This ^. ^ And I try really hard to keep the high sugar/calorie stuff out of my house. This time of year of holidays and birthdays is challenging for me. I keep little reminder post it notes around so I don't forget how hard I've worked and how happy I am at being 65+ pounds lighter and counting. Hang in there and be honest…

I was on a fast track to surgery when I discovered MFP. The support and accountability of an open diary, as well as three out of three of my close friends who had bariatric surgery have ALL had some kind of complication. Two of them had problems more than three years lateras well and one almost died from blood loss during…

If only *one* then it would have to be lingerie with garters. Can't wait till goal weight, cuz I know exactly what I'm buying first.

This. ^ Never really thought about it. I was a 22, now 14 is getting baggy but 12 is still too snug, especially around my legs. Dr says it's because of my muscle disorder (my legs have disproportionate amount of muscle mass compared to other women my size). Hopefully I can get to a 10, but 12 would be great!

Sometimes we do things because we like the results.

Sarcasm. You were doing it right.

Way to keep on with your goals in spite of cruel, insensitivity. You are doing awesome. Mean people will get their's at some point. You are a rock star!:flowerforyou:

Ditto. If you think most nurses sit on our *kitten* all day, you obviously don't know what you're talking about. :noway:

Stabilyze (formerly Diabeteze) bars are fantastic! Lower calorie than any other bar I've found. Works great for me when I've got to work thru lunch or if I get evening "munchies". They were formulated by a Natropathic physician and have low glycemic index.

I'm in at 180 minutes. Hopefully this will help me stay exercise motivated. With cerebral palsy and spinal cord injury, I need all the motivation I can get. Thanks for the suggestion! :-)

Thanks for the suggestions! :-)

The Vaseline causes the goggles to slip and keeps them from sealing out the water. I'm hoping the one company that has a decent barrier cream will get some in stock soon. They recommend not using it under the goggles, but I'm so desperate I'm going to try it anyway. Thanks so much for the suggestions. :-)

If there are cash or gift prizes, a non-participant should take and record measurements. When I participated in something similar, no one knew each other's percentages or numbers until the end. It definitely kept me motivated till the very end!

Also, bras should be replaced every six months or so. You should also make sure that you're putting your boobs up where they belong. When you're putting it on, bend down at the waist and lift the breast from the bottom up into the cup of the bra. The bra should be snug, without gaping and your boobs should not touch the…

I had a similar issue. I've since bumped up my activity level by a lot and my calories up 200/day. Hopefully that will work. Good luck!

^^^this^^^ I agree, occasional treats are a must (for me). In my opinion, if I'm eating a whole bag of something, it better be a single serving bag. Any time I binge, I end up feeling bleh.

Since water workouts are best for me, I love the two pools and two hot tubs for soaking afterward.

Don't look back at what you did (or didn't do) yesterday. Focus on the change you want to see in yourself and what you're going to do today to reach your fitness goals. If stepping on the scale will motivate you to change, then do it. If it will cause you to give up or beat yourself up, then don't weigh yourself. Get back…

I have been looking for group like this. It would be great to find other like-minded individuals. I am an every day logger. Up till 2 weeks ago I was exercising three times a week. I had three bad falls in three weeks and so I have to take it easy and no exercise for a little while. I have cerebral palsy and some spinal…

Started in November at 235, currently at 192. Goal is 155. I'm halfway there! :-)

I find that the open diary helps me quite a bit (knowing that my friends can see what I'm eating). I find that it helps me to be more mindful of exactly what I'm buying at the grocery store, knowing that once I bring it home I have the potential for "pigging out" if I buy the junk food. When I do have snack or junk food, I…

I too would love a more current Portland group! I'm on MFP every day and logging will be lifelong for me. It would be great to find other locals with similar goals. :-)
