  • I am on a wheat free diet as well due to gluten intolerance. What are you having trouble with? Yes, gluten free substitutes are expensive, so I avoid them. I just don't eat bread or bread products. I primarily eat egg whites, RF cheese, lean meats & fish, fruits, vegetables, beans, corn, brown rice and potatoes. There's…
  • Have you considered talking to a psychotherapist who specializes in eating disorders? Eating disorders come in all shapes and sizes, and can be as seemingly simple as an obsession with what you eat. Talking to someone may just help you to understand why you're so hung up on your calories.
  • You WILL do this! I remember when I had 70 lbs to lose. It seemed so unreachable. Now I'm half way there. Good luck!
  • You can't control how your body loses weight. Breasts are made primarily of fat tissue. You may lose fat in your breasts, or you may not. To make them "perkier" you need to build up the muscles that lie underneath/behind the breasts. These are the pectoral muscles. There are lots of exercises online for pecs. Toning the…

  • I just got it for Wii and I love it. Even at the beginner level it's a really good workout. It breaks down the steps so you can learn them, and you earn points by doing the moves right. When I get lost or out of synch I just jump around a lot until I find my place.
  • I eat an egg white & vegetable omelette. Sometimes I add a bit of RF cheese. Very low cal/low fat and filling. You really need to have protein for breakfast.
  • Try finding something else to do after dinner so you're not sitting around thinking about wanting more. Why not make it a habit to take a walk every night right after dinner? Or do some other sort of gentle exercise. Even something like brush your teeth or chew gum after eating. Just something to make your brain shift…
  • Welcome! I've been on about a month too, and so far I'm really loving this. Good luck!
  • Looking at your food diary, I think you really need to get some variety in what you're eating. Looks to me like you're eating a lot of pre-packaged, processed foods. Also, are you sure you're tracking everything? I noticed one day the only food you had entered for dinner was wine. Not good. Your journal looks sparse. You…

  • I'm joining, albeit a little late. Can I manage to burn 3500 cals in 4 days? Doubtful, but we shall see. I need to do SOMETHING! WEEK 1 1/31 MON - Calories Burned: 0 Fiber: ? • Wow NightOwl, that's scary. Never knew that. Plus of course, after a couple of drinks, I'm a lot less likely to make sensible choices as far as food is concerned. Good job to the OP on his self control at party #1. Let us know how you did the rest of the weekend.
  • Someone told me once about how unclean restaurant kitchens are; and whenever you really want to eat take-out or fastfood to just think about the sweaty, dirty guy behind the grill, dripping sweat off his forehead into all the food, and his dirty nasty unwashed hairy hands touching everything. Really makes it sound less…
  • Do you have a crockpot? It's just about the most wonderful thing in the world. Throw all the ingredients in in the morning, and when you come home from work, dinner is ready. I have a document of hundreds of healthy crockpot recipes. Is there a way to share stuff like that on this site?

  • The way it's always been explained to me, it's really not possible to "spot lose" weight. If the problem is an excess of fat in that area, which for many women it is, then losing weight is the only solution. And you can't determine where or when the weight will come off. Every body is different. I have seen otherwise…

  • What are they getting that smells so good to you? I'm sorry, I don't know what prawn crackers are. lol! You can make yourself a homemade pizza with lots of fresh veggies on a whole wheat pita or on a portobello mushroom. Or make homemade chicken fingers by tossing boneless skinless chicken strips in crushed corn flakes and…
  • Oh yeah, and I stayed under my sugar goal today. First time!
  • Welcome! Congrats on being a new mamma! I'm new here too. I'll send a request.
  • Good for you! See, it's never too late to "save the day." I love working out at night. I find I have a lot more energy. Let's see, what did I do differently today? I ate lunch, which is unusual for me on weekends. Usually on weekends time gets away from me and I forget to eat. Then by mid-afternoon I'm so hungry I go nuts…
  • I'm also a big fan of WATP. Leslie Sansone is a bit annoying, but I like the PP's idea of listening to music. WATP has many different levels and lengths of workouts. So you can fit short ones into your schedule or do longer ones when you have time. And they're easy to follow for those of us who are - um - less coordinated.…
  • Welcome! Right there in your first post I heard some great things that should help to keep you motivated. You just need to keep them in mind when you're feeling weak and when you feel like you want to give up. Make a list of your reasons for doing this. They may seem obvious now, but motivation starts to wane, and there…

  • Since I started out running on a treadmill, I started running based on time. I started very slowly. I found a program online where you start out running like 1 minute at a time and walking three minutes in between. It was good in the beginning, but I found toward the end it became unrealistic. Like it went from running 5…
  • Hi Katie! And I completely understand about the sugar in the turnips being better than, say, they sugar in a soda. Just like the oil in regular peanut butter is better for you than the fake carp they put in RF PB. But I was eating these "Free" veggies like they were just that - free. And when you're consuming 40-50 grams…

  • Sorry to say my friend, that alcohol has a lot of calories, there's no way around it. A single serving (shot, beer, glass, etc) has around 100 calories (give or take 20 depending on the type). So you're not going to have more than 3-4 and stay within your 300 cal limit. And that's not counting anything you mix with it.…
