This was me. I gained a lot in a very short time once i tried a few meds. The good thing is that there are medications which will work without weight gain, the trick is finding the right one. Topamax was supposed to be the miracle drug for me, but all it did was make me tired. Another one caused a 60 lb gain in 3 months.…

Always looking for active friends. Many people haven't logged on for months or are inactive. Feel free to add me for support and motivation!

If only I had a bow...

I don't drink diet soda because of the artificial sweeteners and the numerous health issues associated with them, but I love coca cola, especially the Mexican version with real sugar. If I go cold turkey I'm fine, but one slip and it takes me months to recover. I don't drink it everyday but even twice a week is bad. In…

same here - would like to add new active friends. Most of mine have become inactive. Feel free to add me. I did well last year, but really want to double down this year.

Looking to add friends for accountability, support, and fun. Most of my friends on here haven't logged in for months or are now inactive. I did well last year but am looking to step up my game this year with more races and challenges. Please feel free to add me if you want support along the way on your journey!

I would love some friends who will be active! It makes accountability fun.

I have to agree - get fitted for a good sports bra. you'd be surprised what you need. It's not just about size - different styles fit people differently. I have one that can be adjusted so it will fit for a while even I lose weight.

Meal planning will be your best friend. Take it one day at a time. Expect setbacks and expect it to be a process. Set a realistic goal every week. Small changes will be easier to maintain than a big overhaul. Good luck!!
-
oh yes...it actually depresses me how slow the process can be. trying to focus on NSV!

I'm always open to new friends! I log every day. I like helping others so anyone feel free to add me.

As someone with bipolar, anxiety, and depression, I know how tough it is. I focus on one day at a time and how good I feel after eating well and exercising, not on the weight loss. I do take medication because I have tried alternative methods many times, and fought against taking meds, but without medication, none of them…

6 days a week takes a lot of work. You might want to start as suggested every other to get into the habit then add days. You don't want to burn out. I don't want to discourage anyone, but if you're not working out now, setting too aggressive goals will not help you succeed.
-
Without knowing your current fitness level even as a beginner, I would cut back on some of the cardio and add strength training in there. Muscle will not make you big plus you will burn more calories at rest as well change the shape of your body. Make sure you can keep with 6 days a week as well. You might want to try 4…

I did my first sprint triathlon a few weeks ago. Swimming was hard since I just learned how to swim and I completely forgot what to do once I got in the water! Also running after the bike portion was tough since my lower back hurt, but I completed it and that was my goal. Good luck to you!

you won't know until you try. if they're free, it's a great way to meet people and perhaps try something new. Plus classes can be very motivating. Try the class a few times. If the instructor is open to all fitness levels, you will know after about 2 or 3 times. I once took a class, many many moons ago, at my old gym where…

I'm always up for meeting people who are dedicated to their journey and open to all people!

Always glad to help. I log in daily, work out regularly. Still on my journey.

There were some great suggestions already. Just wanted to add that being healthy and setting a good example is a wonderful gift to children. A few hours a week by yourself is a good thing as well and you can make some days a family outing if possible!

Got out in the cold and rain for a run! Prepped and ate healthy!

Yup. I completely understand. I have bipolar and am trying to get a diagnose for all over pain issues for a few months now. Having bipolar and a physical disorder just seems like pouring salt into the wound. I'm okay for a while then BAM, depressed or pain or some combo of the two, combine with emotional eating and I feel…

been there. What is helping me now is waking up each day and thinking, what one thing can I do toward my goal? It's surprising how that sets the tone for the whole day. I find myself making better overall decisions with food and exercise just because I focused on one thing, one day, each day. Having long-term goals is…

Hi all, I've been on and off running for about a year, really trying to focus on endurance. Based on a silly facebook post I made NYE, my friends have challenged me to 75 miles by March 31st. Since I only did 12 in January, my goal for February is 30 miles. Cold and rainy here, but I got 1 mile in. My knees have been…

Also, youtube has some great videos as well, on everything from form to routines to learning new exercises. Start basic - 4 or 5 weight-based exercises for upper body and the same for lower body. In the beginning I wouldnt get too technical like isolating shoulders or chest or whatnot because anything you do will go a long…

Just to echo others, dont worry about it. I was 250 lbs when I started. Luckily, there's a community track near my house so it wasnt so bad as being on the road, but still, teenagers would sometimes giggle when i went by if they were there. But I continued on, because i wasnt about to give anyone that kind of power of me,…

Yeah..overall sounds like a good salad, except the blue cheese *shudder* lol. I think the walnuts OR the cheese would have been good for the fat. Plus portion size has a lot to do with it. Live and learn!

I just come to these threads for the GIFs...
