  • Caffeine is a diuretic, so not really.
  • Keep it up. I did most of my C25K program on an inside flat track. I thought that I was doing great, until I went for a run outside! It is totally different. Your best bet is to train in realistic conditions... changes in elevation, temperature, etc... make outdoor running much more difficult then track/treadmill running.…
  • How long to you ride the bike before running? I don't know that I'd do that. [/quote] i ususally start every gym session off with 35mins on the bike then hit the treadmil. this was not a problem during week1 but today i really felt it. so im think on C25K days ill just start on the treadmil and the do the bike after if i…
  • Actually, for a short run in the morning, I usually have a cup of coffee and just go. I might have a yogurt or toast with peanut butter. If you're going to eat anything more than that, you really need to wait a while to let it digest. Good luck!

  • Great job! By the way, I finished C25K almost a year ago and still hear those voices when I start out. I am training for a 10K next month and when running yesterday, I targeted 6 miles. Like you said, when I started out, I convinced myself that I wouldn't finish... legs were tired, I was out of breath, had a stomach ache,…
  • You are going to burn roughly the same number of calories per mile... But, obviously, running is going to get you there more quickly! No worries - do what you enjoy! Good luck!
  • Given the combination of walking and jogging in the early part of the program, I think it will be hard to comment on your pace. In reality, however, at this point, it really doesn't matter. You should be running at a pace that is comfortable for you and enables you to complete that day. I wouldn't work about speed until…
  • No shame in repeating days. That's how the program is designed to work. If you've made it to week 6 without any repeated days, that's pretty good! Great job!
  • Not much too add, it's a pretty simple program and YOU CAN DO IT! What I was say is if you struggle with one particular day and can't finish, don't get discouraged. Repeat that day the next time and keep repeating it until you finish, then move on. You are kidding yourself if you think you can move on without completing…
  • A big CONGRATULATIONS to you! I finished the C25K program about 8 months ago and promptly broke my ankle! So, after being out of commission for a few months, I have completed two 5K races and am registered for a 10K next month! I am 49 years old and literally did not think I could run before I started C25K program. Now I…
  • I agree with most of the above comments. Forget about speed, that will come later. Download a C25K app on your phone and follow it religiously. That's how I did it... I've done one 5K already and am scheduled for another later this month, then will be registering for a 10K. I am in my 40s and never ran before and really…
  • They are perfectly fine if they fit in your calorie and overall macro goals for the day. I eat Cliff Bars all the time if I am not able to have dinner before I work out.
  • I was having an issue like that. It was either not giving me any reading, or was shooting up to 199 and just staying there. I read the directions and discovered that you need to wash the strap after every 5 or so uses. Not just rinse it... It makes a big difference. You also need to make sure that you have it in a good…
  • I agree with Default. I always try to over estimate food calories and under estimate calories burned from exercise.
  • Beef jerky, nuts, yogurt, snickers.
  • You have no idea how much you lost because it is not likely that your scale and your moms are exactly in sync. If you want to continue using your moms, that's great, but it's important to weigh yourself on the same scale every time (and at the same time).
  • I agree with this. I generally buy the store brand. Just check the ingredients. All I want is peanuts and salt. You can also grind your own, or I know that a few grocery stores (Whole Foods for example) allow you to grind your own peanut and almond butter in the store.
  • Weight lifting - preferably compound lifts. It really works! Good luck!
  • Of course you will lose weight... While you are actually following the diet. How long will that be?
  • If you don't want to cook in the morning, and I don't blame you...Precook some hardboiled eggs. You can either warm them in the morning, or eat them cold. You can also precook bacon.
  • Are you saying that you have the exact same three meals every day of your life? Why? To answer your question, no one can tell you if it's okay to have the bagel and cream cheese because no one really knows the amount of calories in that bagel or the cream cheese, we also don't know your overall calorie goals, exercise,…
  • I hope your kidding about 12,000 calories!
  • Consistency is all that matters... Same scale, same time of day, same level of clothing or lack thereof...
  • 12 weeks is months... Just saying...
  • If you hate running, I'm not sure why you are doing it. There's no reason to push through. There are plenty of ways to exercise. IMO, you are unlikely to be successful if you are not enjoying what you are doing.
  • Cut into chunks and roasted with olive oil, salt and oregano.
  • Let's just say that I buy a lot of Makers Mark...
  • Best of luck! C25K is a great app and a great program to follow. I actually completed it over the winter, but unfortunately broke my ankle shortly after... So after regaining my strength, etc... I am finally ready for a race. I have my first later this month and am registered for another in August. I love running now... My…
