  • As far as being better for you... I agree with GFPeggy. I definitely think it tastes better than regular table salt.
  • I'm actually eating oatmeal as I type this :) I put 1/2 tbsp of Smart Butter Light, 1/4 cup blueberries, 1/4 strawberries, and some cinnamon on top of 3/4 cup oatmeal, mixed it all up... and yummy :) This all together is about 350 cals, but it keeps me full for hours and takes uber good!
  • LOL... this past season was the first season I followed religiously and it actually lit a fire under my butt when I realized that I had watched it from day one, and toward the end the women WERE starting to weigh less than me. Made me realize that while it's not realistic for me to lose 10 pounds a week, I can sure as hell…
  • Hehe... I do the same thing. My theory is... ticker is allowed to go down, but not up, forces me to keep up the good work so my ticker doesn't "lie" for too long :) Congrats on losing the weight you have lost! You look fantastic! And good luck getting those 5 pounds to go away, but I'm sure it's all muscle  , that's…
  • Fruit is great. Fiber One bars, and other nutrition bars. Almonds and other nuts. (just make sure to measure out your serving sizes b/c they are calorie dense) Cut up celery and mix it with baby carrots in a little zip lock baggie (I buy several things of celery and baby carrots during the weekend and cut and mix into…
  • I was in the Army so I've done more push-ups than one person should ever do in a lifetime (or two lol). The only way to get stronger doing pushups is to do more pushups. Do them everyday. Make yourself do as many knee pushups as you can 3 - 4 times spread out through the day. Then keep testing yourself to try and do some…

  • Last time I checked you could bring NO food or drink in your carry on. I haven't flown in about 6 months, but last time I did they confiscated my oh so dangerous bottle of water :)
  • Thanks  I fully attribute it to MFP and the wonderful logging system on here. Thanks for the suggestions!
  • Anybody???
  • I am the oldest child and oldest grandchild on both sides of my family... I heard this CONSTANTLY as every single adult besides me smokes, most of them are alcoholics, and several of them are drug addicts as well. I, somehow, escaped it all. I am still, literally, the only person over the age of 15 that doesn't smoke. The…
  • I just bought this... what kind of results has everyone seen from this?
  • That's exactly what I thought about Helen - that she probably did a major fast and was severely dehydrated. I did that several times when I had to weigh in for the military. One can easily drop 15 or more pounds in a week doing that. But I can only imagine the havoc it plays on your body and obviously, I'm still here, so…
  • Ditto. I never really like Ron but I give him props on always making sure it was known that his son was more important than he was.
  • Monterey! Only one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen in my entire (albeit short lol) life.
  • Thanks everyone for the awesome suggestions! We had originally planned on taking 3 days to drive there but after some thought have decided to increase it to 4 days. I am definitely on a budget for this trip and the LAST thing I want is for my car to die somewhere between Ohio and Cali. Especially because my travel buddy…
  • Awww, thanks! I lived in California for almost 3 years when I was in the Army (that was 4 years ago) and have been dreaming of returning ever since. I do have a gps, but will mapquesting and planning out the trip. My friend and I plan on making it there in 3 days. So we'll be driving about 12 hours a day. I hope I can keep…
  • So, I have decided to sell everything I own and move from Ohio to California to live with friends and go to grad school. I currently live by myself in a one bedroom apartment and am going to literally sell everything I own and take bare necessities, a few bags of clothes, sentimental items like photos and the such, my car,…
  • Hi there! Welcome to the wonderful world of MFP. It is annoying how guys seem to drop weight so much quicker than us girls. Wii Fit is great, if you use it regularly. I have heard ALOT of bad things about the quality of the Jillian Micheal's game, I'd recommend checking out some reviews and ratings before you buy it.…
  • I've experienced sleep paralysis off and on my entire life (I'm 26). I too have had cycles of paralysis and I notice an increase when I am under a lot of stress in my life. Sometimes it's hard to get stress out of your life, but eating healthy and exercising daily to release it can certainly help. I haven't had an…
  • Everything changed for me when I started doing research about what the food and it's nutrients (or lack thereof) do to my body. When I stopped thinking of food in terms of how it would affect my weight and more in terms of how it would affect my mood, body performance, energy, brain function, etc... it clicked in my head.…

  • I completely think it's possible. I haven't really lost all THAT much weight and ppl are really starting to notice that my body is shaped differently. So am I. I even measured and have only lost 3/4 of an inch which, in my opinion, isn't enough to notice a difference. Enjoy it and use it as motivation :)
  • Sure :) btw, the 5K is located in Columbus Ohio. But I'm sure you can use the link to search for 5Ks in your area. The second link is a general 3 month training program for a 5K. http://www.ultrafit-usa.com/pigrun_09.html http://running.about.com/od/5kplans/ss/5k3months_2.htm
  • So one of my friends in class started running several months ago and dropped a bunch of weight. He told me he was thinking about running a 5K and I told him he should do it!!! He then sent me the link and when seeing that the 5K wasn't for 3 months a light bulb went off in my head. I've been running a little bit (like 2…
  • I'm not a big fan of Wickedpedia  But here ya go... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_Deuel I lied... it was 900ish pounds... but yup, apparently it's possible.
  • Thanks everyone! Take it from someone who has battled weight her entire life... stick with it. Make this a lifestyle change, not a diet. Exercise every day. You'll not only lose weight but you'll feel great too. It really is that simple. :) Keep up the good work. Now... log off MFP and go do something lol :)
  • And I'm HAPPY bout it!!! For the first time since I bought it 3 months ago my Wii Fit told me I was overweight instead of obese! Yay! Next step... NORMAL
  • That's awesome!!! You look amazing! Keep up the good work! And I'm originally from the Tampa area too!
  • I am currently watching Oprah, and the man that won the Guinness World Record for most weight loss (he lost over 1000lbs then gained it all back), made a great comment. He said he knew that weight loss surgery wasn't for him b/c his disease wasn't in his stomach, it was all in his head. Boy oh boy that made total sense to…
  • He dropped his cell phone ROFL... that's hilarious. Talk about a great feeling!
