  • Hi all...(who might remember me!!) Back to mfp after a hiatus last year of preparing for my daughter's wedding and then loads if other things going on... so we'll and truly fell off the wagon!! Climbed back on - pulling myself up with all my fingernails dug in. Looking forward to reclaiming my (previously very successful)…
  • Hi everyone..☺..Back on board after a 6 month "binge" following my primadonna's wedding. My aim is to log EVERTHING again and NOT to weigh myself continuously! Nice seeing you all again..☺
  • could he not just be giving his opinion? Didnt come across as "boasting" to me!!!
  • you are not skinny fat, dear... you are normal... embrace it:-)
  • My two pennies worth: I find any diet that is referred to as having "rules" is my definition of a "fad" diet! Secondly, on a personal note, seriously no bread...EVER??
  • I reckon his goal should be not to lose any more weight...ummm OP... has noone told you the extreme skinny man is not particularly attractive to women??... or was that just in my day??.. course you might not be interested in interesting women.. no idea what interests men not interested in women (now I am getting involved…
  • uh huh are you trolling??
  • well...go ahead...noone is stopping you, if that is your aim in life. Just dont go purporting it as a normal body fat percentage for the average young woman who still wishes to maintain a normal fertility. By all means be "atheletic"...and certainly dont aplogise for it. I never said you should apologise. Good luck with…
  • nope...not normal...too low...unhealthy, ...oh dear!!
  • 18% body fat for a woman is not normal....no wonder it cant be sustained!! Stop beating yourselves up lovely young ladies, embrace a normal body fat percentage (about 25%) for young women. You are MEANT to have a bit of body fat...it keeps you healthy. Stop making such derogotory remarks about yourselves...it gives off the…

  • Very good post. Just a thought though, it isnt about losing ALL fat, just the unhealthy amount. Some fat is VERY important, especially for women in their reproductive years :-)
  • <~~~~here she is Cassie (my very own personal trainer!) beautiful yellow lab....who TALKS!!!! She also keeps me personnally accountable to an exercise regime... i.e. walking/hiking!!!
  • I watched the Horizon programme on it. Of course, the sugar defines all carbohydrates not just refined sugars. So basically identical twin doctors (male!) decided to try, for one month only, to try opposit diets. One ate only fat (including animal protein) but no carbs at all. The other twin only ate carbs. It was…
  • I agree with this. Going back to the description "skinny fat". To my way of thinking someone who is just within the normal bmi range is not "skinny". Neither are they fat. They are of a normal weight but may have a slightly raised bidy fat percentage. A skinny person (to my wsy of thinking) is someone bmi of 18-20 and are…
  • I hate the term "skinny fat"!!...how rude. Never heard it till I came on mfp. Before giving your boyfriend's family advice re:their diet, maybe you should direct them to their family Dr for professional advice first!...just a thought, mind
  • I remember when this had me in a DREADFUL tiz!! Hang in there, in the general weekly consensus it wont make a blind bit of difference.. one bit of crisp (chips) eating, plus burritos, plus a bit of rice is SMALL fry in your long term goal. Please dear lady...stop freaking out xx
  • Hi OP! I stopped reading all the replies on page one when people started getting a bit pedantic about how to define an addiction and others started to get defensive about eating fast foods! Ok, my solution is to recreate my favourite fast food treats in my own kitchen. Now, I find the likes of macdonalds bland and. .. well…
  • oh god YESSSSS!!!!!
  • not in baby weights....we weigh and measure new born babies in grams/cms....then have to translate for the general UK population...tho NOT for our European immigrants!!
  • not metric.... but imperial!!!!
  • lol...yes...thought so!!!!
  • I thought that comment was "tongue in cheek".... (a nice bit of irony even)
  • lol...funnnny
  • Now I have NO idea if the phases of the moon can affect the way we lose weight. But it certainly affects the oceans and being a midwife, I can assure we KNOW we are much busier at the full moon. So, it may not be such a silly idea afterall!
  • What gets me about this thread is that the OP stated that she wanted non-judgemental friends. She didnt ask if she should have non-judgemental people on her friend's list so why do people feel they need to debate it? The OP isnt asking for advice so why the need to give it?
  • interested....do you watch it cuz you like it or cuz it is anti -American (my impression from what you said earlier) and it feeds an itch you have for being cross at anything that might be pointing an admonatory finger at the influence the USA has on the rest of the world. Have to admit... if it is the latter... I…
  • havnt read all the replies...so apologies if I am repeting. Smoking is a laxative...so is eating. So as you have cut out smoking AND you have decreased your food intake. ..your bowels will be feeling the pinch (so to speak!!) Hang in there. .. it WILL eventually sort itself out...meanwhile lots of fibre. .. good luck:smile:
  • I agree with "Them"....yes, certainly a good part of it is for looks... but mostly I think those who have been struggling for a good whileand dealing with a good amount of excess weight.. it IS about HEALTH!! Now of course there are those who are almost under weight already who wish to achieve under weight status who have…
