I've had hashimotos for about 8 yrs. I'm on armour thyroid and I finAlly lost the extra 25 lbs eating the normal way anyone of my height and weight should do to lose weight. Before medication, even ultra low calorie diets did nothing. I don't do too much exercise unfortunately because of the extreme fatigue. I save my…

It's strange, I have sun allergy too - a bumpy itchy rash that lasts for weeks after exposure to direct sunlight. The worst incidence lasted 6 months with continuous peeling skin like eczema. The only thing that gets rid of it is topical steroid cream. I have hashimotos too, joint pain and a few other autoimmune diseases.…

I hear your frustration and am sorry you are going through so much. I can empathize a little having gone through thyroid issues, infertility and joint pain too. I have had hashimotos for over a dozen years maybe more but not until I gained weight suddenly and I felt extreme fatigue did I start looking for answers. I felt…

I have had Joint pain for a few years now and tested positive for RA antibodies. I didn't go to a rheumatologist like my doc suggested since I know the first thing they would do is put me on prednisone or some other horrible steroid to mask the symptoms. By experimenting with elimination diets, I found that milk and gluten…

Inspiring!

What is msm? I am on armor and once the dose was increase to 90mg my joint pain disappeared. I am just getting a little stiffness ocassionally in the mornings but it's nowhere near as bad as it used to be. Still having hair loss and some fatigue but don't want to increase dose anymore .

I hate exercise and lost weight without it. But my health is more important now, so I just do it. I don't wait for inspiration or energy or anything else. I complain all the way through but once I've done it, it's a good feeling.

Oh, that is amazing! Truly inspirational.

I think I will try taking at night too. I have also read that it's good to split the dose. Does anyone here do that?

Hello, I'm sorry you are going through this. I am prediabetic too. I am testing blood sugars every day fasting and one hour after every meal. I am avoiding anything that spikes the sugar more than 140 1hr after meals. That means avoiding certain foods, or reducing quantities of that food. I'm also exercising and aiming to…

OP: I am sorry you are having to deal with this. I started checking my blood sugars about three weeks ago and found that I am prediabetic too. My fasting levels are always 100-120. I have a family history also, so diabetes has always been something I have been concerned about. I have read around a lot since then and have…

Straight to my belly Eta: Oh, just read a previous post - yes! I think it is due to insulin resistance as well. I just found out I have prediabetic blood sugars :(
Definitely try to work at least 30 minutes of exercise per day into your routine. My diabetes educator said that this was like taking 5 units of long acting insulin per day as far as increasing my insulin sensitivity. I was insulin dependent and have gotten off it, but maintain the exercise regime. Now with…
As an insulin dependent T2 diabetic in addition to the other medications I take to manage this condition don't rule my life, if anything these medications will help me to prolong my life hopefully without complications and without shame.
Thanks Bob, I didn't mean to shame or blame anyone taking medication…

How strange, we have similar stats: I'm 5' ish, and started at 146, I've lose 23lbs and am now at my initial goal weight of 123lbs. I met a friend yesterday who said offhand oh, have you lost some weight? 23lbs for little ones like us is a lot! However, I didn't get any comments until I was below 130 (when it became…

Hi, I'm 41 and both parents have diabetes (my mom since she was 35). I had gestational diabetes in all of my pregnancies and needed insulin. I recently realized that I am prediabetic (a1c crept up from 5.7 to 6.0) but my doctor didn't show concern at the time. I recently had read bloodsugar101 after recommendation from…

Synthroid doesn't suit me so I take Armour thyroid. Once my dosage was stabilized I lost weight at the expected rate ie 1lb a week at 1400 cals a day which is a 500 cal deficit (I'm 5'1" and was then about 144lbs). Before medication I could not lose one pound a month on 900 calories diet. That's when I knew something was…

I am gluten free but still have dairy. I gave up milk though. I only did it because of nagging sinus and digestive issues unrelated to hashimotos (as far as I know), that seems worse with milk ingestion but limited cheese, yogurt etc seems ok. Going gluten free really is quite difficult and I did it to help with joint pain…

I'm 5'1" and 125lbs too. Measurements are 36-30-39. I hate my thick middle and it all started after my last baby, before that I had 36-27-38 measurements at the same weight and I was happy with that weight and measurements. To get a smaller waist I will need to lose more weight but then I will lose the chest and hips :(…

Hey we could be twins (except I'm much older). I'm 5'1" and hypo too. My weight crept up to almost 150! I am on armour now and am down to 125. My goal is 110-115 or whenever my blood sugar becomes comfortably in the normal range. The medication tends to increase blood sugar a bit, and I am just at a borderline a1c number…

I am now at my goal of 125. I am not at a healthy weight yet (based on health risks) so my next goal is 115. I thought I would be done by now :(
-
I'm 5' and 1/2 and 127lbs. My original goal was 125, but I'm rethinking it now. Still at quite high body fat, approx 27-29%.. Would love to be about 22%. I would need to get to 115lbs for that.

Great job!

Hey, sounds so much like my situation. I have pcos, hashis and metabolic syndrome (very stubborn belly fat). The pcos caused infertility for years and my hashis is just being treated. I also developed RA which also sucks, but it's just another autoimmune condition like hashimotos anyway. Plus loads of food sensitivities. I…

I'm 5'1/2" and wanted to get to 125. I am only 4lbs away, but I already know that I won't be happy there :( Need to really start exercising to firm things up. Ugw ??

Speechless.

Yes, it should help you in losing weight. I was dieting with a friend last year, she was losing pounds every month and I was at the same weight for two months. I was eating really low calories too. I realized that my hashimotos might be flaring up again (weight gain, plus fatigue and other symptoms) so my doc put me back…

Well done! Amazing progress. And in only 4 months? Wow.

Hi! Hashi here too Didn't need meds for a few years but last year felt terrible, fatigued, joint pain, cold etc. and the weight just wouldn't come off. Went back to the endo, back on armour and ohmigosh I lost 3 lbs this week when I've been busting my back trying to lose 0.5lb a week at low cals for three months. Maybe I…
