  • I've tried practically all the diets out there and my results are extremely small and takes a lot of time normally and it's very frustrating with pure calorie restriction (even can gain weight which is even more frustrating). Atkins made me lose weight at first but then I got really sick from it and had food aversion to…
  • I deal with the same thing. The last place I see any changes in measurements are in my thighs. It starts easily in my face, then arms, chest, then waist, then hips and finally thighs. But in any case, it's nice to see the change when it happens ... at least there is somewhere on my body that I can see the results of all my…
  • I've been using mine off and on for the last few months. Now that some major changes have happened, I'm now able to use it to lose weight. Please feel free to add me: www.fitbit.com/user/26NWHR
  • I also thought it was just me. My ex's eating was so bad that I would want to run away. I couldn't stay in the same area as him while he eats. But I find this to be true in so many cases. I hate hearing people chew chips or slurping soup.
  • I've seen posts about whether to wear underwear or not. I usually do wear underwear, though I did try it once. I prefer to wear my underwear. I wear a pantyliner and it's one more layer that doesn't let the sweat go through to the pants. I find not wearing underwear more uncomfortable. But if it works for others, all the…
  • I can't read everything that everyone is saying in this string. But your diary only has one day that was tracked in the whole month of May. I know for myself, if I'm not tracking my calories then I'm definitely not watching what I am eating. I try to some extent, but seriously, I know that I'm going down the wrong path.…
  • I also use my foam roller and my compression shorts when I have sore muscles.
  • Weighing yourself is only one indicator. You could be losing weight and gaining muscle. You could also be retaining water. You should also take your measurements to see if there are any changes there or not. I usually use both the scale and my measures to gauge how I'm doing.

  • I gained a lot of weight during my pregnancy. It didn't help that I had very low blood pressure and I kept being told to keep eating so that my blood pressure could stay up (not the best advice I've ever heard, but they didn't have any other things to recommend me). I stayed overweight until my daughter was 4 years old.…
  • For countries: United Kingdom Italy France Belgium Denmark Crete Morocco Greece Iceland Brazil Turkey (when it's okay to do so) Austria Bora Bora In the US: Hawaii San Diego Washington D.C. Colorado Springs (really liked it before would like to go again) Chicago New Orleans (really liked it the first time would love to go…
  • I don't normally change out of my work clothes unless I'm going to the gym after work. I put them on at work and drive to the gym. I have a casual workplace so it's not really that big of a deal. Changing into yoga pants usually means for me that I need to workout. I change into my pjs once I'm ready for bed.
  • Two hours of shoveling wet, heavy snow for me today. :)
  • Low glycemic index foods give you more bang for your buck so to speak. They are very filling yet low in calories. You can google low glycemic index foods. Some of them are broccoli, radishes, lettuce (spinach, romaine, etc.), kale, carrots etc. The higher the index rating the smaller the portion.

  • I understand what you are going through. My way of getting in exercise throughout the day is climbing 2 flights of stairs before I go to the bathroom and after I go to the bathroom. It takes maybe 5 additional min. each time I go, but it's worth it. I can climb up to 12 flights of stairs in one day. When the weather is…
  • I've been tracking my food on another site and 50% of my daily intake is carbs. I'm not sure how you are defining what a carb is. I really don't understand the resistance to what is included and excluded from the program. There are people who eat vegan, raw only, paleo diets, etc.. All of them are restrictive in nature and…
  • I'm actually doing it and I'm very full all the time with the food that I'm eating (and I like everything that I'm making for dishes). My main priority is to get the nutrition that I was lacking over the holidays back into my lifestyle. I definitely was sliding back into my old habits. Before he even created this plan I…
  • Yes, he said that you can have unlimited amount of protein and if you want to have dessert to have berries at night. I think if you find that you like how you feel after the two weeks and you want to continue you can. When I was doing well on WW I had very little wheat products and little starchy vegetables. Probably…
  • I watched the whole segment on this plan and it's really not as bad as everyone is saying. First off, vegetables are carbs and the plan also has legumes (also considered good carbs) on it as well. Every article I've read in the last year talks about how you should cut sugar out of your diet. It's two weeks of eating…
  • Personally, I would go to a bookstore (but then again I'm a book worm) and buy a workout book. There's plenty of them out there. :)
  • I use a list like this one: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/551631-100-reasons-to-work-out-today That usually gets me moving. I also have a quote that sits at my desk at work that says "Make moves not excuses!" It's from a workout t-shirt that I have.
  • My favorite is Massimo (it's Italian for Maximus). But I also like Giovanni, Sebastian and Rayhan.
  • One of the tricks I use is imagining the junk food with things I can't stand so I'm not tempted (personally, I hate coconut and walnuts so that's what I tell myself. I'll also imagine the worst tasting cake or cupcake ever and assume that is what it really tastes like). Plus, I have my own treats at my desk to keep me…
  • I also try to make sure I put protein into each of my meals and snacks. I tend to gravitate towards sweets and I have to have chocolate every day. So I will have a half of a kind bar or a square of dark chocolate and that usually is all I need. I also have been eating yogurt with a flaxseed and chia mix and that really…
  • I know that there are a lot of pros to working out first thing in the morning, but my body isn't flexible enough and I can't move or do the things like I can in the evening. So, morning workouts don't do it for me. It does mean that I have to make it a priority so it doesn't slide into not working out. I have several…
  • What you described sounds like you are miserable in this relationship. It's over before the marriage can begin. Don't torment yourself and try to get married. It's not going to get better once you are married. You already sound like how my marriage was before I divorced. If you want happiness in your life and a partnership…
  • It really depends on how much activity I get and the kinds of food I have during the day. If I start off eating all carbs then I'm just setting myself up to fail for the whole day. It's very hard for me to get back on track that day once I start it. It also means that I started out the day stressed out and the emotional…
  • I also don't purposely put make up on for working out. It just happens that I work out after work and if I wear make up to work, like the others said, I don't bother washing my face before (just trying to squeeze time before picking up my daughter is tough enough to get it in).
  • I'm a Next Gen Trekkie ;) I think I will fit in. Engage!
  • I also have sciatica, but I still do toning and high impact cardio. What allows me to do it is are a couple of things. One, stretching is very important. But I also wear compression shorts to bed after a workout. They are pricey, but the good ones with the correct support help so much. Ever since I got them I have been…
