  • Yay! Way to go!
  • Exactly! Feel free to friend me if you want some motivation. I think I saw one of your other posts and was worried for you from a dress perspective - you don't want to miss out on a beautiful dress because it will take too long! Do you have plans made to start shopping soon? Don't worry about what size you'll be - it was…
  • It can totally work, and I'm proof. My relationship STARTED as long-distance and now we're engaged and living together, almost 5 years later. We were long-distance for almost three years. We alternated visits as it made sense and never went more than 8wks without seeing each other (and only went that long once, because it…
  • Give it time, and make sure you're tracking allll your food. I was exercising regularly but didn't start losing weight until I started to track every bite, including the 7 cookies I ate as lunch on Monday. Sometimes it's not pretty but it helps!
  • Nice work Bunni!
  • I HATE chair dips! Have you tried tricep pushups? My trainer has said they're 25% more effective at toning that muscle than any other tricep exercise. Google for form but it is slightly different from regular pushups. Rows are good for the back, whether standing bent over or kneeling on something. Deadlifts are good for…
  • Well, that picture was posted here as a reminder to me to get my batwings under control...as I held a bat, lol. I was on vacation in Bali, body issues did not get brought with!
  • I may not have been clear - my dress was ordered in a size that is too big now and will be more than too big when it comes in! I'm not worried about fitting into it, I'm worried about getting it in time to get the necessary alterations needed. No jacket will be worn, so hopefully I'll be warm enough. Guess I just need to…
  • My trainer has pushed me in a good way. I've been working with her for about 6 months now. I can do 20+ push-ups (on my knees) in a row, at least 10 in a row on my toes. I've lost inches and holy hell do I feel better about myself! She pushes me to lift, lunge, squat, row, etc more than I think I can. It's SUCH a good…
  • I have loved Morningstar's spicy black bean burgers. They have real corn and beans in them. However, I recently tried Gardenburger's chipotle black bean burgers and loved them more! Real rice, corn, and beans, and only 100 calories each. I tried Morningstar's veggie (not black bean) burger and it smelled like cat vomit.…
  • Their nutrition info isn't posted on the site, but you can email them and get it emailed back relatively quickly. I went last week and was prepared for dinner - was going to have naked tenders and a house salad, but my plans changed and I didn't end up eating there.
  • One day at a time! And sometimes I don't think more than one meal ahead at a time. You can do it!
  • I had always heard it takes about 10lbs lost to drop a size. For me, though, it's been about 15lbs. As others said, it depends on the muscle/fat ratio.
  • I've been a home-based worker for almost 2 years. I am unable to work out much during the day because I am tied to the computer - conference calls, emails, IMs, almost non-stop from 8:30ish til 5ish. Even getting up and walking around while I'm on a call is sometimes difficult. I do my working out once I'm off the clock…
  • You were beautiful to start, and still are! Congrats on your successes.
  • I wear my engagement ring all the time - EXCEPT for my 2x weekly sessions with my personal trainer. She's nuts, I never know what she's going to have me do, and since my solitare sits up high a bit, I'm not willing to take the chance of anything happening to it. If I'm working out on my own, or doing, say, a spinning…
  • Hi @Mz, I just wanted to see how it's going for you? I am starting to feel pressure from myself on getting to a certain level of shape/tone/fit by my wedding (October this year). I'm working hard but I'm not perfect! Hope you're off to a good start - feel free to add me as a friend if you want some encouragement!
  • @Amazed, depending on the designer it may be too late. I've read that it can take up to 9-12 months to get a dress. I bought mine 9 months out and was worried that was cutting it close. Of course, that's assuming you're not buying something off the rack but are ordering.
  • I'm in a similar boat. We just need to put the past behind us and look forward to the future and the better decisions that we'll make! Don't let this setback take you completely off the track. I am actually looking forward to the healthy soup and sandwich I have planned for lunch - after a weekend with few veggies I'm…
  • Love this. I have a lot of uncertainty about what my body can do and a touch of body dysmorphia - my trainer told me that if I tell her I "can't" do something, I have to give her 10 burpees. That's been motivation to keep my mouth shut!
  • Here's how I think of it: My trainer pushes me to do more than I thought I could, more than I knew I would on my own. That's why I pay her! And while sometimes I'm barely walking afterwards, and while sometimes I hate her for what she makes me do, there are times when I feel empowered and awesome and STRONG for what I…
  • You guys are great. And I love the quote "comparison is the thief of joy" - so true in my case here!
  • Yep. That's what I do.
  • I've actually been happy to order a small steak at steakhouses before. It's a much healthier option than something smothered in sauce. Get a salad to go with, avoid the bread, see if you can get a steamed veggie side and you'll (hopefully!) be full and happy!
  • I totally feel crappy after a hard workout but it's a good crappy, if that makes sense. It's like, "wow, I really pushed myself...sure I'm tired as hell but that's because I'm working towards a goal...sweat is just fat crying and I made the whole playground cry today!" I'm not a competive person but I try to best my own…
  • Stirfry of ground turkey and all sorts of veggies, and a salad. I've been looking forward to it for days!
  • I weigh myself daily as well but only record my weight on Monday's weigh-in. I find daily is a good barometer for me, and when I'm down (even a tiny bit) it's encouraging. This doesn't mean on days I'm down I eat more, I stick within my calories as much on "low" days as I do on "high" days. It's just a mental victory or…
  • A few ounces non-fat Greek yogurt, maybe with some blueberries or a little honey. And a banana. Maybe string cheese too or almonds if I need something else.
