make it through the first day. This time I really pushed myself to create a good "base" first- walking 4 to 5x/ week at a very fast pace; until I…
  • I'm right there with you- completed W5D1 this morning! I'm looking forward to W5D2, and more than a little nervous about W5D3!
  • Yep, my husband and I have two kids and we've gotten into a groove with our workouts. My husband is a morning person but doesn't like the gym, so he goes into our basement and uses the treadmill and weights. I either run outside while he's showering/ getting ready for work, or I take the kids to the gym with me (free child…
  • This morning I attempted W3D1, and mostly completed it. I did have to take a 20ish second walk break during the last 3 minute interval because I just could not catch my breath no matter how much I slowed down. When that happens to you early in a week, do you repeat that day until you are able to complete it as prescribed,…
  • Either: one whole egg scrambled with 1/4 c. egg whites and one slice ultra thin cheese on top plus a low fat nutrigrain waffle with a T. Almond butter and fresh fruit on top (strawberries, blueberries, bananas) OR I make a "pancake" with 1/2 a mashed banana, 1/4 c. Egg whites, and 1/4 c. Oatmeal (and a dash of cinnamon)…
  • Are you weighing all of your food to make sure you log accurately? Even "healthy" food can be high in calories if the portion is too high. I even weigh fruits and veggies to make sure I'm putting in the correct portions. Fruits especially can be over a hundred calories if not measured. Also, have you started a new workout…
  • Well, I was supposed to do W1D3 this morning, but when I got home my app showed that I had actually done W2D1 instead! Oops! How would you proceed if you were me? I was able to complete it without too much difficulty.
