Def. check out the NROL4W group here on MFP. I finished the Women's book and am now on Abs and have loved the results. I weighed myself for the first time in about 6 months (I weighed at the beginning of NR:Women and at the very end) and actually gained about 7-8 pounds but have increased considerably in strength and i am…

Check out this group of women who are doing NROL4W for many success stories and even some pictures! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/102-new-rules-of-lifting-for-women-nrol4w This program is AWESOME! I just finished a few weeks ago and while I didn't have any weight lose (I was doing this program to increase…

I was having this problem too (on deadlifts with the bar)...my legs could handle more weight but I was about to drop the bar after only a few reps. Someone suggested to do a mixed grip--one hand-overhand, one hand-underhand and then switch for the next set. So far it has worked for me & I've been able to increase my weight…

I try my best do to 40/30/30 most days and generally eat about the same things every week haha. My diary is open if you need any ideas but after a few days you won't see too much variety :) a typical day for me might look something like this Breakfast: english muffin and peanut butter with a piece of fruit or 1 egg + egg…

I teach Zumba (and other classes too) and there have been times where I've had to do my NROLW workout immediately before teaching (actually, I'm going to have to do that with my workouts this week due to a busy schedule). ANYWAY, when I have to teach and do the workout on the same day, I really have to tone down my zumba…

Loving the Stage 3 exercises. I just want to stay here for-ev-er :)

hahahah no judgement here! I have officially 'retired' from the English teaching world anyway :)

HEY Lauren :) I'm on stage 3 right now and this program rocks my world like nothing else ever has. Seriously. -reverse crunches are a good sub for the jackknifes but also try some planks too as a sub -In stage 2, some cardio intervals are added at the end of the workout and you are right...they start to take A LOT longer…

Hi! I'm an AFAA certified group fitness instructor. I chose AFAA because it is accepted by most gyms and if you take the certification during their APEX times (I think February/September?) you can get an AWESOME discount ($99 compared to $300 + the cost of study materials). All of the certifications that are most accepted…

I started adjusting my calories 2 days before starting the workout program just to give myself some 'practice time'. I really didn't plan on doing this but it worked out that I started eating the diet on Sunday and started the workout on Tuesday.

Upping mine really freaked me out at first. My numbers were pretty similar to yours on workout/non workout days. I changed my goals on MFP to 40/30/30 (carb/protein/fat) and 1800 calories, knowing in my mind that I *should* eat somewhere between 1900-2000 on hard workout days. I've been logging my workouts but have been…

I teach group fitness [Zumba, Aqua Zumba, Hip Hop Hustle, Low Impact Aerobics, etc.] so I end up doing a lot of cardio (anywhere from 45-90 minutes/day most days of the week depending on the day...). Since I've started this program, I've been trying to tone down my personal intensity when teaching classes but sometimes it…

Just started Stage 1 last week and I already feel stronger and tighter (...might be all in my head, but I really do feel great!). I'm a carb-addict so it has been interesting for me to incorporate more protein but I am totally sold on this program and can't wait to see how I progress over 6 months! Def. join in the group…

Hey Yall! I'm Sadie and I am starting this program TODAY! I got the book in the mail a few days ago. When I ordered it, I had planned on waiting till January to start but after reading it (...couldn't really put it down!) I immediately changed my mind. I'm a part-time grad student and a part-time fitness instructor who…

The training is a LONG but very FUN day! You get to the location around 8am, register, and have the opportunity to spend LOTS OF MONEY on Zumba clothes. There will be between 50-100 other people there (depending on the size of the location). Usually, at the very beginning, the instructor will give you a brief introduction…

Hey! Pay for Zumba instructors (or people who teach other fitness formats) kind of varies depending on where you live, the venue, etc. Like for example, in North Carolina, if you work at a non-profit gym like the YMCA you'd probably make between $10-20/class. At bigger gyms like Gold's you'd probably make a little more,…

A lot of the Dogfish Head beers are listed on MFP. Helps when looking for something similar!

Mine was doing that about a month after I got it...so I started being more careful with how I stored it. After use or cleaning it, I made sure to leave the chest laying out flat to dry and store until I used it again (instead of just tossing it in my bag). Has worked perfect ever since I started being more careful!
