I see the appeal of the meal-kit delivery services. New, tested recipes right to my door. But that's the only appeal, in my opinion. Food prep (i.e., slicing, dicing, chopping, etc.) is still required. Yes, you end up with a pretty, restaurant-worthy dish. However, you spent at least 30 minutes in the kitchen doing food…

Well they don't look monstrously huge, just comfortably baggy. BUT, my pants slide down when I put my phone in my pocket. Waaaaay too far down. Far enough down, that I would be flashing people if I weren't wearing my too large undies. I think that I'm just afraid of my new pants. They're eeeeeeevil.

We're not going to discuss my baggy sweaters that are now mini-dress length. I had a few tops that were comfortably loose, that are falling off the shoulders big now. I've started a donation pile in the corner. I still have over 100 lbs to lose... someone is going to get a LOT of clothes.

I'll give it a try tomorrow morning. Thank you for the advice, everyone.

I use the fork dip then salad method. You use a LOT less that way.

Moonstroller, I think you just identified my problem. The need for a daily weight-loss affirmation. Now... how do I overcome it?

I have chronic sciatic flare-ups due to a car accident 30 years ago. One good sneeze and my back will go out. I swear by stretching exercises. I googled "sciatic stretching" and came up with the same chart (and other good ones) that my physical therapist and orthopedist gave me over 30 years ago. Here's the link:…

I'm not sure that you're food quantities are accurate, which may get you in trouble down the road. You've been logging using measuring cups. You need to get an inexpensive digital food scale that measures in grams. You can normally find one for about $20 on Amazon. I agree about your fat levels being too low. Your body…

Unless she comes up to you and asks HOW you've been losing weight, stay out of it. And even then, answer knowing your advice won't be appreciated. Someone at my office recently asked me how I was losing weight, and I mentioned MFP. Her response: You mean you have to log EVERYTHING you eat??? My response: Why, yes. But its…

There's nothing wrong with carbs, they're in everything. I think the poster was talking about starchy carbs such as those found in bread, rice, potatoes, crackers, etc. While I occasionally eat starchy carbs, I find they don't keep me satisfied for long periods. Lots of protein does the trick, for me. I start my day with…

I never noticed the scale icon on the webpage. Learned something new!

Shhhh... I'm hiding from the Girl Scouts. Don't tell them where I am.

Start swimming. Much lower impact, while still getting a good workout.

The pants that I didn't like (and didn't fit), that now fit (and I now like), are becoming too long. Also, why are all my sweaters too long now??

I recently went gym shopping, and for a "No Judgement Zone", they seemed very judgemental.

Phew! I'm glad that I don't like apples. Now if it was oranges, I'd have some issues.

I think that age will affect your eyesight more than weight loss.

Weigh all your food using a digital food scale (set to grams as the unit of measure), and log EVERYTHING you consume.

Don't look at what your friend is doing... she's not you. Only watch yourself. As to getting carbs under control, okay... it can't hurt. But that doesn't mean eliminate ALL carbs... control them. The way you do that is by getting a digital food scale, then weighing and logging everything you eat. I'm also a bread junkie. I…

Was talking about this just last night with the hubby. He summed it up well: "BIOLOGY SUCKS!" (his words, not mine)

1200 calories? A big emphatic NO! Use the recommended calories that MFP gave when you fill out your profile (probably 1800'ish for a 2 lb per week loss). What you're currently doing is not sustainable. Remember, you didn't gain the weight overnight, and you can't lose the weight overnight, no matter how hard we wish it.…

As long as you log the bread, pasta and pizza, you should be able to stay on the weight loss path. If you deprive yourself needlessly, you'll lose focus. Remember, you actually have two goals: lose weight and develop new sustainable habits. So, instead of a whole bagel, go for half or some lower calorie toast (2 slices of…

Sleep! If I don't get enough sleep, the scale goes up. But that may just be me.

What she said! I thought the same thing.

Having someone check your form once in a while can't hurt -- especially with all the new machines in the gym. When I recently rejoined the gym, I received 4 complimentary 30 minute sessions. There are so many new machines in the gym, that I didn't know how to use half of them. We focused on learning proper form for the…

You look fantastic! Great job (and inspirational)!!

If you want to bring an apple and avoid the overpriced snack stand, cut the apple into wedges and store it in a ziploc baggie. It should fit nicely in your pocket (without getting all linty).

I LOVE my snap peas... eating them now. <lol>

Once you start using a food scale, you'll find it gets easier and easier. At first, it's kind of tedious, but in no time at all, it becomes a breeze. I can get my breakfast and lunch measured out before my tea is ready. Lately, I've started to make a game of it.... how close to 85 grams (1 serving) is this handful of…

I develop the same problem when I don't get enough fat in my diet. I'm working with a health coach (through my insurance) and she sent me the following link: http://www.consultant360.com/n411/articles/constipation-relieving-it-healthy-way
