  • I don't even need to look back to the unadulterated past...This fall I stopped counting. I told myself that I had enough "counting" skills, knew what healthy food was and still maintained my high level of exercise. Well I've put on nearly 20 lbs since my summer low of 68 lbs lost. I probably ate at least 300 calories a day…
  • Someone told me or read weight loss is 80% kitchen and 20% gym. I truly believe that this go at weight loss has been so much more successful for me because I have practice this ratio. Think of the weight loss coming from the food and small extras being earned at the gym (along with muscles,etc.). Why not start with…
  • I have found the MFP cycling entry to grossly overestimates calorie burn. On Sunday, I did a 2 hr 33 min ride. My HRM said 1289 calories (average HR 73%) and MFP 1565. MFP, machines and other estimates seem to assume a high heart rate for the duration, which is rarely the case. I find all exercise estimates are high…
  • Flake bars are only made in Ireland....in Canada you don't have to go to a British import store to find them...
  • you might also look if their are any private pools in your area. i've seen a couple in Canada and the US. less than a gym if you are only going to use the pool.
  • Does your work offer a corporate deal? Mine works out to half the month fee plus towel service. Best part is that I you don't end up on their list so no further sales. Wasn't sure the the UofT deal was good. Goodlife really varies by location, but they certainly dominate the Canadian market. there is very little choice…
  • a specialty bra store is a good place to start. they should have a number bras and will fit you if you don't have access to bra store...try Shock Absorber. I wear the SHOCK ABSORBER ACTIVE D+ CLASSIC SUPPORT and love it. I've had it in a 38 g, 36 g and now 34 f. i got fitted at a specialty store, but no get it at The Bay.…
  • congratulations!!! even bigger accomplishment because it was done in the pool. distance is always easier in calm open water.
  • I'm 5'7" and have been stuck between 172 and 168 for last while. I am an apple with the worst of my weight in my tummy. I also wear a size 12 pant.
  • I have had good luck at Winners and Marshalls. A lot of New Balance stuff seems to clear through them. You got to check with them often. I now need new capris in large because the XLs are too big and fall down, but since the start of the summer I haven't seen any decent capris. Since I like how New Balance stuff fits me I…
  • Asian Style Slaw with Edamame Dressing ¼ cup fresh lime juice, 2-3 juice of limes 2 T tamari or soy sauce 1 clove garlic, crushed (I use 1 T of jarred crushed garlic which is milder but more convenient) 1 T sambal olek (crushed red chilli paste, found in the ethnic aisle) Mix dressing. Add ¼ cup chopped peanuts to dressing…
  • buy fewer good quality bras and handwash after each wear. i lose inches from my back quickly and have gone from 42/40 to a 34/36. The worst was last December when all my bra bands were loose so I bought new bras and then in January I lost a significant amount in the cup and the new bras were too big. grrr.
  • Booster Juice - I modify a few of the smoothies Freshii - salads Chipolte Mexican Grill
  • Congratulations! I recently discovered mine and am fascinated by them. I look skinny from the armpits up. Below the armpits, I'm a jiggly mess.
  • earbuds with wings. they stay in. clip helps too.
  • I also did Spinning at my heaviest. I try to encourage larger women (or men) to stick with it. As you said, you can't left behind. As long as your heart rate is elevated, who the f! cares if you're doing jumps or whatever. Go for it, sweat and burn calories. The second class is the worse on your bottom and then it gets…
  • a bra that works for you is more important. wear the strap under your bra band.
  • I like Shock Absorber for my F-G cup boobs. If you are still bigger (in the back_ elomi has an underwire medium support that is very much "up and at 'um", but I don't think you could run in it. For running and the gym, I value support and security more than shape, but for hiking or walk being able to have a more flattering…
  • I agree with the previous poster. Be active, don't go crazy with the food or alcohol and enjoy your vacation.
  • Legs - variations on squats, lunges, step ups glutes Big back muscles (Lats, Rows, overhead pulls) Biceps and triceps Shoulders and postural muscles Core (abs, some more glutes, more postural muscles) my program is focus on rehabbing weak glutes and postural muscules. physios and trainers have helped. I know have enough…
  • ohsheglows.com has some great oatmeal variations. My favourite is Carrot Cake Style.
  • I was in Stockholm and Copenhagen last fall and tried to keep vegan. Eating out I focused on ethic food and did okay. Traditional Nordic food isn't even that vegetarian friendly. I definitely reverted back to my vegetarian ways with the dairy though for food we made. European cheese and yogurt is so much better I couldn't…
  • My advice was going to be fit the band tighter than most calculators out there -- they add five inches or something--it is especially important if you have larger breasts. I get fitted at a store that fits on the tight size and am currently a 36 F to 34 G depending on the brand. That calculator says I should start with…
  • I had some expensive European bras that I shrank out off quickly. I took a friend to get properly fitted at a bra store. Turn out she was the size that I had barely worn before shrinking out of them. I offered them to her saying that I'd totally understand if that was too weird, gross, whatever. If she was willing I'd…
  • i'm the only client....hahaha enough clear floor space for squats, lungs, core, etc. Gyms always want to fill every last square inch of floor space.
  • Bodies seem to adjust with a little time. Of course there are combinations that are "deadly" that vary from person to person. I cannot have tofu and grapes on the same night.
  • Saturday mornings after going to the toilet, before exercise or food.
  • Bottoms 236 lbs - size 18 plus 173 lbs - 14 regular starting to get into a few 12s when I was heavier tops were easier to buy but now it is bottoms. tops 236 lbs - 18, 2X 173 - ?, XL some larges are starting to fit, but some XLs are still shockingly tight.
  • Well not for today but for this week... I had to go to a funeral on Monday and realized that I didn't have any appropriate bottoms to wear. I went shopping, which was damn near overwhelming (what size, what style/cut -- three of everything in the change room). Anyway I was about to give up when I went to check out a store…
