• There are many opinions out there about juicing, and one I've read in a book recently by a celebrity trainer was that juicing removed some of the vital nutrients found in the fruits and veggies and that it's actually a better idea to blend them into a smoothie! Now, as long as he's getting all his food groups (protein,…
• I also go to our local YMCA's! They have amazing equipment, a great childcare for my kids, and the family activities are a plus! :)
• Do eat raw fruit and veggies daily Don't eat complex carbs after lunch
• I personally believe that that negative self talk is not about what you look like, but about how you feel about yourself. I lost 45 lbs and gained 10 back and while I'm still 35 lbs down I continue to talk negatively to myself. It's not about how much weight you lose and how much nicer you look, but about how much better…
• I've never done both of those, but when I was on WW (the old points system) I noticed that when I ate my weeklies in healthy foods then that was when I lost the most weight. The points system is different now so I would say maybe not eat those weeklies unless you are absolutely hungry and maybe only eat your exercise…
• Like most everyone else is saying, if you don't exercise you will lose weight from calorie deficit alone, but you will lose muscle in the process as well. You will lose weight for some time but then your body will get used to that routine (or lack there of) and stop losing weight, putting you in a plateau. Eventually you…
• Congrats! :D Great work!
• It very well could be that your body has gotten used to what you were doing before and by taking a break your body readjusted. I've heard Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels (and others) say that in order to get your body out of the plateau that you should eat more and work out less. Perhaps that is what you started doing and…
• For the photos make sure the image code you use has small [ img ], not big
• A guideline I picked up from a Biggest Loser book for breakfast was 1/2 a serving of protein, one serving of whole grains, and one serving of fruit! My fave way of doing this is by making a nice parfait. You can use your favorite fruit (berries have less calories than say bananas or pineapples, but fresh pineapple is my…
• I always buy fruits and veggies (fresh and frozen), chicken, some sort of salad dressing, yogurt, granola, string cheese, eggs, and milk! :)
• That is amazing! I've been struggling to keep up with my 30DS because of time and kids, but your photos are motivating me to really give it a try! :D
• I've been trying my best to eat cleaner and I know it's definitely been when I lost the best numbers! It does work and I'm going to look up the resources you mentioned since I'm still new! :)
• WAY TO GO! I'm almost at 30 lbs and I know how exciting it feels! Keep up the good work! :D
• Since I didn't read all the comments I don't know if anyone has said this, but the contestants on the Biggest Loser spend a lot of time with the physical therapists after all the training they do! They don't show them there that often, but once in awhile on a couple of seasons you see them icing their joints and stuff! No…
• Why not do a fruit smoothie with protein powder added? I like to do this sometimes when I don't want to make anything! I use fresh or frozen fruit, milk (or juice or even water if you want), yogurt is optional, ice (to thicken or if you used fresh fruit), and sugar or artificial sweetener if you want added sweetness. Mix…
• My husband is the same way! He's in the army and since he goes to the gym everyday and works on his feet then can pretty much eat whatever he wants and it doesn't matter. I've tried losing weight around him and I just can't! My willpower right now isn't that strong though and so I have a hard time resisting pizza when he…
• I just restarted JM30DS because I don't do any weight training and I know you need some sort of strength exercise to effectively lose weight properly, cardio on it's own won't do it which is what I'm been mostly doing! The first time I tried it I only did it a few days but I could tell a difference in my endurance, which…
• I guess I'd be surprised yet honored, LOL! But I also wouldn't want to know about it!
• I do have a bad habit of weighing myself every day, and I say bad habit because it can be demotivating at times when I see that number go up! If I eat badly one day and give in to too much temptation and I see that higher number the next day, I tend to get down on myself and upset at what I did! It's not the same for…
• I also have a problem with weighing myself every day (I don't know why) but my scale fluctuates by several pounds all the time, from 2-4 lbs regularly! I try not to let it bother me, but hey, it's gets to everyone! I have noticed that on mornings when my weight goes up significantly I know I didn't eat my best the day…
• The first week I felt REALLY hungry and wanted to snack all the time! If you feel the need to snack only at night and can't seem to go to sleep then maybe try brushing your teeth so you won't want to eat and then drink a glass of water so you know your stomach isn't empty. My dad, when he couldn't sleep at night, would do…
• I've started week 2 and I will honestly say I'm having a hard time! I don't always have the days to commit to it and then if too many days go by in between then of course it's harder. I think I might start over also and really try and commit to it. I would love to run a 5K with my husband when he gets back from overseas! :)
• Congrats! I just started a C25K app on my iPod and did the first day yesterday! Yes, I thought I was going to die with all the running! I can't wait to finish it and do a 5K and finish it with pride! :D
• I rest on Sundays and sometimes on Saturdays as well. The only reason that is though is because I work out at the YMCA because they have childcare included and the childcare center isn't open Saturday afternoons or at all on Sundays! If I really want to then sometimes I take my kids for a walk on the weekend days, but I…
• I really like seeing those numbers! I don't think their predictions are based on eating the exact same thing every day, I think it's about the calories in and the calories out and all that, nothing more! I don't think it's what you eat! :)
• C25K is more for those people that don't really run/jog at all! What you could start doing is just running/jogging and maybe doing your own little 5K's or something! Try every time to improve your time and just keep running. There's nothing really to improve your stamina like practice makes perfect! Just keep going!
• Get an angel food cake and then make some icing with whipped cream and mix in a pack of sugar free pudding mix (just the mix). So slowly mix in the powder from the pudding mix into the whip cream until you get a sort of icing consistency! It's actually really delish and was a huge hit at my daughter's first birthday party!…
• I don't worry about net! On days when I have big workouts and burn 1000 calories then I try to eat between 1200-1500! Otherwise I try to stick as close to 1200 as possible unless I'm just super hungry! Hunger is a good sign as to whether or not you should eat more to make up for that! I try never to go over 1500 though!
• I'm absolutely in love with the new Mio drink mixes! They don't say they have aspartame in them and i definitely think they are sweeter tasting than crystal light! I love them so much I don't drink water without them unless I'm at the gym! ;) I also use one of those plastic cups with the straws that are all the rave right…
