new to MFP

Hi, my name is Kathy and i'm new to MFP. I"ve been on here for about 2 weeks now and I'm excited about losing weight and getting healthy again. I need to lose about 50 more pounds. I know it's gonna be a long journey but i'm ready for it. I have 3 kids ranging from 5 yrs to 19 yrs old. I was small after my divorce from my first husband and then remarried and had my other 2 children and kept the weight on. I really need to get back in shape for them and for health reasons. Diabetes run strong in my family and i am border line. My doctor told me to do a low carb diet, so i'm looking for meals and recipes that are low carb. Anyone have any suggestions. I really could use more friends on here and support. Thanks for listening and reading.
