  • I think the best thing for me for a while based on what I have understood here and that video, thank you so much for that, is to keep on like this so that I can build my fitness and stamina. I might give the shorter time and loger recovery. Thank you!!!
  • But my heartrate gets too high if I go faster. Are you saying my heart rate should go more than 180? I am 40, female, 180 pounds. I am used to the elliptical but not at all with jogging. I never jogged before. If my heartrate goes more than 180 is that ok?
  • My best recommendation is a treadmill. It'll help you build up your walking. As you get better at walking, you'll be able to walk faster and faster... Trust me, one day you'll be able to go faster. I was so shamefully unfit and couldn't do even a fraction of a mile without trying to go back home. You can keep yourself…
  • Hello, I know so many have answered. I just wanted to tell you that I too suffered so badly with this. Some days I thought I'd die. Look up Dr. Axe on youtube. He talks about this. I rolled feet on a tennis ball. I lost weight and got some sketchers which I know are not what most buy, but they were like heaven on my feet.…
  • thank you very much. One other thing is should I subtract my bmr from my calories burned as reported on my watch?
  • Sorry, I have the watch and also the heart rate strap monitor that goes around the chest.
  • My watch is Polar Ft4. So basically, I wasted my money? So how do exercise machines attempt to calculate calories when it uses the heart rate?
  • Sorry, wanted to add. I did an experiment and just sitting, just reading only, my watch showed 58 calories burned in 30 minutes. I am sure sleeping probably lowers this number so I can't correctly just multiply 58*2*24 to get my daily burn rate. Can anyone sort out my mind? really, really super appreciated.
  • If a person eats right all week then has a special day of not counting, not controlling (goes over allotted daily calories) etc then what does that do if it's just that day and the next it's back to counting, controlling and makes this cycle the weekly habit?
  • I just can't understand still. I just don't feel 210. I have never been 210. Well I was 208 this morning. When I weighed yesterday it was in the middle of the afternoon etc. The most I've ever been was 200. I had a dr appointment last year and I was 200 with clothes and shoes after breakfast and all that. I am wearing the…
  • Thank you all. I guess probably the old scale has the issue. This really &^%$@
  • All my kids and husband weigh the same no matter where they weigh. But mine is showing a significant amount, not theirs.
  • Which non digital? I had a blue non digital originally. When the whole thing started I was 200 pounds on it. I bought a white non digital which showed me at 210 at that time. Tired of the confusion and all that, I bought a fancy digital one with body fat percents, and lots of readings. It shows me as 210 whereas the…
  • I had a cheaper needle scale and hated thay the needle stopping point when weighing changed depending on how I stood. So I bought a bettter branf and that put me and only me at ten pounds heavier than the other scale. My family members are weighing the same. My husband weighs 145 and all scales reflect so. Dismayed, I…
  • Thank you so much. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your reply. Have a wonderful, beautiful day.
  • I think omgomgomg just keep going. I listen to 70s remixes and try to keep that rhythm and focus on the songs to get me through. Otherwise i just am freaking out i have to have distraction or I cant make it 5 minutes. I tried to listen to more meaningful things but no way. I cant focus.
  • I am not sure either. I am also hoping for an answer. I am just keeping it as error calories lol that if I over estimate my calories burned or the amount of calories eaten then I have those to fall back on, but they can add up. But hoping to find out to fix my logs.
  • I'm on lower carb, keeping carbs under 50 per day. My carb count has been around 30. Do you think this is a side effect of lower carbs? ETA: I googled and found keto flu. Maybe this is what it is. I do have a lot of the symptoms of that. It's day 5 for me in my change of eating patterns and exercise.
  • I also have been urinating A LOT. I have been drinking a lot so that's why I don't think I could have been dehydrated. Maybe I had 3 liters of water today. But the chills happened before all of the water was consumed. Before exercising in the course of the morning hours before beginning the workout, I drank about a liter…
  • No, not at all. I was feeling great. I just felt chills. Even right now, 9 hours later I am a bit cold.
  • I started doing aerobics 3 times a week. I thought I could make it but it's really a lot for me. I have no stamina, no strength etc. I am excellent though on the elliptical machine ---- comparatively speaking! However, one time in my aerobics class I felt just like you. I thought I was going to throw up, started coughing,…
  • [/quote]I have tried several in the past (Hydroxycut, ephedrine, VPX meltdown, etc). Here's my theory on them. They don't actually burn fat. They blunt appetite and give you energy. If taking the pill allows you to eat less then I guess it "works". I have reached a point where hunger is no longer relevant to me. Hunger…
  • This is my worthless point of view: I'm very out of shape. I just simply cannot do aerobics for 45 minutes at full max speed on the floor. I can HARDLY get through ONLY the warm up. However, I can do an elliptical machine, at my aerobic target heart rate for well over an hour and burn lots of calories. If I am really…
  • Thank you for helping us out. I hope one day I can pay it forward. I just don't understand why I would work so hard burning up calories, while eating a 1200 calorie diet, to only eat the burned up calories back up again. Can you tell me in a way I can really get it so I will mentally get ok and not afraid either way. I eat…
  • thank you so much everyone. I will probably exercise tomorrow but at a fat burning level and longer period of time to still get my calories burned. It's pretty rough right now.
  • thank you very much for your help.
  • Thank you so much for your help.
  • So interval workouts don't have to be for an exact 90 on 90 off for example? It can be all erratic? I was trying to just push myself madly. Also, in interval training I am allowed to keep my heart rate up like this?
  • ok great...thank you so much. I'll get the app. I noticed when I entered my exercise it added more calories to be consumed....trust the system.... =D
  • Oh shoot. I see what you mean. Because I need 1200 to live so whatever I do I still have to make sure I have that intake at the end of the day and not less. Is that right? Let me refigure this. I haven't set any goals yet since I came back on MFP so let me do this and I'll return.
