  • Hello there, I am 52 and have been on MFP for a litttle over a year. Have lost 61.5 lbs. I am about halfway done. Please feel free to add me, the more support we each have, the better it is for ALL of us! Much Success on each and everyone's journey!
  • include it in your calories for the day and enjoy a little chocolate.
  • If you are eating betweetn 1400 - 1700 per day, you should be able to eat plenty of food and not be hungry. Just got to eat the right kinds of foods.....
  • I was able to start slowly, but I lost 60 lbs in 13 months. Making small changes, yet changes that I will be able to live with for the rest of my life.
  • Okay...so I have a relaxer, and I should put conditioner in my hair before I work out, rinse it out after the workout (due to sweat and stuff) and then co-wash it afterwards. Once this is done, can I blow dry it again... and do I do this everyday, as I work out most days?
  • Thank you for the above information. You are right, I do not rinse after working out. Didn't know that I needed to. Okay... going to start wearing my hair in a ponytail during the week, and down only on the weekends as the maintenance would do as much damage as this non rinsing is doing!
  • I work out right after work. Change my clothes before I leave the building and go. Otherwise, if I go home, once I am there, I will not come back out. On the weekends, I get up, just like I am going to work and go and work out. I love doing it in the morning so that I have the rest of the day to do ..... whatever. When…
  • I think that learning to TRULY love oneself is hard for someone that is overweight to do. Being overweight myself and never having a problem with dating, getting married, getting a job, having kids, etc because of my weight, I still was not able to FALL in love with me! I used to shout to the world that I LOVED me. But,…
  • It is hard but you can do it. One day at a time. Don't beat yourself up for getting off track.. just make sure to get back ON track. Feel free to add me as a friend for support. I have been obese most of my adult life. When I turned 51, I decided to make a committment to myself and so far (1 year), I have lost more than 55…
  • Try to set smaller goals so that you won't feel so overwhelmed. Once you reach a goal, set another one. But, don't worry about the long term, as far as weight loss goes. Just learn to eat healthier and exercise regurlarly.
  • In my past, I felt that I did not eat alot, but I failed to realize that I ate FAST FOOD most days of the week and I grazed all day long. I ate something sweet every single day, so I see where they may think that they don't eat alot. But, my question was more geared to how do I respond when I am told this. More often than…
  • Those are absolutey divine. but not ALL Greek Yogurts taste that good.
  • my goal is to add to what I am currently doing, to not only speed up my weight loss, but to change my body composition. To help firm up some of this loose skin that I have started to develop due to my weight loss. To get rid of this.. ugly cellulite that I have on my thighs.. that has gotten even worse with my losing…
  • BEST ADVICE....Thank you, I needed that!
  • so, if I read your post correctly, I should not go with the calorie burn that MFP has set up through ZUMBA, because it is completely overestimated????
  • I love my shape in clothes. I am in between an hourglass and pear and as I lose weight... it is really coming into view. I have a big ole booty...and like the others, my hands, wristts, face and ankles are still lady like and delicate, despite my being obese. I LOVE my eyes (hazel) and the gap in my teeth.
  • Wut she said^^^^^
  • This is a success story. It doesn't matter how long it takes you to get to the point where being healthy is a part of your life. What matters is that you are now working towards it. YOU LOOK GREAT~~~ Keep it up!
  • I literally cried when I read your post. I saw me and my 40 something years of being pretty, but fat. I never had a problem attracting friends and men, but.. I hated the fact that had to use a seatbelt extender in my car and on an airplane (wearing a coat or sweater to cover that fact up), that I couldn't keep up with my…
  • how are you guys coming up with your goals? I see so many different goals!
  • a view from an OLD woman. The girl is a non-issue in this. What she did, has no effect on your or your relationship. She took care of herself and that is what she is supposed to do. Your issue, should COMPLETELY lay with your dude. Why he allows himself to drink so much, why you two argue, and why he allows himself to get…
  • You are probably burning 2000 calories, because of ZUMBA. I do that also, for an hour and I burn 1156 calories. Your diet is low on the calorie scale.. how many calories is it?
  • Your story was riveting and brought tears to my eyes. To have to go through so much at such a young age and yet, you did, survived and are able to tell the story. Please Keep telling your story. Record it and place it on YOUTUBE. It is an amazing story and needs to be heard. Such an inspiration to keep going no matter what…
  • I don't know how old you are, but what I can say that eating junk food will not be good for your body, your weight and your health when you get older. It most definitely will affect your health. So, be careful!
  • Sorry that this happened to you, but life is forever having it 's ups and downs. You should have some fruit or something at work, or even a few protein bars at your desk, this way if it happens again, you have something to nibble on until you get home!
  • we are the same height and I started out with way more weight.. but have lost 56 lbs, so far, since January. And, I too am fighting depression, (lost my independence, my home and my car) but exercise is one of the main things that is helping me fight it. You have to find one that you love though, then it doesn't feel iike…
  • Open your diary up, please, so that we can take a look at it and possibly give you some advice. I am 52 and have lost over 56 lbs this year, so it can be done! :-)
  • igrix = my calorie burned count, is from ZUMBA. It is based upon MY weight. Not the average person's weight. I do not eat all of my exercise calories back. But, I do eat most of them back. on a good day about 70 percent.. average day about 50%. I do weigh and measure my food... and I have since lost 3 additional pounds, so…
  • all of the above and KNOWING that I am adding more years to my life versus taking away from them with each year that I WAS obese! What a wonderful feeling!
