This IS helpful, I'm scheduled fot my first half marathon this April. I've been following Hal Higdon's 10k training to build distance and my first 10k is this saturday. I've also registered for a 15k two weeks before my half. My longest run so far has been 7 miles.

I'm taking Visalus shakes too. I'm down to about one shake a day and 2 pouches last me almost 1.5 months. I also take Premier Chocolate shakes from costco. Word. Additionally, muscle burns more calories than fat, so the more muscle you have the more calories you will burn. lifting is important.
