I don't understand why coming to MFP daily to stay accountable is a bad thing people go to AA and they are not criticized. Until someone is ready I don't think even a 'magic pill' would work, you have to really want it bad.

Forgot img had to be lower case, trying again.

1st time posting pics, hopefully this works.

Many times through my adult life, this time I was 53 and after surgery and a very long winter I ballooned up to my life highest. I was falling down and stumbling like I was 20 years older and knew if I didn't get it together I wouldn't be able to take care of my mom. With Gods help and much prayer I have been able to do…

Relaxation music for me and the Grand Daughter (6 yrs) as well. I like the Flutes and drum beats but no singing. One suggestion, If you are taking prescribed medication be sure to check with your Doctor or the Pharmacy before taking any additional supplements to make sure they won't cause issues being taken together.

Still waiting for a calorie count.

As everyone has stated you 'could' start working out but I would wait until you get the release from the Doctor as you do not want any infection to set in. Better to be save than sorry. That being said once you have been given the ok, I would say to let your body dictate how much you should do but don't over do it.

Just turned 54 and started AGAIN on June 1st, 2014. I lost weight when I was younger following the Weight Watchers plan counting calories but when they switched to their programs I couldn't get my mind around them and gave up. Finding MFP and being 'Ready' to change my eating habits has helped me gain control because I can…

Wow, what a difference! You look like a whole different person and I am so happy that your mindset has changed as well. Congratulations on facing your fears to get out in the world again.

I can only hope the person that made that comment about 'the other half' didn't realize how hurtful those words were and if you would have had the nerve to state your feelings an apology would have been given. That being said most people are only trying to encourage you to keep going on your success because they themselves…

Everyone should be able to tell the difference you look awesome, great work.

So jealous; I would start now if I could but I have to wait until my Doctor gives me to ok to start lifting due to healing from Surgery.

I find it easier to not have it in the house. My problem is when someone else brings it over I can say no only so many times before I cave in.
-
Good job, I cannot wait until I can share that success. Good luck with your surgery.

Maybe there is a deeper reason for your unhappiness and just need to seek counseling to find out what it is, there is nothing to be ashamed of by talking to a professional. I do agree with the others about lifting the weights and having an 'All About Me' day. Good Luck.

 Just what I needed.

I am 54 years old and have been on and off the diet roller coaster all my adult life. I had a double mastectomy in November 2013 and gained weight during winter recovery to my already obese self to a lifetime max of 240 pounds. I was falling and stumbling like I was 20 years older than what I was. On June 1st, 2014 I set a…

From someone who also has big legs I totally get it! Nice to see a new success story that we have not seen before.

Good for you getting it under control early in life. I am 54 years old and I am still working at this, but I have not given up.

Join a religious/church group I find people are eager to help and share.

Your weight loss sounds very good to me, there are others on this site that would give anything to be in your position. I actually like working out by myself because I can get in my own zone and not feel like I am holding someone up when they are finished and I am not.
-
Good job, I have never been successful keeping the weight off but it hasn't stopped me from trying again.
-
First I m glad your knees are doing better, second thanks for the laugh that I needed tonight and congratulations on your weight. Loss.
-
I tried it a long time ago but I couldn't sleep and it made me jittery, I gained all the weight back.
-
Good Job, keep up the good attitude.
-
You are a fighter, God see's this and is on your side. Stay strong and remember, one day at a time.

Good Job, not giving up is a huge success. I had fried food twice last week but that didn't stop me, I am on point today and that is what counts.

I occasionally use the Nutri Bullet which liquifies vegetables, fruit and I add some protein. I do this because I don't like some of the vegetables if eaten with a regular meal, i.e. Brussels sprouts, Kale, spinach, etc., but I can tolerate them in a morning drink. In the past I would forgo breakfast altogether so I feel I…
