  • I've been doing keto since 2013. Add me if you like. :-) Diary is open.
  • Go here https://keto-calculartor.ankerl.com/ and figure out your real macros. This takes into account activity level, age, weight, height and body fat %. 1000 calories is really low and could be causing the stall. With a 30% deficit based on your weight and height you should be eating at least 1300 calories with no less…
  • It's really important to figure out what your daily macros are and gear your eating plan to those macros. r/keto has a really good sidebar link to figure out what those are for you. Are you logging your food correctly? How much water are you drinking? What is your height, weight and goals? You can't assume that a 7 lb loss…
  • When I realized I could make a crustless quiche using cheese as the crust. Made all the difference.
  • Jasmine, instead of a juice fast try a fat fast instead. It will literally kick start you back into ketosis. You might have a few rough days with keto headaches but you will absolutely know you are in ketosis within 3-4 days and possibly drop those 9 lbs you think you gained.
  • This is the best part of keto for me. I sleep the whole night. I don't wake up AT ALL. Doesn't mater what time I go to bed, I always wake up at 5:30 am and I feel rested. That never happened before keto. I have done two Carb Feed days in 4 months and I gotta tell you that I felt like **** and slept like **** afterwards. I…
  • I've been on keto since January 5th and in the first two months I dropped 20 lbs. Since March it has been a snails pace. BUT! Yes, there is a but... I am lifting weights twice a week so my weight might not be coming down but my size is shrinking. Large shirts fit me now and I can fit into a 14w (16 misses). My clothing…
  • I strongly believe that calorie restriction in the beginning is the reason people give up after a few weeks. They get hungry and end up gorging themselves on carbs. After years of eating carbs and never really feeling satiated, I think that people don't really know what it feels like to not be hungry and not have cravings.
  • My favorite craving killer is diet root beer and heavy cream. Tastes like a float and is very filling.

  • You should eat when you are hungry. Plain and simple. Don't count calories the first week or two. Just pay attention to your carbs. Also, when I incorporated bulletproof coffee into my breakfast I actually ate a normal breakfast (bacon and eggs) and had the bulletproof coffee the rest of the morning. It was only after I…
  • My favorite shoe at the moment is Skechers Go walk. I love them! They are super comfortable and the ones that just came out have memory foam in them.
  • Everyone here can add me!! :-) I can always use more keto support!
  • ^This! I am seeing more tone since I added a protein powder on the days I lift weights. I just add a scoop of Isopure to almond milk and blend it really good. I typically do two upper body weight days (Sunday and Wednesday). My back and shoulders are now getting very toned and my biceps are getting harder. I noticed the…
  • I currently have 3. Ankle, wrist and right shoulder. I am currently creating my goal weight tattoo. I keep adding things to it and then redoing it. It will be perfect soon! Add me if you like.. :-)
  • Your brain does not run on carbs, it runs on glucose which you can get from protein and fats. You don't actually "need" carbs.
  • You can build strength in your legs without squats. Any physical therapist can give you exercises to help strengthen the quads and hamstrings so you CAN do a squat effectively. I don't know how you feel about Pilates, but it's great for building up strength and easing pain in the joints.
  • Instead of doing squats try isometrics until you have built up strength in your quads and hamstrings. I didn't pay attention to my doctor when he told me to take it easy and developed patella femoral syndrome in both knees and two torn meniscus. Now I have chronic knee problems and have had surgery on one knee so far and…
  • I eat butter almost everyday. I also use extra virgin coconut oil in my coffee. When I run out CO, I replace it with butter. It's pretty damn good and gives me tons of energy. Also, the butter in your pan, leave it there and use it for the next meal.
  • Oh my! I need to try this.
  • I would suggest using a combination of olive oil, extra virgin coconut oil and butter (grass fed if you can get it). Each has their own health benefits so you can't go wrong giving yourself some variety. My preference is Land of Lakes unsalted butter in the sticks but I also like Land of Lakes with Olive oil. You get the…
  • This is not exactly true. Butter is actually quite healthy. Grass fed butter even better.
  • Exactly!!! This is not a temporary diet. This is a lifestyle change. Some of us have no choice but to turn to low carb and people need to fine tune these programs to work for them. I follow a Ketogenic program (65/30/5) and it works for me.
  • No carb is not the same as low carb. Low carb consists of vegetables that have high nutrional content: broccoli, green leafy veggies, spinach, cauliflower, berries just to name a few. Low carb eliminates most frankenfoods, sugar and incorporates good fat (olive oil, coconut oil).
  • I am hypoglycemic and have never felt better than I do eating low carb. It sucks that sugar, cereal, oatmeal, potatoes, rice and pasta made me tired, shaky and lethargic. I cut them all out and haven't had an epidode in a month nor do I need to take iron supplements ( I am also anemic). Low-carb is not for everyone but for…
  • I had a similar surgery December 17. I assumed I had a jacked up meniscus (which I did) but the pain was coming from arthritis. My doc didn't know until he got in there with the scope. He did a micro-fracture partial meniscetomy and I gotta tell you I am in pain often, even five weeks out from surgery. Ice, Advil and…
  • . If you are lifting weights you will not necessarily see the scalel number drop but notice your clothes fit more loose. Muscle weighs more than fat. Don't be a slave to the scale.
  • Google. r/keto Reddit. it's amazing.
  • My coworkers have been teasing me about what I eat. They are the kind of people to point out when someone "falters" so that is my motivation to not cheat because I would have to hear their mouths. It's amazing when you start losing weight how people will start to give you advice and tell you it's going to all come back.…
  • Keto flu can last a day or even a few hours. I hit deep keto today and it gave me a headache. I just drank more water.
