I started running a few years ago and have finished a bunch on 5K's, a few 8K's, One 15K and three 1/2 Marathons. Two of the 1/2's I run walked with a friend and one we ran straight through...actually had better times on the two that we we run/walked...fastest was 2:40. Ran all the smaller ones (except for the first 5K)…

When my friend and I trained for our first half we used a schedule that looked alot like yours...worked for us. We trained at the 3:1 pace as well. First 1/2 was 2:58 time and second was 2:42 :)

I started this a couple months ago...then had a procedure (ie no workout allowed for a week or so) and only went back 1/2 heartedly... I am going to start again today! Good luck to us both!!

This is true. The same thing used to happen to me and a friend. We would go for a run and her calorie burn would be significantly higher than mine for that reason.
