  • Hello all! I just joined this group today though I've been on Myfitnesspal for a while. I'm sort of "starting over" so to speak and deleted my myfitness friends who I had nothing in common with to focus on my actual fitness goals, learning to hoop! I'm taking classes in hooping/hoop dancing and I hoop everyday with a…
  • I LOVE my merrell pace gloves and new balance minimus' but I agree with everyone else that our feet are all differently so best thing is to try them on/ get help. (Caveat for me, professional fitters never helped me because i prefer somewhat "barefoot" shoes, though not vibrams. but it seems to work for others.)
  • Little shorter at 5'3 but close enough? I'm 5'3, currently about 124, goal weight is between 110-115. I have a small frame so even though I'm in a healthy BMI its too much for me.
  • Right there with you! I've watched Sherlock and didn't think much of his looks either way, but HOT DAMN in Star Trek....I got cumberbatched.
  • Agreed. I thought it was awful and I LOVE avocados and anything chocolate. Total waste. Except that I told my bf it was chocolate mousse so he took a huge bite and seeing his face made up for the wasted effort a little...
  • sorry if i sound mean! i have an interview coming up and am really grumpy. And been reading a lot about fat acceptance and its striking a chord. Anyway...carry on.
  • This post seems unproductive. I ate junk as a kid too, capri suns every day, and twinkies as dessert. We went to fast food at least 2-3 times a month. We were overall healthy though, and you have no idea what these people are like in general. A slurpee once in a while isn't a problem, and you really have no idea how they…
  • oh no i better start wearing more sunscreen. I'm 25! Not even commenting on the other two guesses :)
  • Haha its true. Though honestly none of my friends are stereotypical women's studies majors that apparently overrun SF. I'm probably the most like that of us all.
  • I'm glad my boyfriend doesn't subscribe to stupid internet lists nor expects me to either. :) Gender is a social construct.
  • I would try them out first. The only machine I can handle being on longer than five minutes is the treadmill. I watch MSNBC or Netflix movies and the time flies. I HATE the elliptical and if I bought it, would never use it. They both burn calories so get whichever you are more likely to use.
  • Organic. Whether or not its healthier is up for debate, but its healthier for the planet. I will only buy organic eggs and dairy, and do my best with produce. Sometimes with bananas and stuff I won't if the non-organic are fresher. Buy local and seasonal too if you can...that's probably even more important than organic.
  • Office drone but just applied to teaching school..hoping to become a high school teacher eventually.

  • I want a defined jaw line again and thinner arms (I store my weight in my face and arms :( of course.) I'm looking forward to feeling good in tank tops and shorts this summer. And maybe even exercising outdoors in shorts one day.
  • After health, I just want to be happy with me, My body isn't happy at its current weight because I got here through disordered eating habits, which I'm slowly working through. I want to eat normally and exercise normally and not binge or starve myself anymore. And of course vanity, I look okay in winter clothes but would…
  • It's funny, my college gym didn't even allow sleeveless shirts. You actually got kicked out if you tried. And it was a state school, not a religious one or anything. So I would never think of just wearing a sports bra, but...I guess there's nothing actually wrong with it, if you are more comfortable like that. As long as…
  • I was going to reply that yeah, my boyfriend won't work out with me because he's too tired and that tends to make me not want to either...plus he will buy unhealthy snack food to eat right in front of me which makes it harder! But not quite the same as your situation...he's working 12 hours a day to my 8 hours so I suck it…
  • I started dating my bf when he was hitting the gym four times a week and very ripped. Well, life happened and four years later he, while not overweight, is not fit and lost most of that muscle. I think he's just as lovely as when we started dating and while I'd like him to go back to the gym for health reasons, it would…
  • oh also, my really fit friend recommended me the website toneitup.com. they post a new video every week and some make it to youtube i think.
  • Kind of want to throw mine out but I bought a stainless steel pan and it sticks like crazy. So I just didn't cook. Finally bought teflon and just said screw it...cant be much worse than walking around running cars all the time in the city. Responding to see if any tips come up on how to cook without everything sticking!…
  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xzgc-h5ObhA its a barre workout but i just use a chair. good when you want a short leg workout, i'm just beginning exercising again and it was hard for me! not sure it will be if you are more advanced.
  • I'm not scared of weights themselves, I'm scared of lifting at the gym. I'm weak and feel embarrassed with my 5 or 8 lb dumbbells that I struggle to use for anything other than bicep curls. Watching dudes lift 10x or more more than me made me feel bad about myself. So I'd stick to the machines but didn't feel like it was a…
  • Our cereal bar at the office didn't have organic milk today, only regular. And the Cheerios are running low and every other cereal we have is full of sugar. And, I'm reduced to going to my office's cereal bar because I'm sick of the oatmeal, luna and clif bars we also have, and I forgot to bring my own breakfast.
  • Holy moly what do you do??? 15 hour days! I think someone said this, but maybe you can incorporate exercise during your day? Walking around, squats by the printer, dips at your desk, so you can get as much sleep as possible. There are some sites that tell you all sorts of exercises you can do at the desk.
  • Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll start with some stir fries, ground meat, and perhaps fish. When I say meat disgusts me, I know its irrational which is why I want to give it a shot again. I eat eggs and dairy after all. And I don't want to subsist on tofu and protein shakes instead, trying to go more natural (though…
  • It's not the same. I currently view meat the way you might view a pie made of flies (sorry to be gross.) It's..not food to me and I really know nothing about cooking it or eating it. Just asked for some advice, that's all.
  • Can you give some example meals? Seems like a lot to cut out! I already don't eat meat and am thinking of cutting out gluten and dairy (though I love eggs)
