I'm eating 1,500-1,700 and it's working really well for me! It totally depends on how active you are. I'm using a BodyMedia armband and I just make sure that I have a deficit of 1,000. I think it really depends on your goal. Mine is to be 20% bf. Right now I'm 165, 31%. That means I'm carrying 51 lbs of fat an 114 lean mass. I also think it depends on your body. I couldn't lose weight staying within my calorie range and exercising so I started eating clean and am now losing steadily. Plus, my nails are strong for the first time ever! My hair seems to be growing faster, my skin's clearing up and I fee, better in general! :)

If you know you'll eat better on days you work out, then you should try doing something like the 30 Day Shred. It's 30 min daily. Get a calendar and mark the days you ate well ad exercised. It'll feel so good to see your progress you won't want to quit.

Are you monitoring your heart rate? I did the program mostly on a treadmill and when I began, I tried the jogs at 5 mph but my heart rate was way past my zone so I was getting exhausted too easily. I switched to 4.1 - 4.5, stayed at 85% of my max hr and I was abler to complete the sessions. Good luck!!
