I sent you a request! I'm technically not a new grad anymore but I'm still dealing with the stress of transitioning into an rn role. I work night shift so i struggle with finding the energy to exercise everyday and get my eating under control at work. I've still been able to lose 25 pounds though!

Way to go on getting started! Measurements can be a better way to see success anyway. Are you military? I'm being nosy ;) anyway, good luck on your progress! You can friend me if you want, i log in every day.

Thank you for sharing this.

I find that I sleep a lot better (I used to wake up every hour-hour/half) but I get up way earlier and I'm more energized. Like I'll only need 6 hours and I run fine all day and don't need to nap. I miss sleeping in sometimes but I like the extra time during the day where I used to nap!

Nightshift here! I'm part-time right now while I'm in school but it still sucks trying not to snack. I don't do it when I'm on a day schedule but all I want to do at work is eat! I don't have kids yet but I would definitely say I'm an emotional eater as well. Feel free to add me as a friend!

I lost almost 30 pounds last year and got comfortable (i.e. stopped working out and making healthier choices), but I continued to weight myself. As the ounces and pounds crept back on, I'd think "Oh one pound isn't bad...I'm still in the 160s...a few more ounces won't hurt...." and then there came a point when I stopped…

I think you probably made the best decision here, even though the consequences are crappy for now. I just started a BSN program and I'm stressed out-haven't even made it to the hard part yet! Getting out of that class is going to do wonders for your mindset and stress level. You already know you can do the work, so when…

I've been off for a few months now and this is my second day back! I've had to really dig deep to find the desire to start logging and working out again. I have a few easy goals and a reunion coming up so that's helped. Maybe if you have something tangible to work toward then the motivation will follow later! At least…

I'll add you! I've had some bad months...weight is staying the same and the clothes fit but I'm not eating nutritionally valuable food. I'll buckle down for a day and then eat crap the next.

I had the 32 gb old school ipod and the case I had was a silicone wrap-around with the velcro armband. It was nice but the ipod was heavy and the cord on my headphones (the ipod ones and the ones I bought) was short. When I was running and pumping my arms, the buds would get pulled out sometimes. No recommendation on a…

Well...if it were me, I'd try to do something like youtube or google my particular mp3 player and see if there's anything to be done about transfering my music to what I already had. After that, if you still couldn't figure it out, I would look at maybe an ipod nano? If you just want the music capabilities it might make…

That's good! And you'll prove her wrong. I know this will seem like I'm a creepy stalker (but I'm not!) but I saw your post about how you do roller derby and I just wanted to say that's pretty cool :blushing: It takes a lot to do that!

Sounds like you have a pretty good handle on it. It's just once a week and if you "budget" your calories and she normally makes better stuff, a once-in-a-while thing isn't too bad. It's hard to find that you/family balance!

Filling up on salad before you go sounds like a good plan. Maybe you can offer to make the dinners like a potluck-you can bring a salad or some veggies as a side or fruit for dessert. Just offer it as "oh you don't have to work so hard if we all pitch in" kind of thing. If that makes sense! Don't present it as your MIL is…

Thanks for the great ideas! I'm mostly feeling like a failure because it is so important to me...it's like-shouldn't you be over this already! Just sitting with my aching jaw feeling sorry for myself

I hate pimento cheese but I'd eat this!

Lvl2 day 3 done.

day 2 lvl 2...furthest I've ever been!
-
I started lvl2 day 1 today. Didn't do all 10 days of level one because I felt like it was too easy. I'm pouring sweat and I hate plank position!!! Trying level 2 is a nice change though...I've only ever done level 1!

Day 6. Previewed level two and I think I'm going to die.
-
day 5 lvl1 done.

Day 4 done. I really feel that I'm rocking the anterior raises with my 3 lb weights

did day 3 yesterday.

Lvl 1 day 2 done.

I take longer to transition exercises. Like today, I started 30ds. Never had a problem before ever in my life but vertigo showed up about 2 weeks ago and today I had to transition between exercises really slowly. I've been closing my eyes when it hits and it seems to help me. I mostly get the dizziness while laying down…

Can I jump in too? Did day one today! My arms are like jelly! I think I've only ever made it to level 2, day one but I was alternating days with running and just switched off to running only. My goal is the whole 30 days in 30 days!

Does your school have a gym with a shower? The one near my house does ( I live in Arizona so I understand about the sweat!). They usually have a discount for students too and you can pay by semester. Then you could rinse off at least.

I had to use unscented dove for a long time. The scented stuff gave me a rash. Maybe a sensitive skin formula?

I started with wanting 165 and now I'm down to 154-155. The lowest I've been was 149 but I don't think I wanna work as hard as I was then  I think it just depends on your frame.
